Hardly. Though you'd might pis of some cops who might think you are filming them.
It'd be popular in college towns.

It's cute though.

This is going to get some punk kid killed.
I can just see some moron kid jumping out into traffic to dodge getting 'killed' in the game....
Or at the very least, get the crap kicked outta him by someone who thinks the kid is taking pictures of his girlfriend/boyfriend..

Eh. The traffic thing is possible cause for concern, but the phone camera things isn't a big deal, people are taking pictures with phones and tablets all the time.
Ingress hasn't caused massive traffic accidents, which I felt fairly sure it would when it launched so I expect this will work out fine as well.

it seems cool, but how many people in our local areas will actually play such a thing? If you and all your friends are going to download it and play it together, why not just buy nerf guns? I don't really see the point honestly :(

Looks like a fun concept. My concern would be twofold. First, many of us (myself included) who call themselves gamers are not svelte, athletic types. That's changing, and this is probably a step in the right direction there. But I know my fat ass ain't getting off the bench when my phone says there are enemies nearby. I'd be far more likely to camp. :P Second, there have to be enough players in your area to make an ad hoc game. I predict we'll more likely see people scheduling matches in advance, with pre-determined "arenas." Still, this is the future of laser tag, so I'm cool with watching it. It's certainly more entertaining to watch than League of Legends on the MLG Twitch channel.

Ive been to a couple LoL games in LA. They're pretty fun to watch..people get really into it, lol. (I used to play...my sister in law, brother and mom all love watching the games. (It's not my thing, but I enjoyed it when I went).

i saw a LoL match a gen con. A Darius player got an Ace and yelled "GET DUNKED!" at the top of his lungs. It was amazing
As for the game itself, I could see people trying to set up a LARP for something using this app. A lot less investment than buying a nerf arsenal. I guess it just all rests on what the app's payment model is.
