Title: glasses and contacts and mods
Post by: Chummer2075 on <02-09-14/1545:20>
Can you use the mods in glasses and contacts at the same time or only one or the other separately?

You can use both at once.

I know its  a bit of an old topic, but I believe you could..

use implanted augmentations in your eyes, and contacts, and glasses/goggles, and a helmet, and top it off with a monocle on the helmet.

Yes, but then you start to run the risk of looking like this guy:

which is better than looking like this guy, I suppose:

Well, you could also look like this guy.

Triskavanski: that was the kind of image I was originally looking for!  Your Google-fu is strong.  What did you use to search for that image?

I get that some vision enhancements will work together. Like having flare compensation in your contacts and vision magnification in your goggles....

but what if your goggles have low light vision (which pick up near infrared radiation and transform it to a digital picture - you are basically looking at a monitor)

....and your contact lenses have thermographic vision (which pick up deep infrared radiation and transform it to a digital heat map)

how will your contact lenses pick up heat signatures from the digital picture of your low light vision goggles (the monitors in your goggles)

I would say that duplicating vision enhancements (such as those from Low-light and Thermographic) would either not be compatible at the same time, or that you only get the better of the two benefits.

Presumably they won't, unless the goggles are designed to not block thermographic signatures. If you're out of luck there, maybe it's time to wear glasses instead.

Either way, Lowlight only matters when partial / dim lighting is the worst penalty, while thermo only matters when visibility or light are the worst penalty.
