Title: MMO(?) - Shadow Realms
Post by: AJCarrington on <08-23-14/1145:43>
New game on the horizon from BioWare: Shadow Realm (https://www.shadowrealms.com/).  Not quite cyberpunk, but seems to have urban magic/fantasy well in hand. Might be interesting.

Looks a lot like The Secret World (http://www.thesecretworld.com/), but without the MMO part.

Agreed, but not sure how the online game will work as I don't think there's a single player option.

The way I understood it, there's 5 players.  4 are the good guys, the 5th is the bad guy, who gets to build an army to kill the good guys.  It's a lot like the concept behind Evolve (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolve_(video_game)).  It's an intriguing concept that hasn't really been tested out in the wilds of AAA video game design yet.  I'm looking forward to it simply because presumably some aspect of BioWare is behind the project.  But I'm a little disappointed to find out it has almost no RPG elements.

Thanks...somehow missed that. Should be interesting to see how this develops, but agree that it's too bad they're not focusing much on the RPG side.
