So, I don't have copies of season 4 missions. Did Prop 23 end up passing in the end?
-
The Ork Underground is now part of Seattle!
BULL FOR MAYOR OF THE ORK UNDERGROUND!!!
-
Yes.
It's covered in Storm Front.
-
And in more detail in Dirty Tricks.

BULL FOR MAYOR OF THE ORK UNDERGROUND!!!
Agreed. He's got my vote! And my guns!
-
And my axe!!
Wait, wrong movie...sorry....
-
He's probably got Mungo's axe, though.
-
So much history going on in Shadowrun. I feel like I need a full-on history book, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I want one.
So, Prop 23 was a vote to make the Ork Underground an official district of Seattle, yes? I don't fully understand the implications of that.

Taxes and Law Enforcement Protection.

Taxes and Law Enforcement Protection.
As well as formal representation in city government, more support for infrastructure, etc. It will make the underground less useful for "getting off the grid", but it will probably make life better for those who live there full time.
-
It will be interesting to see what the canon result of Splintered State will be, since it involves information of what Brackhaven was planning to do. There's 4 different parties that are trying to get the information, so the question is what parties all managed to score it and what they used it for. If it gets in the hands of the Grand Jury, he may very well fall eventually.

Taxes and Law Enforcement Protection.
Meaning..lots of cops down there. So fireworks all over for awhile.
-
And SINs for all...
-
And SINs for all...
Criminal ones, likely. Here's a neat thing related to it all. http://www.shadowrun.com/2070/2013/01/04/prop-23-and-its-aftermath/

There is nice paragraph on this in Stormfront, p. 81. Much of legal SINs intended for OU inhabitants ended up on fake SIN market. Hell maybe some of my characters have one of those...
-
If Brackhaven falls after Splintered State, things could take a turn for the better, couldn't they?
-
For more fun? Sure. For better? I doubt that...
-
Brackhaven falling will take quite a while. As for SINs, Storm Front makes clear that they don't really care about the sinless there, and sure ain't intending to arrest them for it.

Yep. My feeling is that the only thing that matters is Property rights acquired by mobsters

Or AA+ Megas insisting that their property goes further down than ground level. "That was a nice hovel you had."

So you say you raised children in my ceiling. You liked the accomodation? Good. Now lets talk about all that delayed rent...

I'm thinking the megacrop would win this one as worst case scenario they send a couple guys saying "this is a nice place you have, it would be a shame if some shadowrunners accidentally burned it down. now how much would be worth for you to keep your hovel?"
-
That would be stupidly evil. Burning down the OU again has the potential to be a PR-apocalypse for the company.
It's more likely a mega like Evo will move in fast to create jobs etc; they gain cheap labour and amazing PR, a small but symbolic foothold in Seattle politics (in a potential post-Brackhaven era, that is).
-
Yes. Evo is one of my favorites for this, as I dont remember them being involved heavily on Seattle scene and it is almost about the time :)
-
maybe evo arn't but didnt crashcart worked havely in the city? and they are a subsudery of evo or was

True, well DocWagon still dominates in Seattle. But it may be great bridgehead, if CrashCart strikes some good deals with OU administrative...and "citizens". Also...EVO always adverts the fact it is metahuman-oriented, so this would fit their line...

IMO, Prop23 will be a boon to Seattle, especially if Brackhaven gets the boot.
