Title: Assault Cannon vs Grenades?
Post by: MadBear on <12-20-14/0330:18>
Couldn't find this one with the Search Function, but then, I didn't take many ranks is Computer so my search check was pretty low...

Assault Cannons and Grenade Launchers are completely different, ACs do not fire grenades, they fire AC rounds. My question is, do AC rounds have an Area of Affect like grenades? Do they scatter? Or, are they fired like any other weapon, you roll with a Contested AGL+Heavy vs REA+INT, and that lovely 16P damage is staged up by net hits?

Assault cannons are fired as normal guns. They just have a huge damage code. No AOE, just concentrated damage.

There were AV rounds for them in SR4, I think. -1/-3 as AP. And like others said, there's no Blast effect for Assault Cannons.
