Anyone played the indie game titled "Cypher" and can offered any thoughts? Can be found here : http://www.cabrerabrothers.com/
It is an indie text adventure game with some enhancements with graphics and audio. In other words, a new game with old-school mechanics : you actually type commands to do anything, like those old Sierra games.
The few reviews say the story and mood are great but the parser is tedious and the text could really use an editor/proofreader. I can endure some amount of bad writing (english is not my first language anyway) if the general setting and mood hit the spot... So, any thoughts? :)

Sounds interesting, but not sure a text adventure is really my thing these days (spoiled by all the pretty graphics out there). That being said, the artwork developed to support the game looks really nice...will give this some thought as might pick it up for the concept art alone.

it looks cool, but sadly my gaming budget is quite sickly this time of year. Also with the steam winter sale looming i don't think my bank account can take it!
I have bookmarked it though and may come back to it in the future!

Yikes...another Steam sale...sigh... ;)

A compelling story will always be the most important factor for me, but yeah artwork helps too. :) Oh well, I guess I'll take a chance and buy it soon : that would be my last christmas gift for this year however lol. I'll post some thoughts about it after a few hours of play (but I have to finish Dragonfall Director's Cut first).

My credit card is crying and my banker is laughing... is that a good sign? ;)

I will try to resist this time lol... with the new Shadowrun kickstarter around the corner, I actually might be able to convince myself I have enough games in my backlog. ;D

;D
No chance for me...MGS is up for less than $15, Doorkickers ( near looking 2D SWAT-based RTS) is $10...and this is just the opening day... ::)

Darn... I might succumb soon... Knights of the republic 1 and 2... So tempting...
I might use a very useful Jedi mind trick that says that anything bought under 10$ does not count and is nothign to worry about. And a lot of things under 10$ are still a lot of "no worry". Yeah, that might work, yeah... ;D
