Title: [SR5] Shock Frill Damage - Errata or Consensus?
Post by: ve4grm on <04-22-14/1703:16>
Has there been errata or a consensus on how the damage/accuracy/etc of Shock Frills yet?

I'd assume the same damage as Shock Weave, so 8S(e). Not sure if it'd have AP.

I'd basically just say its a shock glove. For your cloths.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, the strange part is, shock frills are 1/2 the cost of shock gloves (which can't be used defensively), and 1/4 the cost of shock weave (which can't be used offensively).

I think I'll just grab some shock gloves, and maybe flavour them to be part of the edge of my coat. Or not. Whatever.

Well..

Shock Gloves 6R, 550, 10 charges, 8S(e) -5AP
Shock Frills, 6R, 2 cap, 10 charges, 250, 8S(e) -5AP
Shock Weave,8, 3 cap, inivite Charges, 8S(e) -5 AP, Block etc.

For the Shockweave, the major advantages of it is that it doesn't have a limit to the number of charges you have. Its also allowable for anyone to have (No need for licenses)

Shock Gloves don't use Capacity in an armor.

Shock frills do use a capacity

Now, why do I put a -5 AP on all of them? Cause pretty much everything else that deals Electrical damage has a -5 AP.

Good rundown.  Also I do agree that they should all be 8S(e) with -5 AP.  An electrical attack with no armor penetration would be very odd, since elemental attacks in general are supposed to make it so untreated armor is much less effective.

I could think of a BS explanation for how Shock Weave has infinite charges.  Obviously it charges through friction and stuff while you're moving.

I'm guessing that touching a metal doorknob with your bare hand would affect the charging...  :o

Good points, Triskavanski. I'll go with that, then.
