-- Name --
Johnson Frederick
-- Alias --
Silk
-- Background --
Silk was born to a low class family, you know the normal story and all that drek. When he turned 15, he Awakened, discovering he had great powers. He started hearing a voice that guided him for years; eventually teaching him to summon and revere the loa. Silk realized the loa could be harsh masters, but they were kind if you kept them appeased and they lent him much power. He started making his way into the shadows and has grown a reputation for having a silk-tounge, able to convince anyone of anything.
-- Appearance --
Tall and slender, pale skin, green eyes, and brown hair. Dresses in a snazzy Vashon Island suit. When he looks at people, he looks as if he doesn't really see them as people, just another mark to assess and deal with; whether through words or violence. He's very naturally charismatic, but something about him is slightly unsettling.

Lothan the Wise | Talismonger
Connection 4 | Loyalty 3
Lothan the Wise ran the shadows of Seattle for many years, his prime being during the mid-’60s when he mentored and teamed with Street Legend Kellan Colt. He considers himself a mystical genius which he backs up with towering confidence and arrogance, and he considers himself an expert in all areas of magic and magic theory. His attitude may be a little unwarranted, but you cannot deny he knows a lot about magic. He moved to Chicago a couple years ago and opened up a talismonger shop called “The Wisest Troll.”
Lothan is an aging Troll, though he is still massive and powerful. What he has lost in physical prowess, he makes up for in magical ability. His hair is bone white, and he dresses very flashy, favoring purple and gold robes over his armor, and he wears expensive jewelry that doubles as powerful magical foci.

Sarah Silverleaf | Fixer
Connection 5 | Loyalty 2
Sarah Silverleaf is a gorgeous and intelligent elven representative for Renraku in Chicago. She recently transferred here from Tîr Tairngire, taking over the operations that Renraku had largely abandoned following Bug City. With the Governor’s call to reclaim downtown Chicago, Sarah is looking to not only reclaim lost Renraku property, but to also grab as much land as possible. She may be a curvy knockout, but anyone who underestimates her lives to regret it.
Sarah looks like a buxom, blonde “naughty secretary,” a look she plays up for all it’s worth. Short skirts, low-cut blouses, and a flirty smile backed up by big credstick get this lady anything she wants.

Loyalty: Max Starting 2

'Egrand' Alexeij | Gang Leader
Connection 4 | Loyalty 2
After their previous leader, self-proclaimed King Vlad, died in June of 2068 in a violent dispute with the True Chicagoans over highway tolls for stretches of the interstates running through Horde-controlled territory, the ork gang boss Alexeij took over command of the Horde and its primarily metahuman population. Alexeij emerged undefeated in the fights for succession and immediately relocated his headquarters to the Govinda Enterprises Golf Course, between Jefferson Park and Lincolnwood.
The Horde consists of numerous small- and mid-sized gangs sworn to Alexeij. Each outfitt controls its own turf and sources of income. Every month or two, there’s a big to-do where the gangbosses bring gifts to the Egrand, who divvies them up—insuring that every gang has what it needs to survive.
Heavily involved in the Or’zet movement and ork subculture, Alexeij remodeled his mob’s structure and war council hierarchy according to ork urban legends. While he handles trade negotiations with outside enclaves, his lieutenants carry out raids or run the regular bloodsport events and rutra matches (Or’zet: ork martial art).
The most prominent gangs under Alexeij’s direct control are the Nko-Ga (Or’zet: Metal fists), the Fleshmongers, and the Scorchers. Our internal investigations pinpoint the Fleshmongers as the responsible party for the organized grave robbery throughout the Montrose and Bohemian National Cemeteries this summer.
While outnumbered by other factions, the Egrand and his gangs have access to a large pool of vehicles put together and maintained with parts acquired during raids or from trading. The Horde collects a toll from anyone traveling on the highways or through Alexeij’s turf. Primarily trading mechanical parts or surplus vehicles with the Northside collectives, any contraband or black market merchandise is sold to Alexeij’s smuggler contacts near Calumet. Alexeij maintains tight relationships with outside smuggler outfits, exclusively delivering their contraband to Hordecontrolled markets, while his mechanics provide maintenance work for the smugglers’ T-Birds and VTOL’s.
--------------------------------
Johnny Greene | Smuggler
Connection 5 | Loyalty 2
Johnny Greene is a rough and grim looking Dwarf. Spending most of your life in the CZ will do that to you. Born in 2050, he grew up tough like most who lived in the CZ, and he quickly found out he was exceptional at finding the ins and outs through Chicago.
As soon as he could, he got himself fitted with a control rig and started his own smuggling business. He spent some time away from Chicago building his list of contacts, but he's back now. Most people know him; if you need it, he can get it for you. It's only logical that you would pay through the nose for it.
Quote: "I can get you what you need. Nobody knows how to circumvent security like me. Of course, I'm sure we can come to a completely reasonable price."
--------------------------------
Bao Stephano | Anarchist Black Crescent Medic
Connection 2 | Loyalty 5
Of Vietnamese and Italian ancestry, Bao is a bruiser of an ork who tools around the mean streets of Chicago on a bicycle that he's adapted to be a med station on wheels. He typically wears a nón lá that has crescents spray painted across its top, has a reddish tint to his straight brown hair, and is fond of referring to his "appointments" as a "stitch and bitch." He's given surprising berth by the Ancients, and it's rumored that he may know a guy or two in The Makers.
"Hoi, is that all chummer," Bao said as he sprayed down his gloves with homemade vinegar. "Well, brush that glass aside b'fore you lay down and let me take a look. We gotta make this quick, I got a stitch and bitch at 9:00."

Johnny grew up on the streets and was a collector for the local gang. After a few years of collecting "protection payments" he realized he was part of the problem and not the solution. Now he is looking at bigger dreams – maybe be the cowboys of old, ride into town, cause a ruckus, and get more than a few bad guys to reconsider their life choices. If he makes a few friends and a little cred while cleaning the streets, all the better. He needs both, and fast, eventually some souped up little jazzhead is gonna get him...

Carmen Mejia: ABC Blackstar Operative

Carmen's a nice lady, or guy -- it's hard to tell really, and that's not exactly a question you ask if you're looking to make friends. S/he is pretty well-respected in the ABC community as a whole, and does some Blakstar jobs, though usually non-essential ones. With an ear to the ground, and an uncanny knowledge of Chicago's alleys and turf beefs, Carmen is someone whom Baby Hardcore has been known to rely on when he gets in a jam. The fact that s/he doesn't believe the rumors flying around about him help too. Always nice to have someone in your corner.

-- Name --
Aslyn Winters
-- Alias --
"Sliver"
-- Background --
Growing up, Aslyn was always seen around the neighborhood smiling, a happy girl in an unhappy place. She became well known by everyone around her, and brought a glimmer of sunshine in an otherwise joyless sprawl. That was her norm, until shortly after she awakened at age 12. One day 3 years ago, Aslyn was not seen again. Her apartment was burnt down, and her parents found inside, shot and burnt.
Now 3 years later she has resurfaced. A Shell of her former self. Where once was a smile, now lies a stoic, cold, expressionless demeanor. Little is known about what has happened to her. Rumors are that she was taken by an especially sadistic drug dealer, experimented on with genetic experiments. Her Torso now riddled with scars, gives glimpses of the hell she has been through, though Aslyn herself will speak almost nothing of her time gone.
After a brief stay with Baby Hardcores Mother, Aslyn has begun her decent into the Shadows. Who knows what beyond survival drives this broken flower now, but its certain that that joyful smile will not be back anytime soon.
-- Appearance --
Aslyn is 5'7" , were it not for the appearance of living on the streets, she might even be considered beautiful, though that no longer holds any value to her. Her hair is dirty blond, and skin fair, though often too dirty to tell. She is even more frail in appearance than most 15 year olds you will encounter, a side affect of her captivity. Her torso is riddled with injection scars, and healed gunshot wounds.

Aslyn found this hacker in the matrix during her captivity. Aslyn was injected for years with Technomancer DNA after her awakening, and began being able to access the matrix during her dreams. Together they hatched a plan that brought about Aslyn's escape from captivity. She has since sought him out, and he helps find her work, or access his deck, since she no longer transcends in her sleep.

'Egrand' Alexeij | Gang Leader
Connection 4
People who have him as a Contact: Silk (8-bit), Johnny Lash (Imveros)
Silk knows him through mutual work for his gang. You can't cross the turf without giving a little, so Silk helps out in return for free passage, information, and the occasional bit of help.
Johnny has run one of 'Egrand' Alexeij's smaller gangs for a few years now, never misses a tribute payment, never starts any trouble with leadership, and run a tight ship. Johnny is not his go to man by any means, but Egrand knows he can be trusted and what more can you ask for in bug city?
Lothan the Wise | Talismonger
Connection 4
People who have him as a Contact: Silk (8-bit)
Lothan has a lot of knowledge, as well as power. Silk knows he is no match for the Troll, but Lothan runs a good business in dealing with magical goods. He also has some wisdom to share occasionally, as well as tidbits of information about the current situation in Chicago. Any little piece of information is useful for Silk's own needs. It doesn't hurt that he has a lot of good stuff to buy either.
Sarah Silverleaf | Fixer
Connection 5
People who have her as a Contact: Silk (8-bit), Sliver (Shrazkil)
As someone who is trying to rise through the ranks of Shadow and political society, Silk has made the acquaintance of the stunning Sarah Silverleaf. He knows he's playing a dangerous game, she's got influence and is extremely good at manipulating people. Silk thinks he hasn't fallen for anything, yet, but in the meantime, Sarah provides jobs and someone who is more than Silk's equal to keep him on his toes. Silk also knows how to read between the lines to occasionally pick up information that she may subtly drop, but she is usually pretty good at not letting anything slip.
Red Midnight mentioned Sarah Silveleaf as a good place to get started getting back on Sliver's feet. Silk also put a good word in and help setup the initial introduction. Have used her for a couloir small jobs, in order to get what little gear Aslyn has.
Johnny Greene | Smuggler
Connection 5
People who have him as a Contact: Silk (8-bit)
Silk knew Johnny when they were both younger. Johnny always was a bit of a nut for cars, and he always knew his way around the CZ, better than anyone else Silk knew. Johnny jumped ship to start his own smuggling business as soon as he could, but he's back in Chicago now. He still knows the streets like no one else, and he has connections to get you what you need. You have to pay through the nose for it, but Silk knows a good opportunity when he sees one.
Bao Stephano | Medic
Connection 2
People who have him as a Contact: Silk (8-bit), Baby Hardcore (rednblack)
Bao was given quite surprising freedom when passing through the various gang turfs of the CZ. Silk definitely noticed that. Silk kept an eye on him for a while, and eventually introduced himself. Turns out Bao was having some trouble getting through Alexeij's territory. Silk helped him out there, even though Silk owed a lot of favors to Alexeij after that. He slowly built and maintained his relationship with Bao, as you never knew when you would need help; and you needed someone who wasn't part of law enforcement. While they aren't that close of friends, they have built up a sort of camaraderie. They both will go out of their way to help each other, because that's what you do for those you trust, neh? A little strange that Bao is one of the few people Silk trusts that much.
Baby Hardcore and Bao Stephano have a bit of a purple past, but that's all water under the bridge now. There were some beefs over girls way back when, and some other "out-politicizing" one another as they both came to the ABC at around the same time, but Bao was one of the guys who never bought into the rumors about Baby Hardcore after his eye went milky, and for whatever reason it was that Bao decided to side with him, Baby has never forgotten that and thinks of himself in Bao's debt as a result. Aside from that, Baby's chosen profession puts him in the way of bullets, and Bao's chosen profession involves extracting said bullets, so there's always that.
Three Fingers | Bartender
Connection 3
People who have him as a Contact: Johnny Lash (Imveros)
Thee fingers has no elaborate back story. He is simply the bartender at my favorite watering hole. From time to time he sells me info for cred and other times I sell him info to settle my, or a friends, tab.
Nick Ryder | Lone Star Detective
Connection 3
People who have him as a Contact: Johnny Lash (Imveros)
Johnny was on his way home from the bar, sobriety was so last week, and witnessed a mugging. He drew his pistol and cracked his whip just as he notices the other 3 orcs. Half way into getting his ass whoopin, Nick Comes around the corner, flashes his badge, and scares the thugs off. Nick tossed me his card and said he can always use the com number to a good man willing to get his hands dirty, or ass beat at it was, for the right cause.

RM exploits an unknown corporate source to gain access to privileged information, beyond that connection, he specializes in jobs at the neighborhood level.

If anyone wants to post below or PM me any connections I may have missed, I'll edit this post.

Red midnight mentioned Sarah Silveleaf as a good place to get started getting back on Slivers feet. Silk also put a good word in and help setup the initial introduction. Have used her for a couloir small jobs, in order to get what little gear Aslyn has.

All right, added that one in.
Still need Johnny Lash's relationship to Three Fingers, and Nick Ryder, possibly 'Egrand' Alexeij, if I missed something. Also need Baby Hardcore's relationship to Bao Stephano.

Thee fingers has no elaborate back story. He is simply the bartender at my favorite watering hole. From time to time he sells me info for cred and other times i sell him info to settle my, or a friends, tab
Nick tossed me his card and said he can always use the com number to a good man willing to get his hands dirty, or ass beat at it was, for the right cause

<backstory stuff>
All right, cool. Thanks for helping out. I added that to the list.
Looks like all the contacts and connections to contacts stuff is worked out now.

Waitaminute???
Johnny lash runs a gang?!

Johnny lash runs a gang?!
That was my understanding.

@imveros, can you elaborate a bit on how running a gang fits in with Johnny's whole "trying to be part of the solution, not the problem" thing?
-
He runs a gang of like mind people who actually protect the people under his care. They don't run drugs or prostitution rings or anything. They are more like the Skraacha from season 4, an informal police force for the orc underground in Seattle, than a traditional gang. It's not a large group, mostly a few scrawny humans and an orc who were tired of seeing people pushed around, and doesn't have a large turf, a few blocks at most are all they can keep safe from the other larger, meaner gangs. Honestly Egrand's rules for no inner gang conflicts are all that keep them on the map

How many people are we talkin about here?
I almost feel like being a gang leader, even of a small gang, would put a LOT more power behind your actions than the average runner. It seems like something like that should be a positive quality one buys or something. What if you're more of a respected high up in the gang, but you're not really in charge of anyone, directly. If shit hits the fan, you can call your higher up in the gang and have a few heads show up somewhere, probably. I'd just make you spend a decent amount on said higher up, who would be your contact.

That's honestly exactly what I'm doing. 'Egrand' Alexeij runs the gang, and i am an intermediary. I also envisioned it as three or four other people and they were more like hype men than useful minions. When shit hits the fan, i fight, they hide, then if i win they come out and throw insults. If that's no good then we can play another angle. Egrand' Alexeij wants me to run one of his gangs, but that's not his style. They are still friends because Egrand' holds out hope one day Johnny will give up this "shadowrunning nonsense" and Johnny is his friend because he is trying to get the gang violence under control and at least curb collateral damage while trying to give the metas a home

OK, i need just a few more questions answered before I can start rocking this.
1- I need to know where in chicago everyone lives. If ya aint looked through feral cities yet, I'd suggest it.
2- I need to know if you're all going to a meet, how you get there, typically speaking.
3- I need to know how many of you have non-shadowrunning means of earning money, and if so, what.
4- I need to know how you get shadorunning jobs. Is it through a fixer contact of yours? Do you hang out in runner bars? What's your "in"?

I found this link and it seems like it will be super useful. Just wanted to get it out there while i work on my questions. I'll edit in the answers when I'm done!

Johnny lives in the Jefferson park area just inside the old containment zone. That is in between old I 94 and I 90 just inside the wall
2- I need to know if you're all going to a meet, how you get there, typically speaking.
I Will take my noble steed King (aka my Harley-Davidson Scorpion)
3- I need to know how many of you have non-shadowrunning means of earning money, and if so, what.
From time to time Egrand gives me jobs guarding convoys of supplies to the various gang territories and the occasional reward from the people he saves. Still times are often hard and Johnny is no stranger to diving for a snack when he thinks no one is looking

Johnny spends a lot of time in three-fingers bar and has developed a bit of a reputation for being a bruiser. Three-fingers keep his ear to the ground for Johnny knowing that most of the money he makes will be spent at the bar eventually anyway...

1. Silk lives where North Park University used to be. According to the map Imveros linked, that is right inside the Horde's turf. Makes me feel glad I know a guy or two.
2. I walk. Lots and lots of walking. Like, neverending walking. What can I say; I don't have money.
3. Kind of? I mean, I do an odd job here or there for people (including the Horde). Usually it's for information, sometimes, when money's tight, it's for money.
4. Mostly by keeping his ear to the ground. He hangs out in bars, occasionally, as he enjoys having a drink or two and picking up rumors. More recently, he has started getting a couple jobs handed his way through Sarah Silverleaf; he's only recently made her acquaintance. Scary lady, but brings good work.

Baby Hardcore's squat is between Deerfield and Highland Park, just west of Highway (or maybe it's an Interstate) 41
2- I need to know if you're all going to a meet, how you get there, typically speaking.
Baby Hardcore does a lot of walking as well, when he can't bum a ride. Sometimes he'll "rent" a car from somebody else in the ABC, but that's usually reserved for doing ABC business.
3- I need to know how many of you have non-shadowrunning means of earning money, and if so, what.
For us anarchists, mutual aid is the name of the game. No real use for nuyen in a barter economy, wiz? Baby Hardcore does a little trading and a little work for the ABC, and that's how he gets by. Sometimes it's security detail work, and other times it's helping with classes, or tending the gardens, though he needs a lot of direction on the latter.
4- I need to know how you get shadorunning jobs. Is it through a fixer contact of yours? Do you hang out in runner bars? What's your "in"?
Larry the Rat is BH's principle in, though Jaime has been known to toss him some work now and then.
