Morning Ladies, Gents and other Miscreants
Just wondering what people think of this build, its a Mystic Adept who is into sneaking and entering, i know i havent listed any gear besides a couple of things, i was hoping people could make some suggestions. I also know he seems a little underpowered, but in the group i'm planning to play this guy in RP is seen as more important than being super skilled. Any and all criticis welcome.
(Please note it is a 750 karma build. Athletics, Conjuring and Stealth Skills are bought as a group, the character has initiated twice and bought Masking and an addiotional power point.)
TIA Hellion

Looks similar to my Face/B&E-Adept with Cerebral boosters and Mind over Matter :)
Snip .... forget it, the power focus was included in the calculations ...
I think you fare much better with reducing MAG by 1 and initiate once more for one more PP, so spending 19 karma instead of 40.
Maybe try to start with a magic group. With 3 initiations you'll get the 5 karma back.
Why Corrode vs Maglocks? Your hardware looks good, take a specialisation and kick the spell.
Why Killing Hands? You have Stun Bolt and Power Bolt. These will hit better against spirits.
And when you cut off 1 level of Mystic Armor, you have one more Magic to cast with. Although having the adept side fueled only by metamagic might get you some weird looks.
Lightning Bolt might be better than Flamethrower.

First off thanks for taking a look at this, seeing as most people are more interested in 5th edition stuff.
With regards to the starting with a magic group, i'll have to talk to my GM, but if thats allowed i will do that. The Corrode vs Maglocks is there in case he ever completely stuffs up and needs to burn out a lock (regardless of if its to get out or in). I was under the impression that killing hands still worked even if your character was in a magic dead zone, something to keep him lethal, and the mystic armour is there to protect himin the same instance or if he is caught withou any armour. The reason i picked Flamethrower was because it is an area spell and has been suggested to me to be a good spell versus drones, i thought lighting bolt was only a single target spell, can i ask why u suggest it ????

- I'd suggest to take Shatter then, instead of Corrode, because it will be universally more useful. There are more things that could need a firm hand than mag-locks :)
- I'm not quite sure what you mean with Dead Magic, but if it is related to background count, than you have to remember, that you lose MAG for every point of background count that is not aspected for your tradition. Since your initiate grade can't be higher than your MAG, you could virtually lose anything. I don't know, if that would be worth it. Then you should rather opt for Centering/Filtering techniques and be able to skip Killing Hands again.
- Mystic Armor is a chance to reduce damage. I like the chance to not get hit more :)
- Flamethrower is also single-target, the area version is Fireball.

I just checked the description for shatter, and i like it a hell of a lot better than corrode ;D
Sorry thats exactly what i meant, but after reading thru the rules, i think your right might have to totally redo the whole magic levels and i think i will drop both mystic armor and killing hands and see what else i can do to increase the "not getting hit" factor.
Consider Fireball picked up and Flamethrower dropped with extreme prejudice.
Thank you for your time and suggestions.

Yeah, seems there's more to do here, then opposing the veterans and getting the flaws of my arguments exposed (mostly due to me making mistakes ...) ;D
