WARNING MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS
I am looking for some upper trier enemies for my runners so I looked trough the books for what kind of manpower the different factions could throw at them
And also wanted to catalogue this element of the settings for a long time.
But I would some help
I am not just looking for names but also loadout, tactics, a bit of history and style... and most important reference to where they appear in the books (all ed, missions, sups etc etc)
PS: This thread will be cleared up on a later note.
For now I know of
RRT: Rapid Response Team
FRT: Fast Response Team
ERT: Emergency Response Team
HRT: High-threat Response Team
General
SR5 page 384. Standard off-the-shelves badasses.
Marines/Expeditionary Soldiers WAR! (from SR4A) page 147. They are Professional Rating 5
Special Forces WAR! (from SR4A) page 149. They are Professional Rating 6. (You might want to add them a heavy pistol).
These can be your bread and butter for a GM. When these quys shows up your players know they stepped over the line. Advice use them for MET20k elite members.

The Veil
Secret organisation inside the Defense Department for the UCAS. Their greatest weapon is that
Mercs
All these are from the 10 Mercs
Free Marines
Mercenaries. Former Marines of CAS or UCAS?? can call in voodoo priest to help out in their one area of weakness, Magic.
Team Zero
Dragons and drakes. Mostly former UCAS SEALs. Have a shadowrunners style. They all have this special dagger, that for the awakened members can be a weapon foci.
Bravo Company.
Half military half shadowrunners in loadout. Their leaders shadowname is Rifleman. From what fiction in 10 mercs tells us, they can work with other merc outfits like the 77th rangers. Bravo company tactics seem to that of shock troops, while having other outfits supporting them with stuff like artillery. They are capable of handling magic and mudane threats, but maybe not matrix beyond having a couple of combat hackers.
Crime Syndicates
Triad Posse
While not elite units they are often the criminal organisations best fighters.
Kobin
Former Japanse marines. Use Red Samurai stats. Supported by kumi-in (use Triad Posse stats)

Later I would like to maybe make a gdoc about this.
I would like to find a all fantasy elite unit if there isnt one.

20 Mercs has some info for elite (and no-so-elite) merc units for 4E. It wouldn't be too hard to translate it to 5th.
-
In the River City Shootout section of Artifacts Unbound there is an npc named Felicia McGuiness or something like that. She's one of Tir Na Nog's elite bodyguard/assassin/spies, her unit translates to bloody body. She's working with a team of exUCAS Special Forces so you get stats for both in one section. Also in the book is her cousin, I think that's there relation anyway, and he's more of a regular Republican Corps tech/commo guy.
-
Ghost Cartels also had a FBI HRT team in it. I worked on something like this ages ago, but I don't know where my notes are.
Keep in mind that while the stats for these guys will be good-to-great, what sets them apart from Joe Runner is their training and teamwork.

Thanks so far
Kincaid@ I believe thar was 10 mercs right?
FBI team nice.

The old Corporate Security Handbook has a lot of details on how Knight Errant functions (or at least how it functioned in 2055). While Knight Errant didn't do police work at the time, it has a lot on their execsec teams (Executive Security), persec teams (corporate screening and information gathering essentially) and a bit on their actual security guards.
While they're pretty much the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to equipment, the same source has a brief blurb about Hard Corps as well. Hard Corps is part of Ares also, but was always handed the dirty contracts that might harm Knight Errants image. They get the second run of applicants based on psyche screening (just as skilled, but with scary screening results).
The old Lone Star book has a great breakdown on their Fast Response Teams (FRTs) and SWAT, as well as how the FRTs were created.
Lone Star FRT (12 man Squad)
Shock Gloves, 2 Concussion Grenades, Colt Manhunter or Ruger Thunderbolt
8 carry HK-227s
2 carry AUG-CSL Assault Rifles
1 carries CMDT Shotgun
1 carries MA 2100 Sniper Rifle
Usually arrive in Citymasters or WK-2 Stallion Choppers.
Lone Star SWAT (16 man Squad)
8 Riflemen
1 Decker
1 Mage
4 Snipers
2 Spotters
A big thing to remember with Lone Star (and most likely Knight Errant) is that they are always carrying Jazz. The drug was designed by Lone Star to keep it's officers able to compete with chromed criminals, and is issued regularly. Fortunately, the 2075 formula is much less damaging than the 2055 batch was.

Reformed a bit of the text. Anyone know of some Mission one can look up top tie grunts.

Knights of Rage. IIRC Celedyrs black ops. One of them is in Artifacts: Dusk:
A special operative loyal to Celedyr, Medjay is a member of
the Knights of Rage, a Nubian/Celtic group that answers only to
the great dragon himself. Medjay is oft en tasked with international
assignments due to his ability to blend in with the crowd, his skill
at manipulating social situations, and his broad spectrum of useful
skills (due to his skillwires). He prefers to use social skills rather than
force, but when the time for talk is done, Medjay is brutally effi cient
at winning a fi ght.
Medjay often wears traditional Nubian robes, woven from
organic cotton and hand-embroidered. Th e voluminous robes are
quite eff ective at hiding his form-fi tting body armor and a myriad
of weapons.

The Chimera wetworker is detailed in Splintered States--pretty nasty folks.
-
Thanks Maybe the Black Knights... I will have to compared them to other top tier grunts stats,,, The Chimera most be there.
-
If you are ttalking about Tosh's unit from KE I wouldn't call them anywhere near top tier. The fluff and crunch really separated there.

Mercs
All these are from the 10 Mercs
Free Marines
Mercenaries. Former Marines of CAS or UCAS?? can call in voodoo priest to help out in their one area of weakness, Magic.
SEAL Team Zero
Dragons and drakes. Have a shadowrunners style
Bravo Company.
Half military half shadowrunners in loadout. the ingame runner picador knows of them (is one of them?)
Snipped a bit, but wanted to clear a few things up.
The Free Marine Corps were formed when the USA split into the UCAS and CAS. As the name implies, they hold no real allegiance to either (technically) but recruits from Paris Island still seem to find their way into the FMC.
"Seal Team Zero" is just "Team Zero". They are bunch of former (emphasis there) UCAS SEALs who decided to give the UCAS the middle finger and go independent. And they have nothing to do with dragons or drakes, you may be thinking of New Assets.
As for Picador, she is not a member of Bravo Company but rather is the CO of her own unit: the 77th Independent Rangers. Both units have a bit of shared history and have been known to work together in the past. Picador and current Bravo Company CO, known as Rifleman, are known to be close friends.
Hope this helps some!

Super!! Thank you...
