I'm making a Samoan character and running into the problem of Nobody Gives A Slot About Hawai'i. There's a Six World Almanac entry and that's about it. So the only interesting stuff happening in Hawai'i is them taking in Yomi Island refugees and some isolationist army elements not being down with that. Also, assassination attempts on the king and an island of shamans.
Did anyone do anything interesting with Hawai'i in their games? There are a lot of tourists and it's a short flight away from all sorts of intrigue-heavy places. There's some corporate presence too. Something's got to be happening there...
Is there a book I'm missing where there's more?

Its a bit dated, but you can read 'The House of the Sun' by Nigel Findley, a SR novel taking place in the Kingdom of Hawaii.

Hmmm, thanks for the tip. I'll see if I can find it anywhere. It's okay if it's dated, I only need things for background stuff, but is it... you know, good? I mean as a book >_> I had bad experiences with game fiction...

Nigel Findley was an awesome writer and you really can not go wrong with any of his SR novels.
And for background it's great because it goes over how the Hawaiian islands declared themselves an independent kingdom and made it stick.
It's a good read while still giving a feel for the game universe.

Also, there's an adventure based there - damned if I can remember what it was called, though. Never managed to play it or even pick it up ...

Oh yeah, forgot about the adventure and it does provide more source info you may want.
It is an SR adventure called Paradise Lost, set in 2055 Hawaii and you can still get it thru places like rpgdrivethru:
