Title: Forensic Kit
Post by: OneofSorrow on <04-28-14/1425:40>
Going to the forum for another question involving the gear that my PC's seem to like.  Ever since the Sprawl Wild game the team Adept has shown a marked interest in forensic and has carried around that little rating 3 forensic kit to help actually crack some pretty heavy investigations.  But there comes a time in every runners life they want newer and better gear and after looking through a few books the closed I have come to the 4th edition Forensic Kit that gives +2 to roll not any rating or smart systems.  So I was wondering if anyone might have any idea how one gets ahold of forensic kit with a higher rating or better.  One of the team members has it in their mind to add it to their chameleon suit in a effort to be more like batman.   :P

Are you playing SR4 or SR5? Because the SR4 Kit made perfect sense in SR4, but not necessarily in the new SR5 gaming system.

Where I get this little device, just for more information is from Sprawl Wilds, Page 11.  Hua will produce a Forensic Kit(Rating 3) that includes an expert system cable of direction the runners to collect evidence.  Sprawl Wilds is usable in both SR4 and SR5 so is it possible in shadow run 5 to get a Forensic Kit with a rating higher than 3? :)

The only thing in Shadowrun 5 that's a kit with a rating is the medkit, otherwise it's just a "kit" that allows you to use a skill without taking certain penalties.  I suspect the forensics kit in Sprawl Wilds is a little bit of handwaving to make the run 4/5 compatible, but I wouldn't have a problem using the same pricing/availability as medkits for one.

I'm kinda hoping that future supplements expand a lot on kits...

I would also the same sizing rules as a medkit for SR5.
