I think some of your message came through distorted. If I understand it correctly, you want your character to wear a custom-built mask with various enhancements in it? If your GM says okay then okay. Depending on the specifics, I probably wouldn't have a problem with it in my games.

Out of the box, a helmet does come with capacity, which can let you add custom mods like armor and vision enhancements. Using that same sack of crunch for a mask instead seems entirely reasonable.

When on a 'run, my SR3 character used:
A Victory "Rapid Transit" Helmet with the following built-in items networked:- Induction Datajack Adaptor
- Earplug Cell Phone
- Wuxing "Headsup" Display and Pocket Secretary (Visor HUD, 150 Mp, voice-activated, Local Maps (75 Mp), exterior access plug)
- Nav-Dat Global Positioning System (Visor HUD)
- Voice Mask (Lv 1) (On/Off)
- Shotgun Microphone (Lv 3, In-line, On/Off)
If I could have fit knowsofts into the damn PocSec, I would have. These days, of course, the phone and the PocSec gets folded into a commlink, and then you CAN put knowsofts into the copious 'online memory'.
Remember, kiddies - having a knowsoft is better than having a mapsoft is better than having a datafile of the map. Ain't nothin' more glorious than using the opposition's own building against them, and knowing it better than they do. If only they weren't so expensive ...

Tricked out masks and helmets are awesome--my main PC in the Missions campaign has one (two, actually)--but keep in mind you can't walk around everywhere with a security helmet on your head. Don't put anything essential like your Image Link in there.

i figured that it would have -2 from its armor maybe -4 using the helmets armor score with the reduction I
mostly using it for hiding (deadshot) idenitity i figured it would be betfer to gjve more shadowrun than for a simple aesthetic effect
-
A mask would just be a helmet, really, so a generic +2 value. It'd be silly to make an aesthetic thing that outbeats the stuff the troops use.
-
This gives me an idea. Most runners go helmet-less, making it very difficult to protect your head. You can't go wandering around with a combat helmet on...
...But you could market a ballistic hockey mask. Heh.
-
I have a TM who wears an autographed Seattle Screamers Urban Brawl helmet.

@HarshRhettoric: At 2.27 in the video is your ballistic hockey mask

Its from the movie "Nid de Guepes" (The Nest in english, Das tödliche Wespennest in german, its from 2002 I think) and actually saves that characters life in one scene.
The film is quite allright too, esp. for the Shadowrun crowd.

Well.. now there really is a mask item too.
