So, with 5th edition coming up quick, what else is left for 4th edition releases? I don't think Eurowars Antiques has been released yet, except as part of the RBB 2074, but we haven't seen it in PDF form. And there's the Parazoology 2 mentioned on the Jackpoint page from Storm Front.
-
There's a couple little ebooks still in the pipeline. Remember to keep checking the "login page" of new products (like you have for Storm Front, it always spills the beans a little bit. :)
-
And some of those may well become 5th edition eBook products as well.

I really hope that Used Car Lot gets updated and expanded early on in the new edition. (I don't want to wait almost a decade for my Prairie Cat or Blitzen again.)

Ugh. Not me. I don't understand the point of releasing product that boils down to "The same, but 'BETTER'! " when it comes to gear.

The point is A) New shiny!, and B) some GMs are sticklers for not allowing custom material in their games, including material that has been converted from prior editions. Plus, with the new gear limitations on skills, at least on firearms (and possibly on other things), there's going to be new stats, so you can't just copy over the old stuff.

I like new shiny. I don't like new, more powerful, more easily available, more legal and cheaper for a piece of equipment.
Like, the stuff that appeared in the anniversary edition was awesome. It was different, but not just purely better then older gear.

Players like us, though, are in the deep, deep minority. Shadowrun readers LOVE gear books. It's obscene.

I wonder how much of that is just looking at shinies. Like, Battletech, the TRO products are the best seller, and usually they don't introduce new gear, just new units fielding the same gear. If Shadowrun would do the same, and release a booklet of shadowrunners with a small blurb on what they do and their gear, with a page of art, I know I'd buy it.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm... Gear Porn. ;D

What I am wanting is a source book that has things from prior editions that don't make it into the core book. Just because a new edition starts doesn't mean that things that already existed should just cease to exist. If they want to put some new stuff into it too, then cool, but that's not what I'm after.
-
That opens up a whole set of other problems when you use the same terminology. Star Trek TOS Enterprise traveled at Warp 13, which was only Warp 7 point something in TNG.

Arsenal (5E)?

Actually, Wildcard, the times the original Enterprise went that fast were because of advanced alien interference. Either people making modifications to the engines that were beyond their comprehension, or alien probes doing the same thing, or getting hauled behind an advanced craft that was doing high warp. So it does not technically break continuity.

http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Warp_factor
During TOS, the warp factor scale wasn't clearly defined. In his initial draft proposal, Star Trek is..., Gene Roddenberry established the maximum velocity of the starship as ".73 of one light year per hour". This would translate to a top speed of approximately 6,400 c (equivalent to TOS warp 18.57, and approximately TNG warp 9.98).

I just got thread whiplash from this thing going off the rails.

I think art plays a big role, but that's my guess.

Arsenal (5E)?
If they actually did that with the Fifth Edition version of Arsenal, sure, but it'll probably be new stuff.
-
If they brought out a 5th edition for 'Arsenal' or other gear-related pubs, they'ed probably launch it/them as pdf(s). 8)

There will almost certainly be 5th edition versions of Arsenal, Augmentation, Street Magic and Unwired just like there's a 5th editon version of Runners Companion in the pipe line(Run Faster, really like that it's the first additional core book this time around)
-
Speaking of remaining 4th material, is Battle for manhattan going to be released into 5th, the 3rd part of the series?
-
They might be mixing things up in sorting though, since it wouldn't surprise me if vehicle modifications end up in the Rigger book and Arsenal thus ends up being torn to pieces.

There's a new Rigger book incoming?
Isn't it little too early to end the edition. when the corebook is barely even out ;)
-
Heh. No, they were planning on letting Rigger show up sooner, with vehicle mods. Sounded a lot like divying up Arsenal to me but who knows.
-
Are they still doing Boardroom Backstabs 3? Did I miss the release of that?
Or is it going to be dual 4th/5th edition now?
-
The latter (I assume. I have no idea if it will have rules for both SR4A and SR5). Especially since Stolen Souls is going to contain the most recent update on New York.
-
man cant wait for runners book. wana port my fox shapeshifter yakuza gun-fu hit-man over see how he is in 5th ed. o and surge. wana make guyver like Zoanoids outa my poor humen charecters cuss its fun for the whole furry fammily. god cant wait ;D ;D

I know I have a thing in the PDF pipeline that was done for 4th ed rules, but will probably be converted to 5th ed when it releases. *vague gestures*
-
Parazoology 2 was released today...single-statted for 4A.
-
Parazoology 2 finishes out the remaining critters from previous editions and references and then rounds it out with a few new ones.
-
Thanks for the info. It would be nice to see these converted to 5e stats going forward...maybe as a compilation PDF...but guessing there are other priorities to tackle first ;)
-
My PDF product was statted for 4th ed, but I'll update it for 5th when able. UNless it comes out after certain things, in which case the stats might be re-written for 5th.
...
*vagueness*
-
Can't remember if I've commented in here or not, but Sail Away Sweet Sister (the long-gestating sequel to Another Rainy Night) will be dual-statted in its game info section. The story itself is nearly complete; the stat section and other game info shouldn't take too long after that.
-
First I've seen mention of this...thanks Patrick.
@Wakshaani - seems like *vagueness* is pretty much the norm these days. Understand some of the logic, but rubs me the wrong way. Oh well... ;)

Well, NDA stuff. Can't talk about stuff before it's officially announced, so if I go on about a book, I get in trouble. And, you know, I *like* this job. :) So, I can say that it's a PDF product, that it was pitched two years back (It's actually the second thing I wrote for 'em), that it went through an editing pass, a re-write, and is back upstairs, but as to what's inside or the title, I can't say yet. When I get a nod from above, I can pimp it out s'more. If I *could* say more, believe me, I would. :)
-
Some interesting critters in there and good artwork imo.
-
Thanks Wak...fully understand and much appreciated.

To be honest, I'm sure a lot of folks on the forums are more than happy.
On the bright side, I get to pimp my books often (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/index.php?x=0&y=0&author=Raymond%20Croteau)! ;D

Nah, just messing with ya. :'(
