Anyone have any ideas for a fun Halloween themed run that I can put my guys through around, Halloween?
Preferably a side job style run.

I might be able to come up with something more reasonable when it's not 1 AM, but the first thing that came to mind was this.
A small subsidiary for Ares is creating a new super weapon. Supposedly, it will be completely unable to be detected. They are supposed to be very close to completion. (Hint: It's a pumpkin bomb...)
Runners can be hired to datasteal (anonymous tip is given to Johnson's corp and they somehow believe it), wreck the facility (Johnson's corp is concerned about it and wants it just gone), extract researcher(s) (Someone is willing to defect), you name it. And yes, this is incredibly goofy and probably not what you're looking for.
Or, possibly go down the route of some sort of ritual blood magic being performed by vampires. That might be more ... up your alley. God, my sense of humor is bad.
The possibilities are almost endless with the different variations HMHVV. I might get something more serious up tomorrow.

Add to all of the above a networked group of folx convinced that Dunklezahn ISN'T REALLY DEAD, and you've got a good headstart on April 1.
The runners ought to question a lot of EVERYTHING THEY KNOW IS WRONG when when the Johnson hiring them to obtain proof turns out to be a highly placed member of the Children of the Dragon, who gets some SERIOUS FRAGGING HELLFIRE dropped on him, by someone apparently linked to DIMR.
And then they actually find something. Some paydata showing "unusual financial activity" by his former translator Nadja Daviar and recent-looking photos of her (which are nuyen in and of themselves, regardless of what the truth might be).
About that point, the UCAS Government is going to take notice of people taking notice of things better left unnoticed, and the Shadowrunners are probably going to have to leave town for a while, which will leave lots of angry people holding empty bags.

So, you just took my probably silliest idea I've had in a while and made it sound awesome. I just have to say, wow, that is pretty amazing.

Yeah, I'm thinking of utlizing it for a side job.

The Season-4 sequel to Humanitarian Aid, Romero and Juliette, took place at Halloween and is basically a Shedim infestation. Make sure Shedims have Immunity to Normal Weapons and an SR5 conversion of it could be a Thriller. Though I'd also add more humor to it.

*A run into the sealed off levels of the ACHE
*Ghouls are trick or treating in the barrens -- the "treats" aren't too happy about it and hire the runners for protection
*Standard run -- but, meet with Johnson at a Halloween themed club party - costumes required! ;D
*A data steal in a Halloween themed Host
*Headware memory recovery from a morgue or from a grave in a cemetery
*Artifact in a mausoleum in a cemetery - maybe down in New Orleans? Marie Laveau or something saying it is her shows up (or is the Johnson)
*Run in with the Halloweeners - standard ganger fun!
*Group of corp kids 'pretending' to be zombies disappear with no trace - Johnson hires runners to find them
*A run that ends up in the deep dark sewers...
*An invitation to a Halloween Party - could lead to pretty much anything!
*A free spirit that is a trickster takes an interest in the runners
*How do Head Cases handle their first Halloween? Could be a fun run or a serious depending how you spin it.
I've always wanted to do a Halloween run - maybe I'll do that this year! Good call!!! 8)

Bonus points if you get hired by Mr. Gunderson.

When I applied for the CDT, I created an introductory adventure based on a local Baltimore legend from the 1950s, "The Phantom of O'Donnell Heights", with a neighborhood association pooling their funds to have some shadowrunners look into whatever was terrorizing their neighborhood. Here's a reference to the legend:

A search for folklore local to your area might turn up similar nuggets.

This is a Nashville campaign, and there is something about the haunted sewers out here I may have to check out. Although I guarentee that if it is a locals pooling funds thing some of the team members from the last campaign will get hyper paranoid (last time i did that was for some old retired mages that ended up framing them for murdering 30 or so Orcs and had to clear their name before KE nabbed 'em)

In this case, the people pooling funds were along the lines of the guy who owns the corner bar, the owner of the local bodega-style mini-grocery store, folks like that. But again, it was an adventure for beginning characters.

Intelligent Dzoo-noo-qua....
or if you're not going for a TPK
Dirty Knight Errant Officer (Headcase?) decides Devils Night is a good idea to bring back to Detroit?
-
Just make sure not to send your players into the Ork Underground and have them encounter converted Ghost Gators, those things are deadly.

Someone had a Sega! ;)

Mark Gunderson, "Hoi friend, call me Mr. Johnson, I hear Mr. Gunderson I look for my dad", is a low-tier Johnson in my campaign. ^_^

But Why would shedim know the Michael Jackson dance routine… nevermind forget I said anything.

Because MJ obviously did a deal with Beelzebub to make that song a hit, and so they have "eternal rights" to do remakes of it.
