hi first time poster here, hope this is an interesting post.
so i am going to help spuse up penumbra in our game so we can help the owner (our fixer) make extra money (and hopefully supplement my own.)
so i was think to keep with the shadow runner feeling of the club, we could use old and broken gear to set the theme up cheaply. like a flash pak with it's lights burnt out can have those replaced with not-as-bright lights to be a strobe light, or the node being a bunch of old decks linked together.
what you guys think?
got and more ideas for repurposed gear?

Turn old-model Predators into something else? Worn-out cyberlimb table legs?
On a less fun note... Wall of Absent Friends?

Yes, that's what we need! Predator III drink dispensers! Or how about sniper rifle railings? Armor vest seat padding? 5 Cybereyes with my light systems aimed at a disco ball for a nice light show...

I'm currently running a technomancer where the rest of the team just thinks he's a regular hacker. He has a set of trodes, AR gloves and headphones, all of which are busted and don't work, and he uses them to fake out the rest of the group.

Hey, who's bolt-hole ever has enough milk-crate-and-2x4 furniture and old-and-busted home entertainment systems?
Nobody, that's who.
That reminds me... Gotta remember to stop by the Army Surplus Store and the dump onthe way home. Maybe they have a Herkimer Battle Jitney or something, just sitting around...

Monowire guitar strings? Y'know from when you did that pool crashing and thought to keep the fence snippings.

i feel like the guitarist would lose some fingers like that. would be quite a show.

"I've got this old Fairlight Excalibur, guess you could use it a coaster or something. I just swat flies with it, now."

rail drones on the ceiling. equip them with lights, and now you have a mobile spotlight system. a couple that shoot capsule rounds would help augment the bouncer.
the matrix node would have very retro styling on it, and all AR would be in the old menu styles.
really, the hard part would be dealing with the devil rats that are nesting inside that old pile of vintage junk. but hey, taxidermy can even make those part of the decor.

I was in Computers, not Engineering. I did, however, live around a whole bunch of Canadian Rednecks.

Just replace smart phones with commlinks, and flat screens with trideo projectors and you've got many of the warzones in 2075. I have to say though, the photography is something to be admired.

Actually brings up something that I had as a idea for a weapon, kinda. Monowire violin bow. Just remember not to actually use it.
