Title: YNT Softweave
Post by: Raven2049 on <12-28-14/1417:23>
Dont know if this should be an erratta or not, but in R&G for cost it says x2.

now does that mean that beings as the armor has to be made with the stuff, and therefore it can only be added at armor purchase, that it doubles the cost of the armor? EX 13,500 x 2 = 27,000

or as Chummer5 wants you to believe as you add it to your armor,  that its cost is an ADDITIONAL x2 to the base cost of your armor. EX 13,500 + (13,500 x 2) = 40,500

i dont believe that the 2nd example is correct. But just asking for clarification

The KISS method would dictate that the cost is merely the cost of whatever armor it is being applied to. However, I do think it would make sense that it would have to be purchased with this particular modification, as it is the material the armor is made of.

As the table entry for YNT looks very similar to the internal smartgun entry on p. 432 CRB, it would be safe to assume that YNT doubles the price of the armor it is added to instead of itself costing double and thereby trippling the price.

But sadly, since we don't have clarifying text on YNT as we have for the internal smart, Chummer5 is correct by RAW. The table in R&G lists the price for armor modifications, and you need to purchase the armor itself, too. :(

I'll ask about the smartlink (and ynt) wording.  I assume that it doubles the cost (as opposed to costing double).

In other news, HeroLab, as the officially endorsed generator program, indeed has both modifications merely costing the same price as the item they're applied to.
