Welcome chummers to the great outback, where most of what you find that moves will try to kill ya. Don't trust me? You'll be dead within the week. I'm here to congratulate you, the bottom of the barrel of society, on making your way up. Even though it doesn't really matter, as you guys will be on the fringe of society, but to each his own. Anyways, congrats on passing the tests you dregs, we're going to split ya'll into groups and get you situated with your rig and send ya to your new home.

To those that have made it, welcome. Keep your weapon clear of sand, never drink the water not processed and always keep both radios on. You follow these basic rules, you'll make it a month in the bushlands.

I'm just joking with you guys(kind of), its not all bad. Trust me. Would a dragon playing God ever lie? Please submit character sheets for verification and so that others can give pointers. And to Ryo, if you wish to be Loa, I will allow it. Just know my hammer is coming down to fix some issues I have.

== Description ==
JD is a roughneck and proud of it. You won't be catching him in no damn business suit. He has skin covered in work callouses and scrubbed with lava soap. And it still seems to be stained with motoroil and grease. He's not one to put up with crap from anyone. He's been doing the job longer than most of the uppity kids he's been working with has been walking the planet.

== Background ==
Jack Daniels Vester, yeah his dad was a but of a drinker and a smartass to boot, was born in a small town not far from the borders of UCAS, CAS, the PCC and Sioux Nation in what was once the panhandle of Oklahoma. He grew up on the edge of a major cattle feedlot. The feedlot was where his dad worked.

JD was not much of an animal person but he was always fascinated with the big rig trucks and large farming machinery that was used troughout the area. He seemed to have a knack for tearing things apart to figure out how they worked. It wasn't long until he was putting things back together again.

JD could have went to college, became an engineer and went on to some sort of management position. But JD was to much of a free spirit and school just never seemed to be his thing. Yeah he may understand the material, but the tedious schoolwork that seemed to be nothing more than really memorizing the next test wasn't for him.

His first job as a teen was wrenching on the trucks and equipment at a local mechanic's shop. He learned more in the shop than he ever would in school. After high school he moved on to a long string of blue collar jobs. He welded on any number of projects and builings throughout what was once the US and Canada. He worked the oilfield booms thoroughout North America for a while. For one season he was a engine mechanic on a crab boat in some of the coldest fraggin water known to man in the Bering Sea. Yeah that one sucked. Big time.

He spent one summer wiring infastructure for a communications network. That winter he was plowing roads for some small town municipality. 10 years ago though he had enough with traveling around North America. All of the mom & pop businesses were being pushed out by corporations and JD never was a company man. The last job he had in the states made up his mind.

That job was a game changer for him. The boss was a corp stooge that was willing to sacrifice safety to the gods of ambition so that the company reports would show a massive influx if productivity. What that meant was that the crew and equipment were put to use in corner cutting operations that were a danger to the crew and whoever would be affected when the structure collapsed. After the umpteenth minor accident and before the first major one happened JD finally had enough and knocked the teeth out of his supervisor.

He then grabbed everything he owned in his duffel and headed out on the first container ship he could find heading to his new destination. A buddy of his was an Aussie. The man spent every waking moment telling stories of his time Down Under. He convinced JD that the outback was one of the few places that had true wilderness anymore and JD was determined to enjoy some time in the boondocks.

He thought to himself what the hell. He was already 30 years old and it wasn't like he'd made enough to save up some retirement nestegg. He wasn't one to set on his ass everyday anyway.

JD's been working jobs around the Outback for a decade now and as even managed to gain Australian citizenship. SOome may still consider him a Septic, But he is enjoying his so called retirement.

He loathes the cities and prefers a lifestyle in the backcountry. He likes the life he leads and it will most likely take him the his grave.

Steven's friend Erica brought him to a big party when they first started hanging out. The event had been organized by a slim white kid who called himself "Dj Flex". He's a very popular DJ who's surrounded by a lot of fake people right now due to his rising fame. Thus, he really appreciates Steven's honesty. The two have kept in contact since the event.

Middle aged dwarf with a monocle who walks with a cane and speaks sharply at everyone, even when trying to be affectionate.

He goes by the nickname "Donger", a moniker he picked up in his fraternity. That's right. The sweet, kind, sensitive little boy named Steven Browere whose mother loved him very much and gave him everything her mid level corp job could afford, had hung out with the wrong crowd all through high school and ended up as a douchey, beer swilling, ignorant asshole by the time he was a junior in college. He was majoring in industrial machinery, and looking at a bright future in a booming industry after grad. With not a care in the world and feeling like the world was at his feet, he and his frat brothers who all felt the same way, rampaged around, doing all the various horrible things you'd imagine they'd do; bullying weaker students, harassing women, throwing wild parties for days on end, complete disregard for the way their actions affected others, all that standard asshole rich boy frat shit you'd expect. Steven was among the worst of the bunch. He'd always been pretty big, kinda dumb, and desperate for approval. This made him a wonderful son to a loving mother, but also meanest of the mean if dropped into a house full of assholes to egg him on and cheer for his misdeeds. They called him "donger" cause when people would get passed out at parties, he'd lay his dick across their faces and take pictures, then send said pics to every contact they had. It cost people jobs, scholorships, friends, relationships, and caused all manner or pain, but his frat thought it was the coolest thing ever. They'd cheer SO LOUD as he did it that he thought they must really love him.

Then he got shot in the head.

He doesn't know how it happened, who shot him, when, or why as he suffered massive brain damage that night. The entire day is completely gone from his head like it never happened. The police were able to establish where he was shot, due to the trail of blood he left as he wandered aimlessly through the city in a daze with a bullet in his brain, but that and the caliber of bullet was all they ever found out. He was in a coma for 3 years before he awoke with massive memory loss. The farther back in time, the clearer the memories, so he knew his name, his family, how to talk and clean himself and whatnot, but the closer he came to the day he was shot, the fuzzier it all got, leaving him with only vague impressions and flashes of images from high school and almost nothing from college. And with those influences erased from him, he went back to being the kind, gentle, and caring person he was in his youth. He was put back into his frat and re-enrolled in all his classes and intended to start over from the beginning, using special therapy and special needs classes to catch himself up to his peers. He could tell that his mind wasn't quite as sharp as it used to be, and it never was that sharp, so he had to work extra hard. For the first time in college, he wasn't partying or goofing off. He was actually studying and working hard. People he used to mistreat were starting to see him in a new light. He was making REAL friends for the first time in his adult life and was actually happy.

His frat brothers didn't like that. For the three years he'd been gone, "The Donger" had become damn near legendary. It was a whole new group of kids there now, the only ones who remembered him were the seniors, who'd been freshmen when he left, so they already looked at him like a god. After three years of telling more and more grandiose stories about him, he damn near WAS a god in the eyes of that frat. So imagine their disappointment when he wakes up and throws his nose into a book instead of being the raging party beast they'd been told he was. After a few months, they started to hate him, and ridicule him behind his back. He wasn't so stupid that he didn't know, and slowly, he came to realize they weren't the kind of people he wanted to be around.

It all came to a head at a party the frat was throwing one night. Steven had a big exam the next day, so was studying in his room, trying to block out the noise, when it finally became intolerable. They KNEW that there was that ONE song he just fucking hated, "Bip Me, Baby Bae" by S4m@nth3, it was. Well that night, they played that song over and over and over again for three solid hours, each time getting louder than the time before. Then, in the quiet, between repeats, he heard them laughing. Something in him snapped. He grabbed the closest object to him which happened to be his backpack full of books, charged downstairs, and proceeded to beat the everloving shit out of everyone within arms reach. Once the house was clear, he regained some semblance of his sanity and began to assess the damage he'd caused. It wasn't serious, but there was a LOT. No one was seriously injured, but a lot of people were hurt pretty bad, including him. His backpack hung in tatters from his bruised and swollen hand, and the main room in his frathouse was more trashed than he'd ever seen it. He ran back upstairs, packed up as much of his shit as he could, and hauled ass before the police got there.

There'd always been this joke among his classmates. Anytime someone was really worried about a test or a grade, they'd say "Hey, if it doesn't work out, you can always go work a tow rig in australia." It was meant as kind of a jab, like they were above doing anything like that, but now, with his whole life in a bag, and the cops soon to be after him, it sounded like heaven. A new name? A new history? A fresh start! A few shady fake SIN deals later, and he was there. It only took 4 days to get hired on with the new company after seeing how skilled he was with a wrench, not to mention his size stood as a deterrent to theft of company property. He was so happy, eager, and stupid, than when they asked him his name, he cheerfully responded in an instant "Donger, sir!" and the name has stuck. So, maybe not a new name, but everything else is just as he'd hoped it would be.

Donger is a happy guy, full of love and compassion for everyone. He's pretty dumb though and is rather easy to take advantage of.

i mean, like, where are we based? when we take the truck back to the company to fix/upgrade it, where do we go?

I honestly can't find a better resolution map with that much info on it. If you can find a better one that doesn't take up a lot of space, post it.

Port Augusta is the place for repairs and such as that's your home base and is the base for other teams as its near major roads and such. For major repairs, upgrades(as rare as they be) and turning in the truck when fired is Adelaide as that is the closest major office and where general calls are taken and then sent to sub-offices. These are for the people that are new to the system or not familiar with it or never learned the number to the sub-office closest to them. Good?

Dr. Barkov was formerly a cybertechnology surgeon and well respected physician by the name of Dr. Ivan Lagunov. However, the good doctor is a man of many vices, and after one bad night involving a great deal of Vodka and the daughter of a Vory lieutenant, he fled Russia, changed his name, and underwent extensive surgery to hide his identity, much of which he performed on himself. (The alcohol really helped.) Now a somewhat disfigured looking dwarf, Dr. Barkov gets by on a Fake SIN in a place he hopes no one is looking for him; Australia. He keeps his history tight lipped, but his love of alcohol and women have not diminished. Dr. Barkov met Wide Eyes after getting stranded in the wilderness and almost eaten by dingos. Wide Eyes showed up and saved his life, and they've been good friends ever since.

"Muddy" - Human(?) Drug Dealer

Nobody knows Muddy's real name, just that he apparently suffers from some skin condition that covers him in brown patches that look like mud. He's the weirdo on the street corner that was just there one day, as if he just congealed out of the bricks when nobody was looking. No one ever sees him coming or going, he's just there when you're looking for him, and gone by the time you turn away. There's something very odd about him that you can't quite place, and he's not exactly the most talkative guy; it's questionable if he even speaks English fluently. But when it comes to getting drugs, he always has the good stuff in supply, though nobody would be able to tell you where he gets it. Wide Eyes met Muddy during his time in university, having felt a strange connection between Muddy and the loa. He tried to ask Muddy about this, and Muddy replied by dosing him with Jazz and telling him to try and explain the experience to a fire hydrant. Wide Eyes doesn't really know what to think of Muddy, but he is a convenient supply of Jazz.

Anna Beaulieu - Elf Talismonger

A rare example of a Vodou practitioner in Australia, Anna owns a small talismonger shop in Port Augusta that Wide Eyes frequents for all his magical needs. She's an alchemist and artificer, and mostly gets by selling magical compounds to those that are interested in them, as well as providing a wide variety of reagents to the awakened community. Wide Eyes is one of the few Vodou Bokor that frequents her shop, and she's more than happy to provide him with supplies that fits his tradition.

Description

Wide Eyes is tall and lithe, with long limbs and little girth to his body, in either muscle or fat. His hair is black and buzzed short, and his skin tone and features show his heritage as half Aborigine. Across his face he has large white tattoos of tribal lines that encircle his eyes, with spikes that go a few inches up onto his forehead and down onto his cheeks. He keeps his beard somewhat shaved, but maintains almost perpetual stubble.

Background

William Jepson was born to an Aborigine woman and a white Australian man in the late 2040s, and lived with his parents in Darwin for the first few years of his life. However while he was still young, his father became enamored with the Universal Brotherhood, and joined the Darwin chapter not long after it first opened its doors. His mother still believed in her traditional religion, and was disturbed by the organization and took offense to her husband's attempts to get her to join the cult, and ended up leaving him and returning to her tribe. She never saw him again, and William barely remembers his father.

William was raised as an Aborigine in his mother's tribe near Alice Springs, and was discovered to be Awakened at a young age by the tribe's Koradji. He was trained to hear the song of the Dreaming and prepared to find his Totem, and when he reached the right age, was sent out into the Outback on walkabout. He wandered the land for many days, following the song lines and reciting the songs he was taught to call out to his totem, but it was not one of the ancestral spirits of the land that found him, but rather the Major Loa Ogoun. Ogoun showed him the true way of magic, the way of Vodou. William opened his eyes for the first time, and saw the world for what it was, and how the loa filled it.

William returned as Wide Eyes, face painted with the pattern he would later permanently tattoo over his eyes. His tribe was confused by his demeanor when he returned, and shunned him for turning his back on tradition and accepting a form of magic foreign to them. But Wide Eyes could no more change his tradition than learn to breathe water, and so he left his tribal home and forged his own path.

Wide Eyes survived off the land and wandered the Australian outback for many years, following the song lines and studying the mana storms. He split his time between the untamed wild that he felt was his real home, and the cities of southern Australia that held the necessary supplies he needed to enjoy it. He took a few years to study magic in all its forms at university, and debated the understanding of magic with many. He found he took a special dislike to adepts, who he felt were disrespecting the loa by incorporating magic into themselves without any connection to the spirits that create that power.

In his mid twenties, Ogoun showed Wide Eyes his true calling, when he found a dwarf lost in the wilderness, exhausted and without supplies and in danger of being eaten by dingos. Wide Eyes rescued the dwarf, gave him food and water, and led him back to civilization. He was a doctor who had been on his way to Melbourne when his car broke down and he had been stranded. He was profoundly grateful to Wide Eyes for rescuing him, and Wide Eyes felt a great deal of satisfaction using his skills to bring this man back from the edge of death.

After that, Wide Eyes sought out ways to help more people in situations like the doctor, and came to find the towing company. He joined up and has been riding with them ever since, headed out into the bush to find the poor sods who have no way to come back.

That's average lifespan. The book also puts humans at an average lifespan of 65. Orks lose about 20 years, that's why I guessed that it'd be pushing 70.

The guy who put the current ware in Jackie, not much else to say about the fellow.

Description

Jackie is a sore sight, about average height but quite skinny with a perpetual grin on his face that he would himself refer to as 'roguish' but other would be more likely to call 'a shit eating grin of a bloke up to no good'. In towns Jackie can usually be found in the local pub futilely trying to chat up some of the local girls. From the poor starting point of simply not being very handsome Jackie is further hindered in those endeavors by the fact that the used ware he had installed causes his movements to be slightly twitchy and unnatural.

Background

Curtis Jackson was born and raised on a farm just outside of Darwin. He rode his first dirt bike around the age of 6 and fell instantly in love, he in fact spent most of his waking hours from that time riding around the farm or the surrounding countryside. Just about the only thing that would hinder him would be when the bike broke down and he had to wait for his dad to fix it, poor Curtis just never did see why you'd need to put ALL the screws in their place when putting the things back together.

Jackie found his second love when his parents deemed him old enough to watch the Combat Biking with his older brothers, from that moment on Jackie was adamant about becoming a combat biker. As soon as he was old enough to go on the open tryouts being held periodically in Darwin he was there. Unfortunately Jackie had only ever ridden the dirt bikes back home and was totally unprepared for the difference in weight and power of the Scorpion bike being used in the tryouts. Jackie wiped out, HARD, and was politely but firmly told that he had no business in combat biking. Jackie was absolutely heartbroken and returned to the farm with his tail between his legs.

Shortly thereafter a tow group from Lucky Eddie's was passing through the road that went by the farm, well limping might be a better way to describe it, and Jackie's father offered them to stop for some cool lemonade and help with the repair they so very obviously needed. It turned out that they had several jobs 'open up' during their trip from Port Augusta and Jackie leaped on the chance for adventure and excitement. Been doing the tow job for a couple of years now and somehow managed to stay alive, even managed to scrounge up enough cash for some used ware which will hopefully help him survive a bit longer still.

I'm saying with how technology is, the average lifespan of a Human is 70, but thats not the age were people can die. The reason why its 70 is a lot of people die when they are younger that are poor, at the wrong place at the wrong time or their jobs had risks. The Corpses and CEOs would have a longer lifespan as long as nothing exciting happened to them, so you get people going over 70 somewhat easily. As for the orks, the maximum age will be 65, with 40 being the average cause of their tendency to get into fights. Raven, you can have the Age quality and have his age be set to 41-45 if you wish.

I did think they could stack since I didn't find anywhere that they couldn't. Was asking to be sure I wasn't missing anything.
Getting +4d6 to healing would obviously be very nice. However it doesn't explicitly say anywhere that I can find that they do stack so I'm quite alright with leaving this up to Blazrath as per:

True, but by taking the Negative quality I could have a couple of shenigans in store for it. Like it replaces itself with the spare part you needed and ate most of the food and such. Cute shit like that. Stuff that will make you mad, but then it will give you a look.

The streets of Adeleide can be tough, and while it's every man or woman for theirself, it can be good to huddle up with someone and pass the time, share a bottle, and maybe your bed. She's tough, fluent with the street life, and can handle her liquor. Plus, she keeps her ears open, and every once and awhile she can really surprise him.

Thats up to you mate. Sorry on the late reply, as you know I have had some difficulties.

While its true Lucky Eddie's is a rough crew, they do keep an eye on the ones that society like less and would be less likely to give higher end jobs in case the customer looks up who is rescuing them and sees red flags. Its bad for business if you have rapists, thieves and murderers working for you, but they may still hire the person knowing that it may be best for them to not be near society.

Its enclosed, but has a turret on top with a hatch that opens up to let the gunner out to play. Its so that when you batten down the hatches and huddle together, the theory is the storm will not get inside, which is a good thing.

It looks like she is running the show and they are dressed similarly in what seems to be almost military, but different from current dress.

As for the astral, you see that these are a group vastly comprised of adepts with the humans with a mage in the bunch, while the metas look like they are big. Strangely though, not a single bit of cyberware on any of them.

Raven: They are not friendly, but they are not overtly hostile right now. They look like they are still trying to figure out their next move with you. As for weapons, you see on them light weaponry for use on bikes, though you can't really see the bikes well enough to see if they have weapons and if they did, what type. They also seem to eye you for a while, thinking if one was crazy enough to start it, it probably be you so they leave before you get close and you have the general sense with keeping you skin on you to not overtly follow them.
