Title: SR - 5th [IC] - On the Run2
Post by: Sincereagape on <03-21-14/1306:57>
March 22, 2075, Seattle, UCAS.

While the world' adjusts to the events of the early 2075, the exile of the great dragon, Hestaby, and the implementation or return of the old matrix system, a portion of the Seattle metroplex remained still....that is until tonight.  Roughly 5 years ago, a group of runners were hired by a troll fixer named, Darius St. George to retrieve and find a rare musical 'CD' that was rumored to contain a lost session recorded by the elven musician, Jet Black.

No one is sure whatever happened to the missing CD, other then it might have come into contact with Darius, or a mid-level exec from Horizon named Ari Tarkasian.  The lost songs were never placed on the market, thus the fortune was yet to be made.  This is the second part of this story, and a "what if" scenario of the sixth world....

All of you are in your respected dossiers/safe houses when you are contacted by respected contacts....

@Wilder -- <<Wilder,

You know who this is.  I have a job proposition for you, one that will pay for your rent this month and more.  If you're interested meet in front of the Daisy Chain bar in the Tarislar neighborhood in Puyllup, tonight, 2200.  I will require 15% of the job take for helping  you find this job of course.  Standard fee going forward.

I want a percentage.  I need the money James, that is the only reason I am letting you know about this."

@Red Queen --

<<Your majesty,  I have been chasing a nice pink bunny all through the forest, and when I finally caught up with it, the cutie jumped own a large rabbit hole.  There was a delicious smell of cakes and muffins from within. Full of yummies and goodies for us to eat!

The hole lead to Pullyup, Tarislar in front of the Daisy Chain.  2200!  Tonight!

Please share what you find!

Oh yes, there was a sign that said bring the "Laughing Bear" in order to serve the desert!

Heee."

A job is a job.  Rent is due, food is soy, and this might be a chance to spread some goodness into the world...and get paid for it.

Elizebeth sighed a little looking at the message blinking in her dreamscape. She stannds from her bed, a gorguous gown dropping off her sholders fading into the data of the matrix. All around her where AOs, tp diguise the hideous thruth behind them. She moved over to a nearby bag, pulling out her cloths and a heavy crimson coat, soon pulling the getting dressed.

Well, she was ready. Glancing at her clock she figured she had time to make a new pet.

"Come to me Cheshire.." she said reaching out a hand, a wide grin starting to form in the matrix.

Adam was just finishing up giving his guns an oil and cleaning. When he noticed the voicemail. With all to familiar pang of guilt, tinged with annoyance. She still blames me. Hell I still blame me. But she could have given me some more details. http://orokos.com/roll/175903

Mentally scrolling though his cheap com's contact list trying to figure out who might have called Angela. Screw it call Chuck, Adam ended up using voice commands when he was alone, some how more satisfying then controlling something with thought..
As he waited for Chuck to answer Adam loaded his APV and Streeline Special and holstered them both. And began trying to make a mental list of the stuff he should gather for an unknown job in the Barrens. I hate going in blind like this, hope chuck can at least tell me something about the bar.

message to weasel: wakarimashita weasel-san, end message and send.

Wetwork uh? i guess it will not hurt to hear the sales pitch...but killer for hire...shaking her head and looking at the capsule interior Clara wondered if she could lay down and think matters over, plenty had happened in the last few days and a few hours to sort matters was probably what she needed. No, here will not do, i can even hardly breath in this dingy space as it is

Looking at the blue commlink apparatus next to her, Clara thought it better to check the neighbourhood before calling a cab search news feeds: daisy chain, new search: Tarislar neighbourhood. display daisy chain surrounding area map, 500m zoom  while waiting for the results, Clara grabbed her yellow tinted wraparound glasses and waited for the hits, the capsule dimmed the Redmond sounds, and the interiors of Comfy Cubicles where nothing but comfy Well at least they got half the description right... the cubicle part... thought Clara.

Broken glass and fried soychips crunched underfoot as Wilder skulked through the ruins of the Stuffer Shack, an Ingram Smartgun clutched in his chromed grip."Attention suspect: we have you surrounded," came the cold metallic voice of the Knight Errant drone outside. "Relinquish your weapon and come out with your hands up. Compliance is mandatory, and will be enforced."

Smirking faintly, Wilder rose up from his crouch and leveled his gun at the two white-painted steel lynxes prowling outside. "Here's your compliance, breeders." Before he could pull the trigger, however, he picked up the telltale hum of a machine gun winding up. A coruscation of light dazzled his vision, the weapon-mounted flashlights of the twin drones creating a kaleidoscope of colors to Wilder's excited perception. His chipped reflexes kicking into high gear, Wilder ran madly through the rows of snack cakes and krill bars as the drones released their payload, shredding the tattered remnants of the Stuffer Shack with another explosive barrage of hot lead.

Running to the cover of another row of shelves, the barrage came into contact with one with of the few windowpanes not yet shattered in the urban warzone. Wilder evaded the bullets, barely, but the scintillating shards of broken glass washed over his form. Tiny crystals peppered his cheeks, and every cut was an orgasm. The Ingram chattered in his hand, and the recoil felt like a shiatsu massage. The whine of machine gun fire built to a crescendo again, and Wilder shivered as the adrenaline ran through him like electricity. He was alive.

And then suddenly the row of snack cakes was gone, left only with a blurry smear of pixels. Caught in the open, the drones' second assault seemed destined to rip apart Wilder's fragile form, but instead passed through him impossibly, leaving gaping fractal patterns in the opposite wall that continued to literally chew the scenery, the bullet-riddled Stuffer Shack gradually degrading into chunky pixels before slipping into the void. Soon all that was left was the bare gray ceiling of Wilder's apartment, and the blinking green ARO notification of a missed commcall from Daddy Warbacks.

"How does that guy always know when to call just when the chip peaks?" Wilder sighed as he reviewed the message and clambered up from the bare mattress on the floor that served as his bed. He glanced over at the slumbering form of Marissa, taking a moment to admire the sight of her shapely, panty-clad human backside. "Have to go, dear heart. Those adrenaline chips you scored were good shit, but it looks like I'm partaking in the real thing tonight. When I get paid, we need to pick up some orgy chips and party. Maybe some mood beetles, hmm?" Whether Marissa was sleeping or in the throes of a chip herself, Wilder wasn't sure. He was never quite sure, in fact, but saw no reason to disturb her.

He took a moment to adjust his messy hair in the dingy mirror of their apartment before pulling on his armored jacket, the padded shoulders and stiff material helping to obscure his chrome a bit and also add a bit of intimidating bulk to his rather slim (for an ork) frame. He strapped on his real Ingram Smartgun, put his shades in his front pocket, and grabbed his helmet on the way out.

He'd rather spend all day in bed, who wouldn't? But he had debts to pay and ecstasy in chip form didn't pay for itself.

@Red Queen-

Sprite resistance - 6,6,3,4,2,1 = 3 net hits!  I believe you must now resist 4 fade.  Res + Willpower + anything else your character has.

The Cheshire Cat gives a long yawn just after the initial smile.  There are eyes that suddenly appear along with smile.

<<No more lounging around I suppose.  The world awaits us my queen, an idle mind is a devil's playground.>>

Within the matrix, the Cheshire cat slowly begins to form, floating on a small cloud just above your head.  In a relaxed position it floats above your icon flexing his cheek muscles by smiling and then frowning.  Smiling and then frowning.

@Blurr, via an email.

<<Hey buddy, heading to the Daisy Chain tonight?  Interesting choice for a meet.  Here is what I know, first it is in the heart of Tarislar, Elven territory.  The bar has a gothic club theme to it and is a elysium between the Ancient and the Laesa.  Both groups have a mutual understanding at the Daisy Chain, no monkey business, keep things professional, and cool.  And if any yaboo decides to start trouble, both sides will keep the peace and enforce the law.

Hope you like dealing with pointy ear elves chummer.  You're going to be surrounded by them.>>

@Aka - An image zooms of the Daisy Chain located at SE 400 St and 196th Ave SE in Puyallup.  A swarm of go-gangers drive by the bar just as you begin to zoom in.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
[This happens between the hours of 2130 and 2200 in front of the Daisy Chain bar and lounge.]]

2130-2200, Tarislar, Puyallup, Seattle, UCAS.

The Puyallup section of Seattle has seen a large renovation since the 50s.  Once known as one step up from Redmond, the district had been revitalized by various races, corporations, and nations placing their immigrant population in the area.  If you're a non-Elf, the moment you step into Tarislar, you def have a feeling that you are not welcome.

Tarislar is an area of Seattle that is heavily populated by elves who have moved from the Tir.  Homes that were once vacant and abandoned have now turned into mini-apartment complexes.  There were actual parks and small forests area in between pockets of buildings with trees that seem in the process of budding their leaves.  There is a feeling of magic supporting these trees, as perhaps the imbuned elves of the area had been using their abilities to enhance the area.

The Daisy Chain is located on the corner of SE 400 st and 196th Ave SE.  The block the bar is located at has architecture of the old Tir Tairngire.  Monolthic mini-castles, large parks, that is until you reach the corner where the bar was.  At the major intersection, there was the bar in the SE side, a stuffer shack in the NE corner, a fine coffee shop NW, and on the SW corner a wrought iron fence which served as a gate into another dense area of trees, bushes, and plush park like beauty.

Parked in front of the stuffer shack are three elves on gothic make up, leaning against and talking around a red Hyundai Shin-Hyung, eating nuked food that they purchased from the shack.  They look to be about college age.  They are speaking in English and checking their commlinks every other minute like it is a bad habit.

The ARO display of the Daisy Chain sprouts a wilted large mammoth oak tree from the worlds of fantasy.  It bears no leaves nor fruit, and is black and decayed in the body.  There are crows perched on It's branches.  The ARO display has a sign in crooked spray paint saying "the Daisy Chain"  From within you can hear a mellow depressing song being sung by a male elf voice.  The front of the bar has three elves dressed in suits, long braided hair.  They have the movements of those who are heavily chromed with some type or combination of enhancements.

All of you receive a correction text from your various contacts..

<<The Johnson stated to meet in front of the wrought iron fence on the SW corner of the Daisy Chain intersection.  They also slotted us 500 nuyen to pass along to you for showing up at the meeting.>>

[[Aka, Wilder, Red Queen, and Blurr each receive 500 nuyen when you enter Tarislar]]

Leaning against the wrought iron fence about a quarter block away from the entrance of park, there is an elf with bronze skin and a black nano tattoo of a knight chess piece starting on the arch of his right eyebrow and going down to the bridge of his jaw.  The elf is tall and slim for his race, standing roughly 6'1 or 1.85 meters.  The tattoo is glowing various neon colors.  He is wearing a black and purple lined coat and has his black hair pulled up in a pony-tail.

Resting her head against his chest, there a female elf with long brown hair, a pink mini-skirt, and a leather jacket with a crooked A painted on the back.  She is standing on his left side, with her hand placed around his heart, tracing various images across his chest.

The smug elf looks up at each of you as you arrive, and then brushes you off by looking up and tilting his neck, "Pshhh." is his expression each time.

Dang it.. ><. Figures the roll I used to test to make sure I got it right rolled really well. http://orokos.com/roll/176335 And confirming I got the command right.. I roll really bad. Well, here's hoping the cat fails on his defense check. ><

<<Bear, we have a job to do.. and I'm afraid Cheshire is being a bit of a napper this time around.>> she quickly sends a message to Bear as she beings her six hours of registering cheshire before the mission started. She hasn't the slightest clue why she decompiled them before, though she remembers Caterpillar saying something about the rules of wonderland or some silly such nonsense.

Overall though, she's not impressed with her work, not one bit, and the kids across the way having a rocking dubstep concert wasn't helping much either. She'll be heading to Daisy chain soon, but she doesn't like to go without at least one of her entourage.

Thanks Chuck, I owe you a mojito. Adam pulls out his disguise kit and sets it up the various makeups, wigs, fake piercings and simple prosthetic on the kitchen table. Now if I were a goth elf wannabie what would I wear. He sets his jumpsuit to a of the shelf black and red design. Opts for a wig of red and black dreadlocks. Some fingerless gloves over Demi-plast knuckles, combat boots and a spiked collar and he's starting to look a little less like he'd standout in a dark club. Dropping a flashpak in his back pocket, he clips a small mic to the inside of the jumpsuit. After a some thought grabs his gas mask and hangs it from his belt. Isn't too often I can just pass this off as a fashion accessory. A little goth eye-make to finish the ensemble. http://orokos.com/roll/176350 It was sloppy but at least he didn't look like an ex soldier anymore.
After throwing a few things in a backpack, Telescoping Staff, MTC Fly-spy drone, Lock pick set, Tear gas Grenade, Detonator cap x2, 4kg of commercial explosives, Plastic restraints x10  he grabbed his helmet, hopped on his bike and headed out.

Responding to Ms. Liddle's message, Dr. Greyhaven replies, "'We, Kitten? 'We' who?. And what's this 'job' you're trying to rope me into, dear? Is one of your shadowy friends leaking from holes they weren't born with, again? I make it a point to learn what I'm getting into before I go running out to make a house-call, especially in that neighborhood."

Good afternoon 'ma'am, please state your destination chirped the  electronic dogbrain in the red GridCab, it was one of the few companies operating in this part of Redmond, and the fastest one to respond to Clara's request.

Clara dropped the jacket with some of her possessions next to her seat in the back of the Opel Luna GridCab, the remaining stuff was stored in a Bus terminal in the outskirts of Redmond bordering Renton.

Armor Clothing; flash pak; commlink; glasses; ear buds; stimpatch

I´ll upload the destination Clara said while fumbling with the commlink There we go she said after 20 seconds Thank you for choosing gridCab, please enjoy your trip Chirped the cab's DogBrain voice synthesizer

She look at the reflection on the cab's window, a small frayed black leather jacked with a dark shirt underneath, blue jeans (somewhat worn out by age)  and a pair of brown snickers, all good and plain to draw the least attention possible, the orange plain cloth choker and the yellow tinted wraparound glasses where probably the most conspicuous pieces of the attire, but the first hid the subvocal microphone and the second was almost a necessity nowadays. the trip took long enough through the Seattle neighbourhoods, checking on her map how close by they where and noticing they where just 3 blocks away Clara focused her attention on the view ahead and murmuring softly she entoned:

Acção e reacção
Rapidez e intuição
faz da minha vontade a tua acção
guia célere a minha mão

spell casting throw http://orokos.com/roll/176437 ; drain throw http://orokos.com/roll/176438 ; agility increase of +4 and sustaining it at null disadvantage

Feeling the familiar tingle of the mana rushing through her, Clara gingerly flexed her hands that was easy, never go unprepared into a possible hostile area, Tanaka sensei was always correct in that assessment... thought Clara only to be interrupted by the synth voice I did not understood your request ma'am, could you repeat again?, Nevermind Cab-san, stop the car one block away, the next intersection up ahead should be good

Removing the credstick from the slot and frowning at the expense Clara just nodded and said flatly thank you Cab-san , our pleasure ma'am, Thank you for choosing Gridcab  chirped the synth voice over the dashboard. Slamming the door shut and looking at the map display in her glasses Clara started strolling down the street towards the destination Well, at least is a step up from most places in Redmond, looking around to check if anything out of the ordinary was happening Clara quickly made it to the rendezvous spot.

perception+intuition w/ +2 mod throw http://orokos.com/roll/176518 2 hits Vs threshold 3

watching the two elfs and their initial reaction as Clara approached, she closed the gap and looked them in the eye and said Are you waiting for someone Elf-San?

Elizabeth frowns at the message.

<<You were requested for the tea party, refusal is not an option.>> She quickly responds back. Like the story, Elizabeth was still a bit forceful with things. <<Unless you've become so wealthy you can provide everything for your children. If you wish information, look for it.>>

Wilder hopped on his bike and started it up. His Gridguide was always off by default, and within moments he peeled away from the curb outside his apartment and was zig-zagging through the streets at what he considered a leisurely, only slightly illegal pace. While threading a path through the commuting wageslaves and slower bikers, he sent a mental command to the commlink humming away in his left hand. Wilder didn't know much about the Daisy Chain, and didn't care to. He simply pulled up its location on the Matrix, set some directions in a simple HUD in the corner of his vision, and took his sweet time getting there.

When he received Daddy Warbuck's message en route, Wilder smirked a little to himself and sent a message back through his DNI. Getting paid just for showing up? Pretty sweet deal, Mr. Warbucks. And don't worry, I'm headed there now.

Once he got closer to the location for the meet, however, he realized he was pretty unlikely to fit in. Luckily, with his jacket, chrome and nondescript black helmet obscuring his features, it was possible a passerby could mistake him for a human or perhaps a particularly bulky elf. Wilder, in a remarkable display of restraint, slowed down to something approaching the speed limit and did his best to blend in. Elves... Wilder thought to himself. This place is most likely Ancients territory. I'd better watch myself. Wilder couldn't remember if the Winged Axe ever tangled with the Ancients, and he sincerely doubted anybody would remember or recognize him from his old go-gang days, but he decided to keep a low profile nonetheless.

Etiquette roll with no hits, in case it becomes relevant: http://orokos.com/roll/176525

Arriving a bit early for the meet, Wilder pulled up right next to the pair of elves. He didn't appreciate the guy's haugtiness, but... well, elves. That drek sort of came with the territory. Wilder studied the pair from behind the featureless black mirror of his helmet. Their dress was a little unusual, and they really didn't strike him as corporate types. Could they be gangers?

Perception roll, 2 hits, unless it's visual (then I should get 3 more dice): http://orokos.com/roll/176527
Making some knowledge rolls to see if Wilder knows these two from his less savory dealings, recognizes gang signs, anything like that:
Go-Gangs knowledge check, 1 hit: http://orokos.com/roll/176529
Drug Dealers knowledge check, 1 hit: http://orokos.com/roll/176530

@Red Queen -- Within the matrix you extend a leash towards the Cheshire Cat, trying to bring the animal out of it's slothness.

http://orokos.com/roll/176590
Register Resistance sprite level  times 2.  = 12 dice and 2 hits.  Just missed.  >_<.  Once again you must resist a fade of 4.

At the last moment the pink cat leaps off the cloud and on the floor beside you.  The moment his paws touch the matrix floor, the floor turns into a field of grass.  And as the fat cat moves, each step he takes develops and forms another patch of grass like the Great Spirit in Princess Mononoke.

@Blurr -- Your disguise holds up as/if you enter Tarislar.  As long as you do not draw any attention to yourself and keep your eyes focused, no elves bother you the moment you enter the neighborhood.

make an etiquette + charisma check [social]

@Wilder -- OOC - Chummer, I just realized you almost critically glitched on your etiquette test.

About two or three blocks away from the Daisy Chain, you come across a red light.  A trio of Suzuki Mirage motorcycles rides up behind you.  They are all wearing black bike suits with matching black helmets and visors like yourself.  When you stop in front of the wrought iron fence and SW corner you notice those same bikers have parked about half a block down from the Daisy Chain bar, and roughly about a block and a half away from your current position.  Their engines are still humming with the occasional rev and throttle in a parked position from one of the riders.

You take a moment to study the Nano-tattoo elf and the pink skirt wearing female.

Sadly, you do fail on the intuition and perception test.  Visual enhancements do not help with this particular roll.  You do notice the female from one of the tense meetings between the Winged Axes and Ancients.  The crooked A on the back of her jacket is in fact the insignia of the Ancients Go-gang.  She has long black hair, and pale milky skin.  She was an attractive elf at the meeting you saw her in, but not the prettiest one there.  You see a female walk up to the pair.

@Aka - The elf with the nano-tattoo of the horse chess piece matches your eyes.  The color of his pupils is a faint shade of green.  One of his hands rested on the waist of the female elf taking a moment to study him but seeing nothing out of place at the moment.  Underneath the purple and black lined coat is a fashionable dark blue vest over a red shirt.  He is wearing black leather pants and military combat boots of a light brown color.

The female has a light smile on her face and her eyes closed as she continues to draw circles on his chest with the tip of her fingernail, which has been painted green with a large oak tree in the middle.

The male elf looks rather annoyed when Clara approaches him,

"I am not waiting for anyone celenit," the elf spouts.  "Now back off human slitch, and stop invading my personal space, I feel dirty just having you stand near me."

She groans a little shaking her head. Darn cat, making things harder than it should be. She'll have to try later on the registering. For now she moves now towards the place, casting a veil on the cat to prevent GOD from coming down on the sprite.

With that done, she now finally heads to the place as quickly as she can. "here's hoping this goes well Cheshire."

Blurr makes his way to the corner club getting there a little early, but after Wilder and Aka, he decides to pull his Mirage into the Stuffer shake and take a look around while buying a pack of smokes. @Blurr -- Pulling into the parking lot of the stuffer shack, there are three teenage elves standing in front of the Hyundui-Shin Hyung.  They are dressed in very tight black and white gothic attire.  There is two males and one female, they have all dyed their hair a silver metallic color and have make-up on that resembled the 'Crow.'  They obviously made an effort to attend the Daisy Chain for Belaili's latest rendition from within the bar.

One of the males nods upwards to you.  "Nice bike omae."

Looking through the reflection in the mirror you see four individuals at the SW corner where the meet is supposed to occur.  One biker who is parked in front of the fence, a elf couple, and a female figure speaking to them.  The body language of one of the elves becomes slightly agitated.

You also notice a trio of yamaha rapiers stop near the entrance to the Daisy Chain, about a half block down from where you are, away from the wrought iron fence. All three riders have dark visor helmets, and black biker jumpsuits. With your perception test you are able to notice a submachine gun holstered in one of the boots of these riders.

In front of the club, there are two elven bouncers dressed in armored vests, urban camo fatigues, grey outlaw wrap around sunglasses.  They are obviously packing some type of firearms as they chat and smoke..

Patrick clamps down on a sudden surge of blinding anger, stopping himself - barely - from snapping back the first thing that comes to mind as The Red Queen inadvertently pokes a gaping wound that's been a constant agony for the past decade. She should take her own 'advice', the smart-mouthed young twit. Even a cursory background  check on me would have taught her to avoid saying something quite so ... stupidly insensitive. Not trusting himself to respond to her with any semblance of politeness, he yanks the trodes off of his head and goes back to meditating. Several hours later, he gets up, collects his go-bag, slips on his jacket, and heads out the door of his flat.

He'll have with him all of his gear with the exception of the survival kit. The magazine currently loaded in  his sub-gun is filled with gel rounds.

As he exits his apartment building, he nods a greeting to the local ganger providing 'security' this night for the tenants wise enough to pay for 'protection', "Evening, Julio. I'm heading over to Puyallup for a while. Have to meet someone. Don't know how long I'll be. If you need to, you know how to reach me."

"No problemo, Doc. Want I get ya cab?"

"Yes, please. Thanks."

Waiting for a GridCab to arrive, Laughing Bear has some time to ponder. Odds are that this is yet another of her schemes. Still, it's out of her normal comfort zone so there might be something to it, and if anyone's going to pick up some trace it'll be elves. It's not as if I can afford to pass up any chance to find a clue - and the crazy little kit knows it.

A taxi arrives sooner than expected, coming from the direction of the nearby hospital. Must have just dropped someone off.

As Patrick opens the door to the taxi, the ganger waves, "You be safe out there."

Chuckling, Patrick replies, "Safe? In Seattle? Still, the meet's in Tarislar, so it should be tolerably safe. At least for me."

Once in the cab, after giving it his destination, Patrick dons his goggles, inserts his earbuds, and pulls the sub-gun from its shoulder holster to double-check the magazine. Satisfied, he racks a round into the chamber and flicks the safety back on. If I ever need to use this thing the drek will be really deep. He settles in to enjoy the ride over to Puyallup.

The taxi deposits him in front of the Daisy Chain ten minutes before The Red Queen said to be there.

bowing slightly (just enough to be considered an insult) while keeping her eye level on the couple Clara addresses them in a calm tone I am sorry Elf-san it seems i have confused you with someone else

Buying time Clara feels the suffusing effect of her foci rush from her right arm into her entire body, by willpower alone she shifts her focus, the world becomes bright, auras come into focus as the mana leaves its print like a light passing through a water mist creating a rainbow, the dirt becomes dirtier and the living things come to life, the astral forms and colors mingle with physical reality as she addresses the couple.

Elizabeth blinks, as she gets a message saying she got 500 nuyen just for attending. If only they would have given that to me sooner, I wouldn't have had to take the bus. She sighs a little, shaking her head. She couldn't wait to get the job that scores her big time so she didn't have to live in such beat down neighborhoods anymore.

Not knowing the others, and not seeing Bear yet, she begins to turn towards where the meet was.

Looking at the elf's gleaming aura, Clara recognizes the tell tale gleam of one awakened such has herself, the magical signs are all there while the female elf seems mundane, shifting out her view from the astral plane Clara nods toward them while speaking in a mild tone Elf-san, while i may be wrong about you being the one i seek this is still the intended location, so you will have to suffer my presence for a while

While recovering from the bow she assume a loose position, arms on the side of her body and feet slight apart while level with each other as you can see i am unarmed, you would not hurt an unarmed young female, would you elf-san?  says Clara in a coy manner, her arms apart, showing some of the jacket interior, to anyone looking she does not carry any visible weapon, it is however a fighting stance, Shizen tai no kamae, a natural body stance that can shift to attack or defence or counter, one of many that her senseis drilled into her until it became a natural reflex action.

http://orokos.com/roll/176772  4 hits on Judge Intentions is it a friendly compliment or something else from the elves. Do I think I can safely leave my bike parked there?

Blurr pulls out a fresh smoke, While calling up the fly drone that's in his backpack. Alright little guy I need some eyes, Run quite and get some altitude and send me a feed on whatever you see. And keep an eye on those bikers on the corner. Unzipping his bag he reaches in for his survival knife using the micro lighter for the cigarette, which also lets the MCT Fly-spy drone out, barely larger then a dragonfly it was pretty hard to spot unless you're looking. Yes Sir, Is the feed coming through alright?
Enjoying the relaxing effect of the first few drags of the smoke while adjusting to the Drone sight crowding in on his cybereyes, Blurr takes a moment to collect himself. Yeah little guy, coming clear. Don't get shot alright? He knew the drone was little more then an expensive toy with a Dog-Brain but he was fond of the bug.

@Blurr -- The elf who complimented your bike gives you a small smile underneath the white faced makeup.  They don't seem like bad kids, just people who want to be out to enjoy music, fun, and minimal adventure.  You feel safe leaving your motorcycle there.

The MCT Flydrone flies overhead at a higher altitude then a normal insect of that size would.  The bike rider that you see with the Ingram Smartgun strapped to the bike takes a moment to look up in the sky.

Perception 3 + Intuition 4 + Teammates +2 = 9 - 2 for minidrone - 3 for not being aware = 4 dice for a perception test to see the drone.

2,4,5,3 = 1 Hit on the perception test.

Please roll Pilot + Stealth [Handling threshold of 1] for the drone to avoid being spotted by the bike rider. Pg 270 of the 5th edition core rule book.

@Red Queen - In the world of Augmented Reality, the street becomes enhanced as you see the advertisements of the street corner just bombard you initially.  "COFFEE with a Kick" + "STOFFER's STUFFER SHACK for a Quick SNACK!"

Across the street you see the icon of the Daisy Chain, the decayed large oak tree with dark withered leaves.  The icons of the two bouncers can be seen as well.  They are represented as two dark elves dressed in black chain mail perched on large branches.  In their hands are an assortment of Long Bows.

-The three bikers are represented by Japanese Kanji symbols, translated into words as 'Courage'  + 'Strength'  + 'Honor', one phrase representing each of the riders.

-The three teenage elves that complimented Blurr's bike are represented as three kittens, all of different breeds.

--You notice four figures over by the SW corner of the intersection.  Near the large brick-wall and metal gate.  There is a large empty dead AR space around the half block that the brick wall covers.

@Clara/Aki -- The nano-tattooed elf shows a flash of anger when Aki suggests that she would be staying on this block until the meet began.  Grabbing the female elf by her wrist, he pushes her aside which seems to awaken her from a small trance.  The pink mini-skirt elf gathers herself before taking two large steps away from Clara and the male elf.

"You're wrong, very wrong," the elf began before chanting a few words in a harsh whisper.  A silver chain with a ornate green color ram's head at the end of it begins to glow as he touches it.

He brings his fists up in a boxing stance, a bit quicker then the movements in his body that were seen earlier.

"I would derive great pleasure in harming a young unarmed HUMAN female, especially one who does not obey an initial command from one who is superior in status.  You do not belong in Tarislar.  You are not worthy to speak to me unless you bend the knee."

The elf's knight chess piece nano-tattoo begins to glow a bright neon brown color, an interesting blend against his bronze colored skin.

"I shall give you one last opportunity to either fall to the ground and apologize for your disobedience or leave Tarislar, bowing to every elf you see on your way back to the barrens."

Barely after stepping out of the taxi, Dr. Greyhaven is accosted by the inimitable Red Queen. Before he can formulate a cogent, and suitably biting, response, she's turned on her heels and sauntered off. She's rather oblivious to the impression that she makes. Old enough to look before leaping, he sighs and his gaze traces the path that she's headed on towards the waiting elves. He quickly spots the incipient fracas that she's heading into. Sighing again, but unsurprised, given the typical interplay between city-bred humans and elves, he alters his perceptions into the astral realm and scans the area.

The Queen was quite aware of her impression she gives to others. It wasn't in her nature to ask politely when others she was attempting to assist gave her lip. She knew quite well she jabbed a sore spot with Laughing Bear, and also knew full well, such a jab would spur him into action. She had taken some courses on psychology after all. Now weather or not it was the best way, she wasn't too concerned with at the moment. If she was going to take on the White Queen and her derk, she would need to amass funds for her army.

Floating behind her was the cat, snickering a little, the playful feline ready for action. And its seems action was already starting to come.

Wilder watched passively from behind the inscrutable mirrored mask of his helmet as the tough-looking little asian chick approached the sneering elf on the corner. It seemed to Wilder that the lady had been perfectly polite. Wilder also suspected that she was one of his new teammates, since she seemed to be expecting a Johnson and not some wannabe sidewalk tyrant.

He would have been perfectly happy to sit there and watch the ensuing fist fight, but then the irritating elf had to open his mouth and spout that racist drek. With an almost-irritated sigh, Wilder dismounted from his bike.

Initiatve of 21: http://orokos.com/roll/176893

"Hoi, chummer," Wilder snarled in a voice that did not even hint at chumminess. "The breeder chick has already bowed enough to a limp-wristed, dandelion-eating, pasty, anemic, daisy-sniffing fairy boy like you. This here is a spirits-damned public sidewalk, and I don't like your tone, you smug little knife-eared Nazi prick."

As he spewed his stream of epithets, Wilder stretched his arms out, the matte silver machinery of his right limb emitting an ominous whirr. And then, just to piss the little racist skidmark off a bit more, Wilder snapped up the visor of his helmet to reveal a pair of bright green cybereyes and a brash, tusky grin. Knowing too well that the authorities did not look kindly on those that threw the first punch, however, he decided to instead egg the little poser on. "You want to police your little corner? Wanna make us leave? Fraggin' bring it, knife-ear."

Clara ears someone shouting and insulting the elf in front of her, still the stubborn prick does not back down no matter, make it fast, make it quick springing into action Carla takes a few quick steps, fastly gaining momentum in the direction of her quarry her body lurches forward,

kaze...KA!  (風...火 )Clara's head drives itself into the elf's chest, her body providing the leverage to hit him hard, shifting his weight he tries to stop and deflect the head-butt from squarely hitting him fully in the chest, the smug look quickly disappears as the blow flies through his defences. not his hands, not his body nor his armored jacket are going to stop the blunt force of the vicious raged filled attack, maybe she was lucky, maybe he was not fast enough, a stunned look replaces the smug one as pain jerks his entire body.

The elf surprised look remained on his face while his feet lifted a few centimetres from the floor, as he flew towards the brick wall surprise turns into rage, just long enough for the dull sound, of his back hitting the wall behind him, to reach the ears of the onlookers, he stares dazed at Clara's flushed face, only a few seconds had lapsed between the shout contest and the head contact to his chest but he was already slumping in the floor driven by the sheer force of the blow.

Wilder chuckled a bit as the other runner catapulted the elf into the wall. A smart man wouldn't get up after a hit like that, but after the loud-mouthed little prick had so thoroughly demonstrated his own stupidity, Wilder decided he didn't want to give him a chance. He sauntered over to the collapsed elf and reached down with his cyberarm. His shock gloves glowed blue briefly, and the elf made some pained noises as Wilder clasped him on the shoulder. It almost looked like a consolatory gesture, except for the thousands of volts coursing through him.

Pulling away a faintly sizzling hand, Wilder fleshed the human a triumphant smirk before snapping the visor of his helmet shut once again.

As Elizabeth couldn't see the flow of mana and magic the way her friend could, she had hardly any idea what Laughing bear had done, her concern was stopping any attempts to call for help from the police from the elf, as it could make things more.. difficult. A paper airplane AO flies by on an unfelt breeze, as they sometimes do.

<<Whoa.  Listen, a friend of mine told me to interact with this slag.  I really don't like him or know him...  He is not a friend of mine.>>

---The dark haired female elf in the long mini-skirt replied via the matrix.  She then makes it a point to run down the block as Bear's spell goes off in her head.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The elf with the nano-tattoo of a chess piece on his face lays slumped against the brick wall. Upon seeing the downed racist elf, the pair of dark chrome visor wearing bouncers from the Daisy Chain begin to pay closer attention to Aki and Wilder.

Just then the wrought iron gate opens very slowly, with a rusted creaking sound to it.  Checking your commlinks or retinal time pieces, all of you realize that the gate opens up at the exact time all of you were supposed to be gathered at the corner for the meet.

Outsteps another elf, this one easily standing over 6'6.  This one is pale skinned, with pink and yellow hair that shot straight up into a tall buzz cut.  His pointed ears were especially prominent against the shaved sides of his head.  The elf was wearing a urban camo colored armored jacket, and matching Kevlar pants.  Dangling from his side was a ares predator V.  The elf turns to look at Aki and Wilder, showing off an obvious cyber eye which switched from a blue color iris to a green color as the eye examines both of you.

There is also the sound of a light growl coming from behind the elf, behind the gate, and within the park.  Behind the gate, all you can see is a blackness that is interrupted by a pair of red eyes, gleaming followed by another set and then another set.

The appearance of the elf with the obvious cyber eye seems to call off the pair of bouncers from the Daisy Chain.  The cyber-eyed elf looks down at the racist elf and then speaks in a deep cybernetic mono-tone voice.

"Was this your handiwork?" he asks Wilder and Aki.

Wilder grinned beneath the visor of his helmet at Aki's "medium rare" quip. He knew he'd come to her assistance for a reason. In response to the 'wared-up elf's question, Wilder bobbed his head. "I'm afraid it is. Us three had a bit of a disagreement on the proper way to treat a lady." Wilder left it at that for now, and instead tried to peek over the imposing elf's shoulder and get a bead on the eyes coming from the darkness of the park. The bright green irises of Wilder's cybereyes flicked slightly as he flicked through the low-light and thermographic filters.

The elf with the nano-tattoo has his wounds stabilized by Laughing Bear.  He begins to pick himself off the ground.  With one arm hanging limply after the electrocution wound from Wilder, the elf spouts at Aki.  The tattoo is of a chess piece that encircles the left side of his face.  It begins to glow a dark blue.

"Stupid slitch, what's your name?"

The elf with the obvious cyber eyed does not respond to Aki's questions as of yet, he merely takes in the presences of the other four individuals.

Earing the others introduce themselves Clara made a polity bow, one used when unsure of the others social standing, some things are truly ingrained during childhood, nature versus nurture has more often than not intrigued Clara, while she hated some of the company political struggles, its social norms had been ingrained into her, not until they became second nature because they where truly part of her nature even if it was a pavlovian response.

You can call me Akagitsune, hajimimashite said Clara before stepping through the gate.

Wilder strode into the park with apparent confidence. "Nice poochies," Wilder said dryly to the hell hounds as they backed away. Trained hell hounds proved the Johnson had some serious clout... and as near as he could tell, a show of force was sort of traditional at these things. Keeping his low-light filters on, Wilder also booted up his simrig, recording the proceedings with his cybereyes. He hadn't been a runner for long, but this was a trick he learned early; recording the initial meet was always useful when the team was planning what to do immediately afterwards.

Once inside the park, Wilder looked to the 'wared up elf for further direction.

Laughing Bear shrugs at Red and follows Wilder wordlessly into the 'park', keeping his senses alert. He tries to ignore the hellhounds, but has a hard time maintaining nonchalance. The last time he faced such critters was not ... pleasant.

The elf with the chromed eyes turns his head back to view if all five of the Aki, Blurr, Wilder, Red, and Bear were following.  He continued forward as each of them entered through the gate.

Surrounding them was densely vegetated park, or more like a forest with one light brown dirt road which deeper into the area.  Surrounding them were giant plush green oak trees and bushes in the shapes of square hedges, one that you would find near a giant mansion in the countryside.

The walk lasted for five minutes.  For each minute the characters traveled down the path and following the chromed elf, they saw another pair of red eyes viewing them from the bushes.  They also the felt the presence of the three hell-hounds at the gate following them.  Each minute, each of the red eyes they would view would join the hell-hound trio from the gate, until eight in total were following them from a distance.  Two and a half minutes into the walk, they came across a brightly light Victorian England type lamp post that illuminated the area like a firefly amongst a cornfield.  The lamppost greatly resembled that off the one from the old CS Lewis stories in Narnia.

The lamppost split the path into four direction, bit the chromed elf kept going forward.  Eventually them came across what appeared to be a two story old brick built church.  The walls of the old church were covered in moss and ivory.

In front of the church, sitting in a giant moss and ivy covered throne was an elf with closely cropped brown hair, black Armani suit, and a golden earing dangling from one of his ears.  On top of one of the arm rests was a Fairlight Excaliber Cyberdeck.  Also next to the elf sitting on the throne was a holographic projector which had a image of four individuals playing in a band.  He shut-off the images as the runners approached.

Flanking the elf in the throne were two other elves dressed in black trenchcoats.  They had chromed eyes just like the elf who met them at the gate.  They were armed with assault rifles and merely look at all of you as you approach.  It was the elf sitting in the throne who spoke.

"Thank you for attending this meeting.  My name is Mr. Johnson.  I would like to hire the five of you to eliminate a specific target in the Seattle Metroplex area.  The payment for this task is 75,000 nuyen, all to be dispersed on a single platinum cred-stick.  Further details will be provided if you choose to select this task.  All I will tell you at the moment is that you are not being hired to kill a dragon."

You can feel the presence of the 8 hell hounds growling from behind you, and the glare of the three elven street samurai who protected the Johnson.  It is at this time that you notice that the elven street samurai are almost identical representations of each other.

Looking at the same looking and to Mr. Johnson, Clara is unable to stop thinking that something might be off in this situation.

To kill someone... is this what it takes? to take any well paid jobs to gather enough resources?!?

Konichiwa Johnson-sama bowing in a respectful manner Clara continues assuming its not a dragon nor any children or innocent, how much are you offering Johnson-sama?

"Seventy-five thousand on a certified platinum credstick."  Although stoic and placid, Aki gets the feeling that he is being sincere with his offer and description of the mission, that there is an altruism factor to the mission.

Clara was never a coldblooded killer, truth be told she was far from being one, but she was not squeamish about it. In fact, the first time it happened to her it had been a mistake, a wanna be mugger too far into a kamikaze trip, there are situations where the expression 'shikata ga nai' fits like a glove.

I am in Johnson-Osama, but I cannot speak for the others she said in a non nonchalant manner while nodding to the other runners.

Elizibeth glaces at the street pole. How quaint she thought to herself, as she recognizes it rather quickly with her knowledge of literature. So, not a dragon. But like a dragon no doubt. she replies to the elf. Otherwise the distinction of not killing a dragon would have never needed to be, or you really are sending us to kill a dragon. Considering the land we are in, are you perhaps sendings us off to kill a lion? she watches around her as careful as she could, more at home in the matrix than here in the streets.

While walking up Blurr extended his staff and used it as a walking stick. Upon arrival he quirks an eyebrow and check the area while the others talk.

Laughing Bear, from where he's standing, says in Sperethiel, "Greetings, honoured ones." Switching to English so the runners will understand, he continues, "Just to be absolutely clear, are you offering to pay each of us seventy-five thousand, or seventy-five thousand in total to be split amongst the survivors of this ... endeavor?"

He then turns to Elizabeth and gives her a hard look, "I'm a doctor. I save people. Even in the Wildcats I didn't do wet-work."

Turning back to the elves, and switching back to Sperethiel, he asks, "Respectfully, I am not going to agree to this undertaking without first knowing who the target is and why they must die. You must know who I am, so you know that I speak truly when I give you my word that regardless of my decision I will not betray your trust."

As Wilder followed the chromed elf, he turned around briefly to keep an accurate count of the hell hounds. As the other (apparent) runners joined, he forwarded his commcode to them as well so they could communicate. He didn't know or trust these people at all, but he wanted a semi-secure line of communication in case one of the beasties proved hungry. <<I'm counting eight hell hounds, chummers. Either our Mr. Johnson has serious clout, or he's over-compensating severely.>> Wilder kept his mouth shut otherwise, however, keeping an eye on the team's six behind his inscrutable black motorcycle helmet.

When they arrived at the building, Wilder was surprised to see even more muscle and what appeared to be their Mr. Johnson on a literal fragging throne. <<Yup. Over-compensating. Fraggin' nailed it.>>

After the elf made his offer, Wilder pinged another message to the team. <<Wetwork is an unsavory proposition, but I'm game if you chummers are.>> With that, Wilder snapped up the visor of his helmt to speak out loud for the first time since the group's tiff with the racist elf. "I'm interested, Mr. Johnson, but it's a big thing you're asking of us. What other details about the job can you provide? Only a sucker agrees to something without knowing what he's agreeing to."

The other runners can't help but get the feeling Wilder was speaking from experience on that matter...

"That would be 75,000 nuyen to split amongst you. Trust goes both ways Laughing Bear. I specifically sought individuals who have a reputation to be altruistic in nature. If the target was one with high moral ethics then I would be insulting your collective integrity.  I cannot tell you who the target is specifically, but I will tell you that they are what you call a 'vampire' and that they are a leader of a small gang that was once prominent in the mid 50's.  The target has an unsavory reputation, one who would not hesitate to implore Machiavellian type tactics to get what they want."

@Blurr - you notice that the Johnson has a datajack in his left temple, an old style jack but of fine Deltaware make.  Something of a relic when cyber decks were still massive keyboards

Also in the Fairlight Excaliber screen you notice the pictures of the same band that was in the holographic image that he was watching.

"See, Bear, its not nearly as bad as you think. I typically don't do this work, however if its a vampire, behead him, stake through the heart, burn the body, stuff the mouth full of holy waffers and spread the ashes at the crossroads." she remarks, pulling up information from bramstroker's dracula. Whether or not that was any use at all for a real vampire though, well, beheadings tend to work for almost anyone. She turns to the johnson. "Just how many of us is it being spit by?"

Blurr smiles just slightly. I'm with the Doc, I won't kill people for money. But a Vamp's not a person anymore.

"Well, a vampire is definitely not a dragon. I'll grant you that." Wilder pinged another message to the team. <<I'm on board. Are we going to try and negotiate? If so, I vote not me for that drek.>>

Receiving Wilder's message on her AR display Clara thinks a few seconds about it before responding

I'll pass on the negotiation... does not seem appropriate she replies using the speech to text ability and her sub-vocal microphone.

"I don't have a problem with putting down a rabid dog, and if the target is as you claim then they very likely warrant being terminated." Assuming that you speak the truth, which is always a question when the source is an elf without a spirit guide. The only ones who do Machiavellian better than elves are dragons, so it's amusingly ironic for you to be casting that qualifier on his target. Pity that if I were foolish enough to try to see if you're telling the truth I'd likely get eaten by those pets of yours. He wills himself to avoid glancing at the slavering killers all around him as he takes in the mood of his erstwhile companions-to-be.

Red Queen begins searching for more information off the net, while they talk, doing a really quick cursory search on what she can find about Vampires. Having access to a massive database with nothing more than your mind does have some advantages after all.

Though of Course she recalls information from various books, Bram Stroker's Dracula being the first. Then Anne Rice's Interview with a  Vampire, and that dreadful collection of books. Counting five people here, splitting 75,000 assumingly between them all, she calculates that it would be 15,000 each. Not a bad some, but vampires. Trids and the like always gave them supernatural powers, to shapeshift into bats and mist, to charm and dominate.

Though there was that Japanese speaking human, as long as she was around Red was safe from various sorts of harm, provided Red wasn't nearby at the time the human was attacked. Still, best not to let her go down. After all in horror books, the killer always goes after the targets one by one.

Currently, it was unknown how many other creatures the vampire would have with them, be they werewolves, mummies or zombies. Mummies would have a dreadful curse, and werewolves the ability to recover from even dynamite wounds to the face.  Zombies though, depending on which kind, wouldn't be too bad. Anything else, would require specialized weaponry.

"Taking on a vampire at night is a mission for morons and fools. Bear and I are neither such things. If you wish us to bring on this vampire, we will need specialized gear and equipment. Stakes, holy water, silver bullets, holy wafers, rope, seeds, a dentist, talisman, UV lights, dog whistle, and lastly explosives. We'll need some additional payment, upfront, to cover these expenses. "
