OK, so, reading through the last portion of Storm Front PDF, there were a bunch of references to something called
"the Smokers' Club." It was like 'jack saying he had already contacted them on this matter, Bull saying that it might be
time to contact them on another matter, 'jack saying not ready to call them on something, etc, etc.
This is the first I have ever heard of this group. Does anyone have any information? Like, maybe, some old sourcebooks
that mention them or something?

They're profiled in Loose Alliances. Quick & dirty: It's a group of assassins led by Yankee (a fixer profiled in Street Legends) that counted Riser among its members.
-
They featured in 'Anatomy of a Shadowrun.', led by Riser. Yankee has become a Fixer, handed his protegee the reigns. I know there was at least one reference to the group, in a post by Riser, where he stated the group had consulted a Pschologist about bringing Ladybug into the group. No clue which book that bit was in, though.
Charlie Horse, their Wheelman, is an Adept. Seta is a Mage, who shares with his Mentor Spirit a hatred of Trolls. Kai-lin is former spec-ops, a sniper. Ladybug is a Technomancer, and a child. Riser himself is an ex-ganger.
Their skills overlap a fair bit, but Ladybug is about the only one worth spit on the Matrix, and Seta is the only one who can sling mojo.

You're thinking of Attitude, in the chapter about how to bring a group together, I believe.
-
Indeed.
The Smokers Club once had a ... dispute ... with Chimera, the other well known assassination group (Chimera being the one made up of ex-UGB hitters). Can you imagine what a grudge match between two teams of assassins would look like in SR? No one would be safe.

Can you imagine Clockwork trying to take Ladybug?

Can you imagine Clockwork trying to take Ladybug?
With enough drones...
-
Raizor and Pip would have lifelong goals to join the Smokers club. At least Pip would have some reason to be accepted with his magician talents.

Even Clockwork isn't stupid enough to take on a group of international assassins when there are many more 'soft targets' out there.
-
Yeah, like Slammo! and Netcat's kid? Right. Clockwork TOTALLY wouldn't do something entirely suicidal......
-
Netcat (and everyone around her) is a special case, Lysanderz. She's right in his face, and is the focal point of a lot of people's hate against him. Until she failed to get caught in his trap, Clockwork was actually a fairly respected (if not liked) member of Jackpoint. Especially since everyone was going crazy about TMs back then.

Another debate for another time compadre. I enjoy you too much Miri. :)
