What's the highest possible dice pool for a skill test in Shadowrun 5E? It seems like it would be an adept Troll who really, really likes rappelling.
You could have a Troll with 16 body, thanks to Exceptional Attribute quality and Improved Physical Attribute adept power. Next, you could have 13 skill points in Free Fall if you took the Aptitude quality. You could then use Improved Ability adept power to up that by 7 skill points to 20 (assuming you round up.) Then if it was assisted climbing and easily climbable surface, that's a +3.
So it looks like it would 39 Dice. Is it possible to get higher than that in 5E?

Oops - forgot Edge of 6 for 45 dice.
-
Magic can theoretically go infinite. Magic 12, Spellcasting 12, Mentor Spirit, Specialization, Focus Force 6, Force 12 Bound Spirit with Aid Sorcery would be 46.
-
A Troll THAT heavy who is also THAT good at repelling is going to be moving hella fast. Better look out below, that's a death from above attack if I've ever heard of one.
Don't forget the "Lucky" quality for edge too. That makes it 46 for the falling-Troll-bomb or 54 if that caster is human with an 8 edge.

They speak of him in hushed tones - the Descending Blur . . . the Falling Terror . . . The Rappeller.
Coming to theaters this fall.

N8: the example already has Exceptional Attribute, so they're not allowed to have Lucky as well. Also, with 8 Edge instead of 7, wouldn't it be 47 (not 54) instead of 46?
-
Huh. I didn't realize you couldn't take exceptional attribute and lucky at the same time. My mistake.
I don't think Michael had added in Edge yet, so another +8 makes 54.
-
Ah, you were talking about two seperate things, so 46 for the troll's 39 and 54 for the caster's 46. My bad.
