First off, I don't think the Technomancer is really suppose to be at all a hacker like deckers are. looking at stuff they've got and the like, I really don't feel thats their role at all. Rather, they are the guy who sits back, in VR, assisting his team mates.
But Triskavanski! how can you assist your team if you ain't hacking?
Simple! Provide Overwatch! Leadership!
As a Technomancer, unless you really try, you're going to have issues in the meatworld right? But you've got a massive amount of power in the Matrix.
Particularly, you can get where you're rolling 5d6 on your initiative constantly. You can still take non-matrix actions through the matrix. The one I'm mostly looking at is Leadership.
So what I'm looking at trying to do is keep my firewall as high as I can. I want to submerse as much as I can, to get Overclock, Noise Scrubber and at least one level of control rig.
The idea is to get as many passes as I can get, so I can be making several leadership tests, amongst other things. To get eyes and ears outside into the meatworld, I'll get the rest of the team cameras and microphones.
anyone got otherways I can focus into this?

Yes, the idea is really good. But what i would advice to you is drones.
Gunnery is quite universal weapon skill, so it can combine with any weapons. So how about a SmartPlatform, or rotodrone, or duelist, with a weapon of choice. A sniper rifle, shotgun, smg, assault rifle. But, it will hurt a lot if it will get hit, and you are inside. You can not slave it to your persona as mancers can not have a PAN. So you should not let drone get hit. How about a sniping position, so it can give nice fire support to the team. [You will get some bonus for HotSim, etc.].
High fire wall means high WIL, means high fading pool, so your next best choice is to use complex forms a lot. But here the mancer problem arises. All mental attributes are good for you. If you want to brick weapons or other electronic equipment you'll need high CHA, for attack limit. Or you could use pupeter, or resonance veil, if you have big imagination and a nice MG.
Just remember, all things in 2072 is online. Deck, Gun, Pants... But the gun, even if not smartlinked, have wireless capabilities, so:
Use resonance veil to 'make the gun think' that it is the time for regular maintenance. You don't need any marks for resonance actions anyway.
-
Technomancer causes your clothes to fall off.
-
Drones would come later. As for a PAN, you cannot use your living persona as one. You can use a commlink however.
As for bricking stuff.. Resonance Spike is better, as it allows you to do brick stuff without GOD detection. Though that ight be a good use of the resonance veil.

I suspect it will be easier for technomancers in one aspect because they can use sprites to provide themselves with extra Matrix muscle. You're going to want a courier sprite for communications and probably at least one fault sprite and/or machine sprite for countering attacks by other hackers.
It would be easier if you could get your team to go with wired equipment that has its Matrix access turned off as much as they possibly can, so that you can limit points of attack on your team. Keep a courier sprite registered to act as a communications relay as needed. Then, when you do get attacked, use a fault sprite to keep the other hacker engaged in combat while a machine sprite attacks their equipment. You can also use this against IC, by having a crack sprite delay the release of IC as much as possible and then a fault sprite to engage it, possibly with the crack sprite or a data sprite hunting down the origin file to take it out. If you have enough registered sprites, you could even engage in small-scale guerilla warfare, using the crack sprites to delay IC while fault sprites engage spiders and machine sprites brick enemy equipment and play merry havoc with their communications. Then just have the courier sprites keep updating your team on where they need to go and how to dodge the security forces that you currently have distracted.

Going with a high leadership dice pool, youd naturally want nice charisma. And a high charisma would allow you to register a lot of sprites, you could have machine sprites running diagnostics on your party members gear then. And still have some sprites working as muscle etc as Slowdeck said.
So while your mancer is buffing their skills with teamwork/leadership, your sprites are buffiing their equipment with teamwork tests. (just make sure you all agree on what can be affected by diagnostics)
WHile resonance spike is stealthier a CHA 8 mancer can brick enemy smartguns with just a single net hit, in 1 go.
-
Could -potentially- brick a gun. The gun would have at least a pool of 4 dice to resist the damage. If slaved to a commlink, there would be even more there.
Its not that it isn't a bad idea, its good. But with OS on me, its a little harder to do.
Also Reasonance Spike isn't effected by a lot of things, like going across grids, or being on the public grid. (as its not a matrix action.)
EDIT:
What about the actual overwatch portion of this Technomancer? Like tricks and stuff I could do to gather more intel or the like. I'm not looking to be heavy on the hacker side of things, as I prefer to leave that to the decker.
-
You probably will need to focus a bit more on the hacking side than you'd like to perform Overwatch. Especially since the best way to gain intel is to hack enemy communications or cameras. You can use a courier sprite to keep track of the actions of any enemy deckers, but for the rest you will probably have to rely quite heavily on hacking into systems even just for keeping track of where enemies are.
You really should not be alone in performing overwatch, as there are some things you can't watch for.
-
Well, yes, right now I can't watch for astral stuff. So, I'd be relying on a mage to provide field watch for astral.
I suppose I could use a decker to get me the feeds from the enemy.
Why a curiour sprite?
-
Their Cookie power. It allows you to tag a persona and record everything they do on the Matrix. Also potentially useful to use on commlinks.
-
Cookie though is more passive though. I wouldn't know what they were doing until the time is up and it comes back.
-
True. But it does allow you to get regular updates on the actions of those who are not an immediate threat, but might become one during the run. If you get an update they are moving to intercept your team, you can use that to let your team know what is going on before they get ambushed. Like, say, that HRT team that gets quietly alerted to your presence... suddenly, you have warning, and very likely you have a copy of their plan of action.
-
The problem is what time to set it for. Too far apart and you're not going to get that info fast enough. Too close, and you'll be out of sprite

Is what I have so far.
Yes, I know my physical stats are pathetic. I really do not intend though to be too deep into the action though.
