Now this question is a bit hard to place exactly, as the rules themselves are vague on it, but how much room would a smuggling compartment in a bus have? Comes down to the GM obviously, but I'm curious to see what (if any) the consensus is. Part of me feels like if you went with a claustrophobic model with a low ceiling, you could easily have a compartment that runs along the entire undercarriage while still leaving room for the actual working parts of the machine.
Just curious to see what others think of this.

It depends on how you want it. I would suggest a number of small compartments instead of one big one. It's also easier to conceal for police controls (if suddenly a whole part of a bus which should be accessible isn't, even a dumbwitted police officer can get suspicious). On the other hand, you can move a lot of stuff by bus by just putting it in the main luggage compartment. Put the smuggled stuff in the middle, pile a lot of luggage around it and move. Chances are the police won't even unload the whole bus.

Very true. As an alternate, if you need a lot of space but none of it needs to be very deep, you can shave down the regular storage compartment by 3-6" overall, having very wide plated flooring for the bus interior. I'd think it'd be moderately tough to recognize how high the floor in there is, and how high the compartment out here should be.
