Title: [IC] The elephant in Seattle
Post by: Check Mate on <01-27-14/0340:27>
Raining as usual, the glow of your commlink as it receives a message contrasts sharply with the gloom of outside. You recieve a message from your respective fixers reading "Hoi Chummer. I've got a job opportunity. Theres a guy looking for some runners to extract someone from somewhere. I know it's not much but if you want the job you have to meet him at Fair Lady Gentleman's club, dress appropriately, at 8pm tonight. Should you decide to find out more just say Elephant to the bartender. Have fun Chummer." You look at your watch and see that it is just half past 5pm.

Gentlemens club? real classy place for a first meet.
Wheels thought he recognised the name..
knowledge check, clubs and bars (6d6.hits(5)=3) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4380889/)
knowledge test to see if I know what would be appropriate dress for the venue

@CS You know that the place is in a nice part of town and you should probably wear a sports coat at the very least and even that will get you some odd looks.

Ah crap, that's that swanky bar. Suit it is then..
Wheels takes a shower while the food processor knocks up a convincing effort at a Kielbasa, before wolfing it down in front of the trid screen in his comfy chair to kill some time.
It wasn't that far from his nice apartment, the generously appointed living room/kitchen on the 14th floor had superb views out over the city and he'd had to fight off a good few corp middle-wagers to secure it.
The secure underground parking had been the swinger though. Decent wheels needed a decent home, his baby would have been on bricks by sunrise had he left it on show near his old gaff.
Donning his suit, he slips his taser into his concealable holster and gathers his kit into his duffel bag before locking up and catching the small elevator down to his parking bay.
Slinging the duffel bag into the boot of his car, he switches his fake SiN to broadcast mode, fires up the engine and guns it noisily onto the main road, heading for the meet.

Contacts in, earbuds in, monocle on. Driving in AR for +1 dice if tests required.
rest of B&E kit and drone etc are in the boot (trunk) of car out of sight.

'Dammit who is calling at this time of day' her hand smacks against the small cheaply made wooden table next to the bed. The blurry glow of the Novatech Airware's display is pulled before her eyes as she stretches. Glancing at the time on it, '5! What the hell...' She rubs her eyes and gets out of bed hearing the message left by her fixer. "Hoi Chummer. Have fun Chummer." Stumbling towards the doorway to the hall connecting the the bathroom and kitchen to her room she heads in flicking the bathroom light on, she heads and turns on the shower. Taking off her sleeping shirt and shorts she steps in and cleans up for the night ahead.

Drying off after her shower she head in to dress in a form fitting body suit under a nice dark colored shirt and skirt. She grabs her AR glove, buckles her knee high boots and heads back in the bathroom to put in her iContacts into her blue-green eyes, syncing it with her Novatech she walking into the kitchen to eat something light before she heads out to the meeting point. She browses a couple of her favorite sites, checking forums, and catching up on any interesting news from earlier in the day she chows down on some cinnamon suger-buttered toast. After she finishes she pulls up the HUD on her contacts, '7:03', she shrugs to herself, 'might as well grab some stuff and head over, its a bit of a drive anyway.'

Assuming I know the club, Bars and Clubs (3) + INT (2). Roll, 4 successes. if not... I'll look it up.

Stepping in front of the mirror she puts on a woven tungsten and damascus chain holding a small ametrine stone at the end. She fixes her multicolored hair to sit just right. She grabs her ceramic knife, power focus, and her streetline special loaded with stick-n-shock rounds off on the table and steps out of her front door lighting a cigarette after she locks it up. after reaching her Indian Pathfinder she puts her piston in the side bag where her license for it is. She makes sure her knife is hidden in her dress. She continues to smoke as she pulls out of the garage onto the busy street, revving the engine she bolts out into the traffic heading toward the Fair Lady Gentleman's Club.

Navigating through traffic, she hits nearly ever red light along the way. 'This isn't my day, better have a stiff friggin' drink here.' She pulls up to the Fair Lady Gentleman's Club. her iContact displaying 8:06. Killing the engine, he makes her way toward the door.

For GM:
Equipment on her:
Form fitting body suit
Clothes
Ceramic Knife
Novatech Aireware
AR Gloves
iContacts
Fake Sin (Elsy Callahan)
Cred Stick

The constant rain in Seattle formed the perfect auditory backdrop in Jades apartment. Her blue-green eyes scanned her reflection; her Evo FOCUS attention coprocessor adding details and highlighting specific details of her. Her black hair sat down just above her shoulders, and her eyes couldn't help but examine the transition from human being to machine at her collarbone, where her right arm was replaced by her customized arm. Her black tanktop showed the actuators and connection points clearly. Sometimes when she went to the clubs, she'd leave her shoulder bare just to accentuate it.

Her Transys Avalon chirped; she smirked knowing it was her 'work' link. Simon, Mr. J, or one of her other associates might have some work for her.
At the same time, she hesitated as she reached for it. Tonight was supposed to be her night out on the town; pop some eX and dance the night away. Funds were alright, but at the same time, a little extra nuyen never hurt.

She gripped the Transys tightly, drawing its cable into her datajack into her neck. She was grateful she'd gotten a model that didn't pinch anymore.
Simons cool voice edged through. As usual, his measured baritone voice was charming even in the brief voice message he left. Evidently, he wasn't in the mood to chat tonight.
"Hoi Chummer. Have fun Chummer."

Well, Ghost was smiling on Jade tonight; a chance to get to party it up AND get paid? This was too good a chance to pass up.
3 hits on "Seattle Bars and Clubs (5d6) I'm assuming is enough to tell me this is a higher end establishment.

The Fair Lady's Gentlemans Club was about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic. Jade began quickly picking an outfit, deciding on a nice, ordinary suit jacket with a dress shirt underneath, then her half-body suit underneath for some level of protection if something happened. Granted, who was really dumb enough to pick a fight that would make her worry at a strip club? She assessed herself in the mirror, judging that she looked good, yet attractive. She slid her customized Fichetti into a holster and slid it into her jacket with a spare clip. The joys of having a gun with a clip of 30 rounds.

By the time she was dressed and ready, it was just past 6:15. She laid out the tools of her trade and made sure they were ready for a quick pickup from her apartment in Tacoma. Her armored jumpsuit and accompanying kit, spare pistols, ammo, and ceramic knife in a non-descript backpack, with her vibro-sword and HK-227 next to it, ready for a quick dash and grab under her bed.

Jade grabbed a rain-coat and helmet; rain was never good on clothes, but it beat using public transportation to a meet.

Toshi try to find a good parking place of the Contrail. Maybe close to the club, but not too close. 100 meter is perfect. If he find a place, hidden the predator in the trunk, pay the parking bill, and being shadow. He is eyes is open, scan the ground.

@Cram: You find a few spots to park but all are less than 100 meters from the building. As you look around you see two human bouncers in black suits. You also see various people of the richer variety coming and going.

Puppeteer was just deciding to close shop. He didn't have too many customers today, only two people came in besides the guy who had an appointment. And he better started to prepare for the Ritual of Dusk. When the message came in, he read it with a resignated sigh, then spared a few minutes to copy the name of the place into the browser and check the club for its address and the pictures on the site for the dress code. He took some notes then got on with preparations.

--o--

After finishing the Ritual, he still got enough time to get ready to leave. He dressed with care, making sure that his body armor didn't show obtrusively under his clothes. He took his gear with him, at least those items that he could put into a taxi without inviting too much notice - that meant his skeleton vessels reamined next to the altar. Finally, he grabbed his raincoat and called a taxi beforehand, they didn't really tend to just appear in Puyallup too much. He arrived to the club about 15 minutes early but it was more than OK. He opened his eye to the astral world briefly, just to get a feel of the place, still from the outside, then walked up to the door.
INT(5) + Assensing(3) + Mentor(2) (10d6.hits(5)=3) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4381719/); really just want to get the feel of the club before entering
For RenThe aura of the club is upbeat. It looks like a happy place compared to the places around it which look gloomy. It looks as though they may have hired mages to enhance their aura for their magically inclined customers.

You all arive at the club at varying times. Those who arrive before 7:30pm will see a large party enter the building. Other tan that it is a steady trickle of people coming and going. You notice that a few people are being stopped and are handing weapons over to the bouncers who secure them in a lock box. Other than that a few people are turned away because of what they are wearing.

If you want to sneak weapons in you will have to make a palming test. Other than that declare what you do once you enter.

Palming to bring Ceramic Knife in. Palming (1) + Agi (4) = 4 Successes.
Knife is undetectable by MAD scanners and also has Chameleon Coating, bringing its -2 Conceal to -6.

she walks up to the door and waits behind a tall thin Ork who pulls out s gold plated Ares Viper Slivergun, handing it to the bouncer at the door. He pulls back both sides of his suit to show he has nothing else. They wave the Ork inside and Alerion steps forward. "I've got nothing on me." She motions to the clothes she is wearing.

Essentially much this with a form fitting body suit under it. Though top is the one in the second picture. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg297/yunnes100/0904/wsk1.jpg

For Xilo: The bouncers look at you like you are one of the showgirls but they dont search you to thoroughly and you get in with your knife. Once you get inside you see a dance floor to the right with many people dancing. in front of you is a lavish bar with one bartender behind it.

Alerion steps through the doorway, checking her raincoat at the entrance. The dance floor is tempting but a good jobs pay is well worth skipping it. The electric rock playing is a classic, Living Mars, the band is a tougher to remember. Walking toward the bar, she pulls up the song list, her eyes glow a bit from her iContacts, Astral Lightning. 'Something dad used to listen to.' she thinks as she turns off her iContacts, reaching the bar she waves one of the bartenders over. "Elephant, and a Näch." She smiles.

Puppeteer walked into the club with higher hopes than usual. He didn’t have any weapons on him so he knew he didn’t need to care too much of the bouncers. He quietly endured their cursory check for weapons then checked his coat and cane at the entrance. When he saw the dancefloor he couldn’t help himself and stole a glance in the astral again, smiling at the pulsating emotions.
He walked up to the bar and asked for a popular, but light cocktail, which he brought with him to one of the tables. Sitting down, he watched people come and go, looking for anything odd or standing out both in the physical and the astral worlds.
physical: INT(5) + Perception(1) + Mentor(2) + Enhancers(3) (11d6.hits(5)=1) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4382437/)
astral: INT(5) + Assensing(3) + Mentor(2) (10d6.hits(5)=0) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4382438/)
The sights and feelings distracted him enough for a few minutes. When only 5 remained until the appointed time, he got up and went to the bar again, to address the bartender. "I'm meeting a friend of mine here, and he said to ask you if i don't see him. He sometimes refers to himself as Elephant."

@ Check Mate
-Jade is wearing a regular business suit with her armored form fitting gear underneath. My apologies- my computer deleted my original post and I must have overlooked it re-typing it. She'll look like a professional corp-type going straight to the club from the office.

As Jade approaches the Fair Lady, she sets her Mirage into a parking space. As she approaches, she makes sure her little Fichetti is safely hidden and stashed away on the small of her back in its concealable holster, and slides her spare clip down her shirt between her nether regions.

3 hits on a Palming 1 + Agility 7 roll to keep everything concealed

Jade steps up to the bouncer calmly, and can already feel the call of the dance floor from the beat of the music. If she was lucky, she could grab a quick drink and dance before the meet began. Jade smiles as she hands the bouncer at the door her rain coat and helmet to be checked.

@Ren You don't notice anything out of place in the physical world and you only see pulsating emotions everywhere when you astrally perceive it is a happy place. The barkeep looks at you for  a moment and then gestures you to follow him. He leads you up a flight of stairs and through a room with people smoking. He finally stops at a door and gestures for you to enter the room. Upon entering the room the door will be closed behind you. You are the first person up here and are in fact alone. There are 6 chairs before you and you may sit in any of them. There is a bottle of scotch in a decantur  along the wall with several glasses.

@Crazy Ivan: The bouncers, you notice as you wait in line, are not checking the women to thouroughly and when your turn comes they have you do the ole open the jacket routine to see if your carrying. You give a little twirl and manage to keep your body in a position where they do not notice the gun. They seem more distracted by the lower portions of your body when you turn. They wave you on in and you see the same thing Xilo saw.

Parking was a breeze outside the club. A few suits lingered near the doorway having a cig, Wheels cutting his way through the pack and nodding at the doormen as he entered.
Not expecting any trouble at the meet, Wheels just kept his taser on him, complying with the security checks as he enters.
The music was shit, and it was loud. A bad mix.
Heading to the bar, he ordered a beer, dropping "elephant" to the barman as he did so.

Jade strolls up to the bar, eyeing the waves of bodies pulsating to the various music as she does so. She slaps her metallic hand down hard enough to get the barkeeps attention.

"Day-amn it's a fun night to be here! Though have you seen that girl there?" Jade says to the bartender reaches behind her to gesture to someone behind though, though it's not clear who. "You'd think with an ass like an elephants, spandex would be out of the question."

@CS: Your taser is confiscated at the door and you are then allowed entrance. The barkeep hands your your berr and then beckons for you to follow him. ((He leads you to the same place as Ren descriptions are the same.)0 When you enter the room you see Rens character sitting at the table.))

@Crazy: The barkeep was walking across the club bacl to the bar after coming down the stairs when you arrived. He looks at your cyber arm and then beckons for you to follow with a sort of tired look on his face. ((Same description before until you arrive at the top of the stairs.)) At the top of the stairs you see a fight has broken out between a slender ork and a human. The barkeep motions you to the side and says a few words into his cufflink. Security is along almost immediately. The two are escorted to the door and you do not see them again. After that the barkeep leads you to a room where two people are already sitting.

Wheels enters the room and politely introduces himself as appropriate, taking stock of the room and his fellow runners in quiet contemplation as he drinks his beer.

Jade saunters into the room, keeping note of everybody's position that is in here, and also a glance back at the fight that had broken out earlier.

As Jade steps to the table, she greets the two gentlemen there with a handshake each.

"Name's Jade."

And with that, Jade plops down, eyeing the decanter of scotch with a hint of envy.

The albino elf with the tinted glasses and dark suit nodded to those entering and fitted his introduction to theirs. "Greetings. Jonathan." It was the name he used anyway, and until the Johnson came, and he could be mostly sure he has seen all those involved in the job, he had no intention of sharing his runner name.
Anyway, as a precaution, he kept his astral sight open, and gave a good look to each person entering. Although, he might have left his eyes to linger on the two women a few seconds longer than strictly needed.

If the chairs at the table are actually chairs, Jade helps herself to a small glass of the scotch while propping her feet up on the table. She grins casually at the new arrivals, and introduces herself;

"Evening; I'm Jade." Short, sweet, and too the point.

Once the elves begin conversing in their native tongue, Jade begins absentmindedly scrolling through some crackpots blog about the Nobilis Threat to metahumanity.

Shortly after you all enter the room, and exchange pleasentries, a tall man enters the room. He is human and has a look of officialness about him. He takes a seat at the only remaining seat and looks at each of you. "Good evening. I am glad you all made it, sorry I'm late but business to deal with and all. Before I continue I need all of you to agree to the job otherwise I cannot provide any more details." He waits for you all to agree.

Should you not agree then you will be escorted from the room.

If you all stay then he will continue.
"Good. Your target will be a UCAS senator. You heard me correctly. You will have to infiltrate the local UCAS govermnent building and extract Senator John Wilkes. He is not a willing participant in this extraction but we need him to answer our questions, questions that he can't answer over a comm. We need him extracted asap and he will only be in seattle for another day or two. He travels via motorcade with 5 armed guards all cybered up. We do not know his schedule exactly but he should be in the building all day long until he goes to his seattle resident. His residence is policed by lonestar and they have 10-20 guards on rotation with about 7 guards on patrol at all times.Any questions?" He waits to see if you have any questions looking around attentively.

Puppeteer raised his eyebrows in doubt but his voice was calm and reserved as he answered the tall man. "Good evening. You expect us to accept the job without giving any hint as to what it entails, what approximate difficulties we have to face and what the pay is? Aside from some of us possibly having principles, that is a very unusual way to proceed with these kinds of deals." He looked at the others one by one before turning back to the Johnson and continuing. "Please don't think i speak in the name of the others unless they indicate so, these are my concerns. But before i can agree to anything, i'd like to hear what type of job we are discussing, what is the estimated difficulty, and what is the return we can expect if we do your bidding."

He looks at you and then nods in agreement. "I understand. I can tell you that you will be extracting a high profile person and bringing them to a secure location. it will not be easy but a group of your size and hopefully capabilities should be able to handle it. As for pay," He looks around at you all then slides a credstick to the middle of the table. "you will each split that amount however you see fit. That is what you receive should you accept the job. That amount of money could mean independence from the Ciarnello for at least half a year. It seemed this was the job he was waiting for. Puppeteer considered for a moment what he heard. ”Thank you, that is adequate for making a decision, and the conditions are acceptable.” After hearing out the detailed description, he was ready with the questions. ”Is the place where we have to bring this person to inside the city? If you surveyed his residence for security, you must know where it is, I’d like to receive that information along with the address of his office. Do you know anything about why he is in Seattle? An accurate answer to that might raise our chances for success considerably.”

Pretty chunk of chump change... Jade leans forward, her attention on the Johnson.

"High profile means lots of security. Especially for the type of target you've described. Are you worried about discretion? There are thousands of ways this could go bad. Mr. Pale Skin here..."  Jade gestures casually towards Puppeteer "brings some very valid points to the table. I'm going to need to know a little more about this and the situation involved at all possible."

Wheels made a point of removing his monocle before the man sat down at the table, last thing he wanted to do was be accused of recording the meet.
Woah Woah Woah, you're willing to drop 250k each and a 50k advance as an opening Gambit? Whoever the hell he is, that kind of money means this guy is gonna create a serious shitstorm when he temporarily dissapears, let alone probably being guarded heavily. I'm not willing to stake my life on this job without the assurances that we'll get backup once this job is completed.
I want to see that payment increase, and I want assurances of safehouse provision. Then you tell us who the hell we're trying to lift.

He looks at you wheels with a stare that is cold and calculated. He then says,"First off, it is 250k total. And second there will be a safe house for you to lay low in. Now in regards to the payment, you make some good points so i'll throw in another 20k nuyen but no more than that. he then waits for wheels to either agree or be escorted from the room.

Should wheels agree he will be privy to the conversation that everyone else is privy to.

He looks at each of you as you ask your questions and then says,"His adress is 2876 springfield lane. The government office is located at 1600 Pentlane Avenue. All other information will be sent to your commlinks shortly after this meeting ends. Any more questions?"
Title: Re: [IC] The elephant in Seattle
Post by: Csjarrat on <01-31-14/1040:35>
Wheels knew it was a longshot going for 250k each, but it was better to try and fail than accept your lot in life. 270K plus a 50k bonus was still damn good money, even when split a few ways.
Doing the sums, he figured he could live for most of the year on this haul alone, even whilst living very comfortably.
Listening to the Johnson describing the details of a local government officer as the target chilled him. A strike on the 'feds was more than likely to mean trouble. Trouble of the long lasting kind.
The payment was generous though, probably worth the risks. Its not like he had much else on either...
Wheels nodded his assent to the proposition, scribbling down the addresses on the touchpad of his commlink's to-do list for safe keeping.
What's the hard-deadline on this job? You said a day or two, do you have anything more specific than that?
Wheels' mind went into overdrive. He knew he could get the team and the target in and out, but shit, the numbers of guards and an armoured motorcade made him think again about taking this job on.
With such a small team, there was no way a head-on strike could work. They would have to be pretty clever about this one.

This is starting to get out of hand. Even the initial payment is an exceptional amount, and now these perks... Even though i'm not planning on taking any of those, it indicates a high probability of retribution, and in force. Puppeteer was less enthusiastic than a few minutes ago. Still, he already gave his word, and it was all you really had in the shadows, so he wasn't going to back out yet. "I think we all agreed basically to do this beforehand, we are just discussing details now. The safehouse will surely be useful for a time. As for the others, we'll see." He shrugged and looked at the Johnson for a few seconds. His next words were for the team, though. "I think we have to take a look at the information that will be sent. And it must be intentional, hiding some in the deeper shadows of a shadow. We must be careful, lest our spirits depart to the Beyond. He continued to the other runners. ”I agree that we should check this safehouse but I suggest we do our planning separately. I don’t like to be watched all the time.”
He raised from his seat while he spoke. ”There’s something else. Now that it is sure we’ll work together, I feel it is time for me to introduce myself seriously. I’m known to people in our line of work as Puppeteer. You can use that name but please continue to refer to me as Jonathan if we are in the open. Puppeteer showed up at the parking lot as he promised, with two big cases and a small backpack. He asked the others to help him put those in the trunk. The cases were not heavy but somewhat bulky for the elf’s thin and seemingly weak build.
When they arrived at the safehouse, he answered Wheels with the same sarcasm. ”I bet they have a few more than we can find. Oh, and the Johnson provided us with the key just now. Do you think it is coincidence that we just arrived?” Considering the rest of the message, he was very curious what the Johnson thought would be a useful weapon for an Awakened person like him. Before entering, though, he opened his eyes on the astral and checked the neighborhood. He always liked to know what mood there was in the background, and it was also useful to see if a mana barrier could be sensed from the outside.

When he saw all the gear collected, he started to like the situation even less. Uh-oh. This is more than just a simple kidnapping case. None packs this heavy for just that. Spirits help me, the stuff in this house alone must worth seven figures, and we didn’t even see what’s built in the walls. Oh, Great King, help me unveil this mystery lest it consumes us all.
After packing down, he went to help Alerion in sorting the magical gear. ”Mind if I join you?” It was better if he didn’t touch the guns. He wasn’t particularly averse towards technology, but he didn’t know how to handle them, and better stay on the safe side of things.

Make sure you've got gloves on. We don't really want our prints all over these weapons.
What shotguns or rifles we got? any assault shotguns?

@Ren You think maybe a mage had something to do with it but don't know what he could have done.

Jade looks up through the weapons; there was more here than even she was equipped to handle...she contemplated putting in a call to make use of her skillwire system and see if she could get some skill with these heavier arms if need be.
As she carefully inventoried the gear, a thought came to her.

This isn't going to be an extraction or kidnapping; this is assault and destruction. Nothing here is non-lethal. Much less even comparable to anything subtle. This much fire power for us means he's trying to dump hot gear on us or trying to gear us up for a bloodbath...

Jade packed her gear and set it aside, deciding that there were bigger fish to fry. Jade heads downstairs to the rest of the team, praying there was a soycaf machine down there.

Do we have any information new on our target? Cause something tells me we aren't just here for a simple bait and switch kidnapping...

What the fuck have I gotten into here?
Wheels slips his gloves on and rifles through the shotgun bag.
Holy shit, this is some serious hardware...
He picks up the military issue assault shotguns, inspecting them for signs of use; serial numbers, ID codes and such

invisible castle is down again, had to use rolz.org.
14D6R5 =>  [ 4; 10; 5; 5; 3; 3; 11; 5; 3; 5; 2; 1; 9; 5 => 8 success(es) against 5 ] = 8 | ones: 1
8 successes on perception test: active search for signs of usage or ID.

When Puppeteer enter and asks if he can join, she nods. Looking at the few items laid out on the table. "You have any use for these? They look interesting.  Not much of a guns person myself." She gestures back at the other room with where the cybered-lady is picking through the remaining bags.

Wondering what the hell they'd gotten themselves into, wheels draws up a search terminal and hits the AR controls, punching in a search on their target.
He skims through the recent news, looking for any high profile reports from the past 6 months

Puppeteer touched one of the carved bone talismans on his coat and smiled. "I have my own fetishes, all that i need anyway. The foci are a completely different category. I surely would have use for those, had i the necessary energies to bond any. Although i seriously doubt our employer would let me keep even one, considering the foci are worth more than 100.000 apiece."

Jade sits, letting her thoughts dwell on the firepower upstairs and the assorted bits of information she had. Hopefully, someone in this group had gleaned some different information.

"Alright guys, lets go find a meeting spot and get the hell away from here while we discuss a few things."

@Checkmate
Was there anywhere within a few blocks here that looked like a Matrix Café, Coffee shop, Club, or anything else where we could be public and still have cover of noise from the surroundings?

Where to then?

Puppeteer gladly followed the others to a different place to discuss some things. His mistrust towards their employer increased somewhat in the last ten minutes, and he was satisfied that he wasn’t the only one to feel it. And the coffee would be welcome if they needed to plan.

When they arrived at the mall and everyone had their drinks, he jumped in medias res, in a quiet voice. ”I don’t like that place the Johnson gave us as a safehouse. It stinks of too much secrets, and the tools placed there would be enough to equip a team at least with twice as much people as ours. And the astral shows something very disturbing there, something I’ve never seen or heard of before. Under different circumstances I’d gladly examine it in length but as things stand now, I’d rather not.” He looked in the eyes of the others briefly, his disturbing red eyes showing nothing but serious intent. ”So, what is your take on this all?”

My take is that this is a suicide mission. That kind of hardware against that kind of target means we're either not meant to survive, or not meant to succeed.
I say we bolt for the border.
Wheels takes a big swig of the soycaf and rests back into the chair.
I mean, I've been wracking my brain, trying to think of ways to pick this guy up, but I can't see that hitting his motorcade is a good plan. Multiple heavily cybered outriders don't make for an easy target, and you can sure as hell bet that his transporter will be armoured and armed if the outriders are that kitted up.
The best bet is the residence, but we've still got to get through security and back out again with an unwilling target. Seattle will be sending their best boys-in-blue out too the second the alarm is raised.
I'm open to ideas guys, talk.
Wheels is clearly unhappy. His gestures indicate a deep frustration, or maybe it was fear?

Ahh...java....

"Yeah, this job looks like a suicide mission. There are way too many expensive toys back there for us to be getting through this. However, we can look into trying to find a way to do this. As Wheels mentioned, we may not have the ability to take a non-willing target out of his home; but how about a way to make him willing?

Jade is casually keeping an eye out while we sit at the coffee table for anyone paying us attention. Primarily a tail, but anyone at this point merits attention.

Perception (Visual) +3 for actively looking = 15d6. 6 successes.

Puppeteer's face was distorted by a somewhat sinister smile. ”Actually, I can ask a servant of the Great King to possess our target when we are there. That has two advantages and one disadvantage. On the plus side, we won’t have to carry him around and if we get into the thick of it, maybe his own security will hesitate to attack if they believe the person they intend to protect is willing to participate in the fight against them. On the minus, I can only summon one servant at a time, so on other fronts, I will be able to help less.
“Of course, this solution assumes that none of his astral security is there to banish the servant from this world, otherwise we might suddenly find ourselves in the worst possible scenario. To prepare for this case, I might be able to request this aid earlier today, but it takes me a few hours to do so and I need to procure some incense and a few other items as focal points for the ritual. Depending on the strength of the servant, I may well be out for half a day.”

That is not good news to hear. So be prepared for voodoo hoodoo to take over bodies now...I really need to start regularly reading into magic theory...

"Ok, let's assume that plan might work, and it can just go south from there. How close do you have to be in order to get this to work? And long can you get him to be cooperative? There's a lot of potential firepower we can bring to bear if need be. So we only really have to get him to a drop point and he will enter our custody."

As an added note, Jade turns off her wireless function from her commlink, then using a notepad-esque program, she types in quickly "We are likely not alone; we are likely being tailed already." and sets her commlink in the middle of the little table they are sitting at.
She resumes the conversation as normal;

"And after that, what then?"

”They have a very good chance to do that, unless the one they are trying to possess has both an extreme force of will and good instincts to help him defend against this kind of intrusion. Of course, the more powerful a spirit is, the more chance it has to succeed.” Puppeteer’s voice took a scholarly tone, he was almost like giving a lecture. He fumbled with his commlink absentmindedly, switching it to offline mode while speaking. ”And I don’t have to be close, I just have to be able to identify him to the spirit. It is useful to remain within a few hundred meters though, in case I have to modify the request I made. The biggest hurdle in this method’s way may be a barrier. If the spirit has to cross one to get to him, it will alert the one who set the barrier up, and can also take time to force himself through. But once he possessed someone, he will remain inside until he finished what I asked him to do or I give a different order requiring him to leave.”

Jade takes a long draw from her soy-cachino, then leans forward.

"Well, here's a rough sketch; we get a vehicle as close as we can without getting anyone trigger happy. This is going under the assumption that Jonathan here can get our guy in his sights.
If he can, then we simply take control and have him come running for us.

If not, I have an idea, but not one I'm sure will work;
If you can possess one of the bodyguards, do so and have him approach our boy. Maybe tell him that the rest of the security team has been compromised and he's the safe link? Have them both come running to us, and we'll just use a taser on Mr. Snuffy and continue on our merry way..."

Well its sure as hell the nearest thing we've got to a plan so far.
Don't worry about the vehicle side of things. I can get us pretty damn close.
I did have a question though; this all seems too easy? I mean if any mage can summon up some freakin mojo spirit to overcome people, howcome it aint on the trids every day?
can he defend against it? is he gonna be travelling with a mojoslinger on his team or what?

Okay. So thats a pretty good option then, but I'd definitely assume that whatever he's driving is gonna be heavily secured, reinforced glass, one-way locks and such. We may have difficulty getting him out. how strong can that mojo make him?
