Fog is rolling in heavy on the Seattle waterfront, enough to make anyone want to stay inside. Sadly for shadowrunners, these are the nights you work.

@Calico
Groggily, the sound of a commlink wakes Calico into her room at Hank's. A cup of room temp soycaf sits next to the bed along with a message received almost an hour ago from Manny
Evening Calico, got something you might be into, not your usual but still worth a shot. Head to the Wei Tea house by seven pm for the meet, Mr Johnson will have the details. Good luck.
That was in about an hour, and a 45 minute trip with a good cabbie.
@Tarrane
Dinner was abysmally cheap, again, and has put you in the mood to do nothing tonight, what a perfect time to hear from your fixer Willis Daltree
Evening chummer, you busy tonight? Good. Got a thing you might like, Wei Teahouse at seven and look presentable. Word is there's a solid paycheck somewhere in there.
The tea house is about ten minutes away and the meet isn't for another hour or so. Looks like you've got some time to kill.
@Divilian
You withdraw from meditation as you commlink dings politely at you. It appears to be Manny, a local fixer and mage of some skill
Even Mr Lesterat, I'm putting together a team and your name came up. If your interested meet Mr Johnson at the Wei Tea house at seven, He'll have the details from there.
Your plans to spend another evening in silent contemplation are only viable as long as you can pay rent, you can make the meet with time to spare, but you'll have to leave soon.
@Angus
It's been an easy laid back kind of day, not even a shootout to spice things up, you're just thinking or ordering dinner delivered when your commlink buzz draws your attention from an AR menu
Angus, its McCogni, listen I've got something you might like, it's not for the Family per se but still up your alley and good for us. If your interested hit up the Wei Tea house by seven. Good luck.
So much for dinner, guess it's time to make money rather then spend it.
@Gespenst
You welcome a distraction from another boring matrix debate as a local fixer send you a text
Hello, I'm MRTrebel, seen you on the boards and if your looking for work I've got something you. Meet is happening at the Wei Tea house at seven. If it pans out let me know, I may have more for you to do.
Well one of the matrix kids has just called the other hitler, so while enriching your mind on what inevitably comes next would be fun, maybe it's time to go to work.
-
Terrane goes to his flop and Throws on his Auctioneer Business Suit , puts the mask on sheaths his combat knives in his boots
"well thanks daltree i needed a job you always come through for me" He then slides onto his scorpion and rides over to scope the place out on the outside and will head in 15 before the meet. "wonder who they got me workin with this time, eh gotta be better than that fraggin clops i hadda geek a few weeks ago."
-
Angus smiles down at the table in front of him. Lilith lay open fresh from cleaning. Just in time for the show. As he sets to work putting her back together. She whispers out of the comm link a familiar phrase "Been quit lately." I oblige her with the proper response "Sure look it. Shall we find some noise?" "Aye, I feel I'm due a little" I finish putting her back together and place her within the old cello case with all the other odds and ends needed for a meeting. I look out the window at the fog and smile tonight might turn out better than I thought. I put on my jacket and helmet place the bayonet at my hip and the case on my back. Then walk out of my apartment, locking the door behind me. I hop on my bike and rid out into the night... Hopefully there will be food at the meet.
-
"Dammit dammit dammit!" cursed Calico as she leapt out of bed. Stupid comm, these cheap ass models had shitty software. A decent one would've had a setting to get more insistent if a message went unviewed too long. She needed a better one, but then she needed a number of things she couldn't afford at the moment. Which is why she'd decided it was time to step up her game, get a run with an actual team. Solo work was fine, and she was good at it, but she was tired of just scraping by. It would be nice to get a damn apartment, for God's sake. Maybe Manny'd found her something good this time. But either way, nuyen was nuyen, and showing up late was sloppy. Unprofessional. It was time to get serious about this running thing. To make a name for herself so she could command a higher price.
So don't muck it up, Callie. She hurried outside to grab a cab. Maybe she could use her feminine wiles to coax a little extra urgency from the cabbie.

The Wei Tea house was located at the edge of nice, just a few blocks from industrial grade dangerous. Sitting innocently between a windowless mass of cubicles and a Stuffershack. It's almost without advertising, with the name in ARO as well as paint and the reflective windows hiding the interior.
Surveying the place in advance from outside, Tarrane notes little that stands out. The Industrial area down the street keeps a fairly steady supply of noise and makes the area a little unwelcoming. The door opens only once, but inside looks warm and inviting, with soft lighting and silk notably present.
-
Angus does a quick once around the block, finding a safe place to park his bike. Then he walks back to the entrance. Smiling he mutter under his breath. "doesn't this place look the part." and enters maybe he can grab a bite to eat before the meet up.
-
I'll head in and wait for the rest of the party to arrive . Ill grab a seat and look the place over
-
The interior is classy and low key. Drapes and shoji screens split the single long room into two sections, the fore is set with tables decorated with flowers. Eight tables make up the front, two of which are occupied by middle aged couples engaged in quiet conversation. Two waiters are present, but neither looks eager to great you. A sign tells you to take a seat.
The place is mostly avarage, nothing expensive as far as furniture. You do notice that most of the staff and guests are in surprisingly good physical shape.
-
Arriving, Calico heads inside, scanning the place for indications of who she might be meeting here.
-
Gesturing toward a waiter "Uhh got anything to hold me up? Id rather not fall waiting for the others to arrive.'
-
Approaching the large ... minotaur (Holy hell, a minotaur?), Calico asks "I'm sorry, sir? Are you by chance here to meet a Mr. ... Johnson?"
-
@Angus
One of the waiters comes over and hands you a menu. The chairs should serve, can I get you anything?
-
Terrane turns to Calico "Yeah hes an old friend you here to see him too? he always had good taste except when he doesnt tell you everything." I nod to the server " it better I hate it when they break.""lets see what this is about im thinking shes a shaman i feel the cat about her.
-
Nodding, she sits down across from Terrane. "Yeah, he is kinda forgetful at times, isn't he? Name's Calico." she says, offering her hand while signaling the waiter to bring her a menu. A real meal, hell yes!
-
"so any idea what this is about? i havent heard a sliver of a hint on the job though to me it just makes it more interesting" reaches to shake Calico's handTerrane, pleased to meet you, im a heavy hitter not much else ya needa know...unless ya ask. so whadda bout you? He will order a black tea with lemon and that will be it.
-
Angus looks around as he enters and feels a little self conscious so he removes his helmet. "Always show respect to those around you" the bosses words echo in his head. He takes the menu and thanks the waiter. Angus then notices the sign and seats him self at a table against the wall with plenty of room around it. He sets his helmet on the table and takes off his cello case propping it against the wall to his right. When a waiter comes back, he orders what ever looks the fastest, most filling meal, at a reasonable price. He eyes the restaurant for possible lines of fire and checks the stability of the table. Sometimes a table is all that keeps you alive when things go south. He then waits patiently for his meal and for the contact to show.
-
Damn, Manny works fast. Divillian smiled to himself as he shook the the cold, wet streets of Seattle off of his greatcoat. Stepping out into the alley from the temporary 'home' behind a stuffer shack, he climbs onto his scoot and drives to the meeting spot, digging into his memories from what seemed like a lifetime ago, Do I know this place?
When he arrives, he parks his bike next to the others and takes a moment to look around.
-
Looking around the room, Calico notes that the patrons consist of themselves, two middle aged couples ... and a fomorian. Playing a hunch, she slowly rises from the table. "Hold that thought." she tells Terrane, and walks over to the other, asking once more, "Pardon me, but ... I don't suppose you're here to meet Mr. Johnson?"
-
Terrane nods and leans back to wait ,noting the Fomorian "huh must be more muscle must be a tough gig"
-
Angus looks up and nods "I am... Are you the Johnson? Have a seat" he motions to the other chairs. "Your comrade can come sit too if he likes." He motions for the waiter. "I'll get more appetizers. On me" He smiles back at her. "So, if your the Johnson lets talk terms, if not lets talk about, how we came to be hear. Good to know potential partner"
-
Waving for Terrane to join them and quickly verifying that the waiter notes their relocation, Calico slides into the seat across from Angus. "No, we're.... talent also. I'm Calico and that's Terrane." she said, gesturing towards the approaching minotaur.
"So, you know anything about this gig?" she asked cooly, putting all her effort into projecting an aura of professionalism rather than concern over whether one of them might decide to pitch her through a window.
-
I'll join positioning myself for a good field of fire.“okay do we know anyone else who is supposed to be here or when our mutual friend will be here?" If this has a tight timeframe id rather them hurry up so we can start planning" I'll order another tea and look around keeping an eye out for trouble.
-
I shrug my shoulders. "I didn't even get the name Mr. Johnson. But given that its good for my boss its likely syndicate related" He looks up and to the left then thinking out loud. "Maybe something to do with the triad feud?"
-
triad? Okay well I don't know a damned thing about the triad but i'm game now where is Mr. J?
-
@Div
Street is a bit loud but not crowded, interior as mentioned, the main thing you notice is the two trolls and the tiny human girl. They are either the rest of your team or a worrisome porno waiting to happen.
@all
It's now three minutes past the time of the meet and no sign of mr Johnson.
The tea is above avarage, though with all the cheap soy much is lost on the pallets of a couple shadowrunners. The food menu only has one option for dinner, named simply chef special. I few appetizers such as rice, spring rolls and broth are also available.
-
"Hmm He's late, usually J's aren't late. Terrane slowly starts to coil as if expecting trouble he puts his mask on. He even more intensely watches all areas of potential egress.
-
Seeing Terrane's unease and deciding that a little caution might not be the worst idea in the world, Calico surreptitiously casts a spell to bolster her situational awareness, and then orders the chef's special.
F1 combat sense w/edge
-
Divillian takes a moment to examine his scooter, noticing some dirt he wipes it off, then immediately wipes it onto the nicest looking bike nearby. That's better he laughs to himself as he turns and walks inside, removing his hat and transitioning his glasses out of sunglass mode. When he notices the porno, err, group of nondescript customers enjoying a fine meal together while watching the door like paranoid hawks he comes over holding out his hand, smiling. Hoi Chummers, any word from the master of ceremonies?
-
Rain spattered on the windshield with a steady rhythm off the Gopher's windshield, as Gespenst pulled into the oddly close parking space. Es ist gutes Vorzen A good omen. Gespenst thought to himself as he lit up the cigar he had purchased en-route with it's necessary ignition device. He checked the magazine in his Predator V and ducked out of the truck to stroll across the avenue working his way thorough traffic that slithered along at a snails pace.
Coming to the front of white and red building chased with dragon arrows. He stopped a moment to enjoy the tranquil atmosphere that the owner was trying to create for his customers. He flagged down a passing waitress with a ]"Verzeihen Sie, Fräulein!" his head wreathed in smoke and shadow from the leather hat. Noticing that he was indoors, he quickly took it off his head with his left hand while pulling a 20 ¥ note from his pocket. Could you er... direct me to Herr Johnson? I have a meeting. The pretty elf woman pointed at a table on the far side of the room with a couple rather large trolls seated around it. Gepsenst nodded, ordered an Oolong tea, and left with a "Danke!" [/color]and a 20 ¥ tip.
Gutten Abend!Gespesnt announced himself and sat down the table with the trogs helping himself to some tea cookies.
-
Noticing more coming to join the group Terrane removed his mask and slightly relaxes"so maybe J is waiting to show just when everyone is assembled assuming those two are with us.
-
I nod. "Makes sense" Then I rise for the new comers. "Hello" I motion for any chairs left and grab any that would be needed plus one for Mr. Johnson. "This is looking like quite the group. I haven't introduce myself. Call me Angus."
I will order the special and spring rolls for every one
-
Nodding towards everyone Terrane eats a springroll ok so we have two heavies one magic, one matrix support an I misting anything?
-
There is five of us. I believe you missed Calico or one of the new comers"
-
"nah musta missed a new comer she's the magic I was referring to. Well anyway Ya'll can call me Terrane."
-
"I think i saw you on the message boards a while ago." I look him up and down. "I take it your the other heavy?" .
-
"yeah I was on the boards. Yeah i'm a heavy Iam up close and personal tapping my horns with my knuckles "I use what I got no chrome for this un. So what do we have sorry if I misjudged any of ya."
-
At about this time one of the waiters looking a tad surly, approaches you table, says Mr Johnson will see you now and walks back around the paper partition between the front and back of the tea house.
The back room is, to the untrained eye, roughly the same as the front. Soothing lighting, comfortable seating, a series of hanging lamps and a small water feature. To those who know its almost extravagant. Real wood, cloth mats, the water is clear and almost inviting.
Nestled at the head of the single table is Mr Johnson. He's a vaguely asain elf, so very at home in the setting that he seems to be the centerpiece of a perfect arrangement. He smiles warmly and gestures for everyone to sit as they enter.
-
Terrane bows Slightly upon entering and takes a seat "Pleasure to meet you. So whats the job?"
-
Content to let others speak for the now, Calico quietly sits at the table and waits for the Johnson to begin his spiel.
-
I grab a few more bites, move chairs back to were they were, and pay my bill. Then grabbing my helmet and case, I go in with the others. Upon entering I move to the left of Mr. Johnson and say, "Good to meet you sir. McCogni sent me. My name is Angus." I then sit down, resting my helmet on my lap and the cello case beside me. I fiddle with the the claps on my helmet while maintaining eye contact. I've never like negotiations. I'd rather face a mob of gangers then have a "discussion" with a Johnson. You at least know were you stand with gangers.
-
Johnson nods to each as they enter, he seems to be in no particular hurry to get to the evenings main event.
When all are seated the chef enters and places their orders before them. He's a portly and surly little man with the perpetual scowl of a man who has mastered his craft and deserves respect for it.
Mr Johnson waits for the chef to leave then speaks politely but firmly.
Welcome team, glad your fixers could get a hold of someone on such short notice, they're a credit to their professions as i suspect you will be to yours.
The job is simple, somewhere in this town tonight a shipment of guns and drugs will be delivered to the same place at the same time.
I want you to track down where the shipments will be coming in, hit the location and steal the product, then contact me for a drop off point. I'm willing to pay 8000 for the job.
Any questions?
It's a tad unusual for the Johnson to open with this much info, or to call in a team for a drug bust, but judging by the location he can afford it, and isn't that why your here?
-
Angus thinks of up and coming "shipments" he knows of in the family. he probably doesn't me those. Then he tries to recall any shipments other syndicates are making this could apply to.
-
"How big are the shipments? Could they fit in a van? Trunk of a car? An 18 wheeler?"
-
"I'm game just one question, who are we fragging? Just out of curiosity you understand. Terrane nods toward Div "well i'm thinking our matrix jockeycould trace that pretty quickly."leans back "now time for the face to take over and get us more cred, course that's only one or two fights in the pit but I ought to be able yup hit someone.
-
Divillian sips on his cup of Da Hong Pao tea and savors the flavor. This is quite wonderful. The rest of you should try this sometime. Divillian looks back at Terrane, I'm sure that they can accomplish the task by the time we return with the weapons, but I would not be so quick to dismiss the difficulty and danger of slicing data from what I assume are talented professionals as well. Turning back to the Johnson. 8000 is a fair price, however I have a talent for smelling danger and this job ... has an odor. This is the kind of job people disappear coming home from the stuffershack for being involved in. We're going to need additional funds so we can ensure the job-site has been properly cleaned, and we're going to need those additional funds up front. Divillian maintains a professional tone so the Johnson understands this is a humble request, not a demand.
Divillian takes another sip of tea. This really is quite good.
-
"As a show of good faith ..." Calico adds. "Besides, some of us will need to get some ... specialized equipment for this job."
assisting Div's negotiation roll w/teamwork
-
Mr Johnson nods slowly as Divillian speaks I could up the amount to 9500, with 2500 up front. More then that I cannot promise.
Noting nods of acceptance he pushes on.
As to the other questions, the target is the Yellow Lotus Triads. The exact size of the shipments in unknown, but they are expected to be substantial. I also have the number of a smuggler who might be able to tell you more, as long as your discreet. Anything else?
-
"I think, with the number, we have enough to go on. I have an idea myself but if were going to catch it we best be moving." Angus asks for the number and excepts it. "Every one else good?"
-
I believe we have all that we need. Divillian finishes the last of his tea and thanks our gracious host.
-
Angus thanks the host as well, then stands and says "Alright then shall we?"
-
Terrane will nod "thank you we will get the job done." Then will head out to his bike to await where they are going
-
To Mr johnson, "Sorry sir. but the upfront part of the payment?" Angus puts his helmet under is left arm and picks up the case with the the left arm as well. Looks a little awkward but he wants to leave his other arm free for the money.
-
Sidling up to Angus, Calico whispers "Hey ... can I catch a ride with you? I'm ... between vehicles at the moment"
-
"Sure, if you don't mind hanging on to my back." Upon receiving the money he makes sure every one get there cut. Then heads out to his bike.
@everyone
"We can disuse our plan further at my place find a parking spot and meet me at this intersection. My place is a bit hard to find so ill take you in from their" Makes sure every one has good instructions.
@Calico
"Hear strap this on to your back" Hands her the cello case with his gear in it. "I'm afraid i only have the one helmet and given your not a troll it doesn't fit. So, hang on tight!" He gets on the motor cycle and turns on the engine, then pats whats left of the seat behind him and grabs the handle bars again.
-
Divillian collects the credstick and slides it into a pocket inside his greatcoat. He stands and nods towards the rest of the team, implying they should head outside. On the way to the door, he reattaches his hat and switches his glasses back to sunshades. Once he gets outside he walks to the bikes and leans against the wall, waiting for the rest of the team. As the final member comes out and approaches the group, Divillian asks for the location of Angus's 'worksite' and plugs it into his link. After everyone else leaves, Divillian climbs onto his scooter and heads to the liquor store and purchases a hundred nuyen bottle of aged whiskey to christen his first day back on the job. He slides it into another pocket inside his coat and makes his way to the meet-up as fast as the scooter can go.
-
Trafic is heavier and the rain is starting to pick up as everyone follows Angus' directions. Thankfully parking isn't hard and everyone meets up and gets inside quickly, though not without getting fairly wet from the weather, especially those on bikes.
ooc; @ agleaca, I'll let you describe your place before moving on.
-
Upon meeting up at the intersection Angus lead the team through a series of crisscrossing allies and quads as quickly as possible. He leads them to a small door at the back of a dead end ally. The door leads up a few flights of stairs then down a hallway up a few more flights of stairs ending at a unassuming door with no number. It takes him a few moments to unlock a series of locks and then he lets the others in.
Inside is a spartan apartment. To the left is a window overlooking a quad, underneath a table with gun cleaning supplies neatly organized on it. It smells of oil and gunpowder. To the right of that is a bed neatly made with simple green sheets, large enough for the fomorian. to the right is a small kitchen with a hot plate.
He moves to the right pointing to a door. "there is the jacks if anyone needs to use them."
He opens a door just to the right of that one which would normally be a bedroom. Inside is a table and a few chairs and a dresser. He reaches for the top drawer and pulls out two towels handing them to the team. The table is covered demolitions equipment. He leans against the wall allowing others to sit first. He takes of his helmet and jacket setting them on top of the dresser.
"Welcome to my home. I'm afraid I don't have much. Can I get anyone water?" Than realizes that most of them are soaking wet. "Probably not. Well then, I think I know where the job is, I just need to get a hold of my guy to confirm those suspicions. I would hate to go knock over some other gangs shipment! It is tonight though so we might have to rush to hit it"
-
"thanks, if you know where we are supposed to be why are we.wasting time let's smash grab and get paid. nevermind we need to check and make sure sorry, I get excited for a good fight. during down he nods to everyone. "I can't really help with prep but point me to what needs hit and I will do so.
-
Angus calls McCogni "McCogni this Angus i need to know when and were a Yellow Lotus guns and drug shipment are taking place. I think there's one going down tonight through the caravan. Could you put feelers out to confirm this?"
-
Divillian enters the apartment and takes a look at the armory table. Got a talent with guns eh? Got any long range rifles tucked away? he asks before noticing that Angus is on a call. Divillian heads into the kitchen and looks around for some cups. When he finds them, he pulls out one for everybody. Let me know if that doesn't pan out, he says quietly to Angus, I'll try the smuggler Mr. Johnson recommended. I have a couple thoughts on how we can pull this off, but first we should make sure we know where we're heading and get a good idea of what we're up against.. Divillian pulls the bottle of whiskey out of his coat and uncorks it, breathing in the oak and leather smells. This job brings back some memories. Bladesong had us intercept a truck of captured metahumans in Aztlan. With a bit of magical persuasion, the driver brought the truck to a random spot a few miles off from his original destination. With a bit of physical persuasion, he left the truck behind. Now those people all have jobs in Tir.
Divillian poured a single shot of whiskey into each glass and hands them out to team. Don't drink this yet. Hang on to it until we've confirmed the target.
-
Angus passes Divillian the phone number. Then accepts the glass and lifts it without drinking in thanks.
-
Terrane accepts the glass and sets it down gently."thanks sorry im almost useless when it comes to findin' this for us guys.
-
Divillian slides out his link and places a call to the smuggler contact
-
McCogni picks up on the first ring, listens then answers quickly It'd be a bit off their usual to take the land route. Let me see here... looks like a few shipments moving in, one through the Baskill Apartments, one through the 314 docks and one... by air. Couldn't tell you which one belongs to the yellow lotus though. That's all I got. Nothing on drugs today.
-
"Thank you sir, if you find anything else out, or you have more work let me know. Thank you" He hangs up baring any further information.
@everyone
"I have three different shipments coming tonight." Angus restate the information "The most likely is going to be through the docks. There also might be coming through the Caravan but that ones off the top of my head not my contact. It might be possible to take all four but we might have to split up to do it, and we could end up stirring up the whole city against us if we hit them all. May pick up some good swag though. I say we wait for the smuggler info to narrow it down."
-
"sounds like a good plan. So who is calling the smuggler? i would but people dont like me much"
-
"I gave Divillian the number looks like he's talking to him now. I fully agree with you on moving soon. Given that tonight is the drop we don't have much time." Angus opens up his cello case taking Lilith out and resting her on the table. "Lilith" is a kited out Stoner-Ares M202 with grenade launcher the color of dark dried blood. He then starts placing the demolition supplies into the case. "I don't plan on using these but just in case I'm going to bring them"
-
"well i got two pepppunch a thermal and two teargas grenades in my saddle bags if you want i can divy them up between us the dob P is a damn good non lethal option it just hurts like drek in the eye and may on the off chance take em out of the fight completely"
Motioning out the door "they're in my saddle bags"
-
Picking up a clip for his grenade launcher "Its ok, I have 6x Neuro-Stun VIII mini gas grenades In hear. I guess while we are waiting we should discus whether we want to go non-lethal. We don't want any one knowing we did this. I don't want the triad knocking on my door "
-
"in my opinion i say non lethal...at first syndicates usually don't like it when you steal from them let alone kill some of the 'family'. But killin em would make it so none of us could be recognised, so there is that aspect.
-
"I agree, but if one of them lives to tell the tale then were in trouble. Of course I've been in their place. Just doing their job not bothering nobody. Wanting to get out of the rain then along comes a runner messing up your day even worse." He shakes his head. "Its a shame it so much easier to put them in the ground. At least their bad day wont just beginning, and you could look at it as a couple less criminal on the street"
-
"Well I vote non-lethal, but that just may be because I don't really do lethal. You could wear masks ..." Calico suggested. "As for me, my strategy usually focuses on either not being seen, or not being seen as an enemy."
-
That's fine by me. Its not really my forte but i can sneak around and help were needed, and if it hits the fan then we will be ready for it"
-
@Div
The smuggler picks up and upon hearing why he's been woken up cuts right to the chase
Look, I ran reasonable amount of merch here, I can't tell you who get what, but I can tell you that two orders of any size you'd notice are being brought in: one through a tourists bus, the other through dock 314. Both i just a few hours time. I know you don't know who I am, but even so, you didn't hear it from me.
-
"Sounds like dock 314 is our target." Calico comments after hearing Div's report. "I think we should head there straight away, give the place a good scouting."
-
I think that non-lethal ist nicht zo gut an idea. Gespenst's broken English issues from the dark corner of the apartment for the first time all evening. If diesen Triads are out of comission, then Ich...I will nicht totmachen ihnen...them. Let us hope they stay asleep, eh? He eyes then become distant as he enters AR and starts calling up schematics for dock 314 from the county records office.
-
"Alright then your call. I'll take back up in case it gets hairy. I'll stay out of your way and let you do your work. Div you had an idea how to pull this off. Why don't you take lead on this. Unless anyone else wants to of coarse." Angus looks for any one to step forward. "Just mention if you do." He waits for another moment, then continues. "I'm fine with it being non lethal but if any one of them starts getting away or one of them has to be put down we do them all. I can do it myself if it needs doing. You don't want that on your hands. I understand, but Once blood is shed its not going to be any better for us whether its one or all of theirs that die." He pauses once more to let it sink in. "You and me being safe, that's what I care about, and I'm not putting a triads life above that." After finishing Angus places Lilith back in the cello case and close the lid. Realizing he may have made the mood a little intense he smiles "So, it looks like dock 314 is the pony were betting on. Any chance, you think, there'll be pirates." He seems a little embarrassed he said it.
-
"I think we'll need to have a look at the place before we try coming up with any sort of plan." she offered. "That said, if it looks like combat is our only option, and let's be honest, that's fairly likely, I volunteer to kick things off. I might be able to take a couple out before they realize anything is going on, get them shooting in the wrong direction, stuff like that."
-
"sounds good, and I can charge in once they are distracted.and pounce.I can also be sneaky I can get behind a sentry and put em down silently and if there are any spirits I'll take em on."
-
Angus lift ups his jacket shakes it out a bit and puts it on, grabs his case and helmet and says "Aye, it'll be better to sort this out when we get there." Taping his comlink "We can also discuss plans over our comlinks on the way their." He then opens his front door and ushers the others out. "Time be ticking. Lets hurry so we can take it slow when we get there" He leads them back through the maze of buildings to the intersection they met at. Offering a hand to Calico, "shall we miss" If she excepts they ride off to dock 314, if not he'll go alone. Realizing a potential snag that might come up Angus contacts the others "Any one got a bigger form of transport, or we hoping to steal one? For that matter can anyone drive?"

Taking Angus' hand, Calico smiles and hops onto his bike behind him, gripping him tightly. She'd enjoyed the ride over, the wind whipping her hair crazily as they rode. And while she knew there were no guarantees that he'd be willing to go to any great lengths to protect her, it still made her feel safer riding with this mountain of a man. Why not make him a little more able to protect you, just in case? she thinks with an inward grin, and channels the magical energy required to give him a little jolt of magical amphetamines. Or maybe a big jolt, she hopes with another grin.
Angus' call comes in and he poses the question she'd been trying not to think about. Transporting the goods. She'd asked the Johnson that same question and he'd pointedly ignored her. Was this some kind of test of their resourcefulness? No point worrying about it til you know what there is to worry about, she tells herself, and resolves to savor the ride, worry-free.

"well guys they have to transport it somehow, if we need to i can drive the truck they are using for transport so hit em hard, fast and ill hop in the truck to drive it safely away.
Straddling the scorpion he burns out and heads right on his way.
-
"Good to know. The only problem then is the fact that the truck has to be there. We probably be dealing with two crews of people then, one protecting the shipment out at sea and one picking it up. If we're lucky they'll be unloading a freight container. Just one crew then. To little information at this point but our time line is short. We will just have to be careful, and hope their not already there." As a reflexive action he looks over his shoulder for a moment even though his words would be lost to the wind if not for the comlink. "I don't like the idea of decoys. I've lost to many friends that way. But I'm sure you have some tricks about you volunteering like that. I'll try to keep them from hemming you in. Hopefully it wont come to that though.."
-
Traffic thicken s considerably on the way to Dock 314, looks like lots of semi-trucks are moving heavy freight through this part of town. You are therefore not surprised when, approaching the 314 Dock, you notice many elements of an industrial yard, including a gate for semi-trucks.
The main buildings are four warehouses, each backed up to the waterfront. 314 is on the far right, with 310 on the left. A parking lot fronts all four building, protected from the street by a high storm fence, topped, you all suspect, with razor wire. The parking lot is only lit in front of 314, where three fast looking cars sit idle. All are yellow.
-
Angus sighs audibly driving past the gate " Looks like they heard me, and made sure to get here early... On the plus side, I'm pretty confident we're at the right place." He finds a dark safe place to stash the bike. He uses the image magnification in his helmet to check the cars for personnel and scans the fence for other points of entree. "Do we want to steal their cars or barrow a truck, probably got trackers on the cars is my thinking, Not that the truck wont have trackers but at least it wont be theirs."
@Calico "Think you can get in there?"
He opens up his case and slings Lilith over his shoulder. Lilith whisperers over the com "Memento Mori" Arranging the gear onto his person he somberly replies "Mors Certa, Vita Incerta, I always remember." Finishing unpacking; he closes the case. stands up, attaches the bayonet to Lilith, and returns to surveillance.
-
"I can get in there, give the place a good scouting." Calico says, nodding as she surveys the target area. "Should be fairly risk free too, unless they have magical ... defenses ..." she trails off as she switches to astral, scanning the area for spirits, wards, magically active/dual natured beings, or any other notable astral phenomenon.
-
As he noticed the crew getting ready to exit the apartment, Gespenst grabed his backpack and followed hem out it the damp night. At the end of the labyrinth that constituted Angus's front yard he sent a mental command and disabled the security measures on his 4x4. Konnen Ich ...offer a ride to anyone? As those who decieded to take him up on the offer piled in. He started the truck with a thought and checked the directions against the map of Seattle. That done, he shut down and disabled the GPS. Kein evidence ist am besten. Manual engaged, Gespesnt eased the car into traffic, making sure to obey all traffic laws. I don't want a repeat of Bonn. He thought to himself as he pulled a cigar from the center console and put it into his front pocket, a ritual that was decades old by this point. He checked the rear-view monitor for tails and ran through the programs available on Gretchen while he made his way to the docks. Time to prepare his deck for battle.
-
Divillian follows the group to the docks from a slight distance, watching for anyone tailing the group. "We should wait for them to load the shipment onto it's transport and send it to a destination of our choice. Gespent can fool the pilot software and if he rolls the windows down I can convince the drivers that that is indeed the right address. We hit the guards for the truck as hard we need to, just leave no shells behind."
On the way to the docks, Divillian picks up a bottle of spray cleanser from the neighborhood stuffer shack and throws it into his bag.
"If possible, I'd like to avoid fatal shots. Stealing goods is one thing, that'll attract some minor heat from the Lotus, but not enough for them to send hit squads after us. Eliminating a group of their boys is another story, they may get.. offended by such a manuever and would be ruthless in their pursuit of us. The fewer the bodies, the more leverage we'll have if we have to come face to face with the rest of their gang."
"If we hit the docks themselves, we're going to have to deal with a much larger security team, most likely bound spirits and potent mages, and whatever other defenses they have prepared for such a raid. If we wait for the trucks to leave and hit them with the right combination of stealth, force, magic and charisma, we'll walk away with the treasure and a lot fewer bullet-holes."
Divillian marks an alley way with an ARO a few blocks away from the docks where everyone can hide their bikes and some scouting can be done. As everyone pulls in, he takes a moment to explain. "During my time working against magical threats, I've picked up a few tricks. I can be very convincing when I need to, as long as I can see the person needing convincing. This doesn't mean we won't need your weapons, the trucks are going to have some protection which will need to be neutralized when we ambush them at the destination we choose, if we decide to go this route."
-
"Gespent, " Divillian says slowing his words and speaking clearly to help him understand. "Do you think you can find the specific location and shipment time of the Triad delivery so we don't waste our time stealing a truck full of soy-spam? If you do, see if you can ready your system to control the delivery trucks. Even if we decide to hit the docks, we don't want them pulling out while we're fighting the soldiers."
Divillian looks towards Calico, How's your 'combat' training, and I don't mean with guns. I'm a bit rusty myself.
Divillian looks towards Angus, "What do you think of that idea Angus? If we have an ambush site set up in the barrens in a spot we control, you'll have time to put together an IED or two to disable any escorts the truck may have. We'll be able to control the area of engagement."
-
"My combat tactics tend to focus around misdirection, but I can put a guy down if I need to." she replies to Divillian. "But I like this plan of hitting a truck instead of the docks here. That way we'd control where it happens. But we should be primed and ready with a backup plan for if they notice Das Hacker's efforts."
-
Terrane nodding his head"im all for non-lethal force I can do either very easily either way i have stick and shock for my pistol. Also im not sneaky in the least but i notice things He shrugs "so subtly isn't my strong suit chummers.
-
"I like the plan, its simple with the least amount of contact."He pauses to think about his part. "The only problem I see is the vehicles, and i don't think we should use explosive. If I do were opening this up to higher scrutiny from the cops. Also there's collateral damage to consider, infrastructure and lives. I have 4 cans of rating 10 foam explosive. It doesn't sound like much but if used right could probably level one of those buildings. We might accomplish the same effect with two semis and an ally. Wait for our truck to pass and them ram one into the lead vehicle and trap the rest by capping off the other end. It gets tricky if a vehicle is in front of the the truck, and we would need get away vehicles for the drivers."
He pauses and thinks about it more. "We probably could do that hear though. Steal the truck and use something else to trap them inside the yard. Then run away while they work it out. I could steal a truck to place in front of the gate and then blow the cab insuring it never drives again. If your dead set about driving into the barrens though I could do one last thing, but you probably wont like it. Right now if nobody is in the cars I could slip up to them and spray the foam up under their carriages by a tire, or hell the gas tank. Then when we steel the truck I detonate the cars rendering them useless or we let them chase. In transit I can blow the charges bring them to an immediate and most likely lethal stop. The problem is each can of explosive cost a grand, and it will most likely kill some of the triads."
"Unlike Terrane here, I'm afraid I have no non-lethal solution. Nuero-stun is as close as I come and it would likely kill them. I could probably get in there without them noticing. If that's of any use."
-
"As much as I like the idea of routing the truck to an ambush site of our choosing, it occurs to me that while Divillian might be able to convince the driver to take the load to a new spot, what about his escorts? And how do we know that it's all going to be on the same truck? Also, an ambush requires us to be at the ambush site in advance, which makes Gespent's hack job a make-or-break thing, since we'll be elsewhere and therefore unable to stop them from leaving if the hack fails.
If anybody has good answers for these, then I like the reroute and ambush plan. Otherwise, I think we should do it here.
-
"I'm mostly interested in taking the delivery truck as is, since none of us have a vehicle capable of hauling how-ever-many pounds of goods it's going to be carrying. The demolitions was just a thought on how we could potentially eliminate the escorts without a full-on firefight. I see what you're saying Calico, before we take another step, we need to know what Herr Gespent can find inside pertaining to the upcoming delivery. Than we can finalize our plan of attack. Personally, I don't feel like getting shot trying to storm a castle when all we need are the horses in the stable.
-
Calico nods to Divillian. "Agreed." She then finds a comfortable place to sit, knowing that they might be waiting a good while for Gespent's report. She decides to pass the time by once more scanning the target area for astral points of interest.
-
"I agree that we need a truck, and the easiest is theirs. We will need to disable any type of tracker in it as well, other wise they'll follow it straight to Mr. Johnson. We are surrounded by other trucks however so that's not as big a concern to me as the triads walking around in there right now. heck they might be loading a truck inside as we speak. Can't be certain until we get eyes on. I wonder if the boats even here yet?"
-
Pointing towards the sports cars"do you think they are running three separate vehicles to make this much harder? I mean they look fast so if someone were to want to steal them they have more chances to get away quickly. I know my scorpion won't keep up.just my thoughts."shrugging slightly
-
"Its possible they would want to use the cars and their just waiting on the boat to load them up."
-
"How about we have someone go sneak up do a few drops of the foam explosive on the wheels as insurance."
-
Angus nods "Your right we should take this time to learn as much as we can" He loads a magazine into Lilith and a clip of Neuro-Stun Into the grenade launcher. "Calico see if you can find a way in and have a peak on the inside. I'll try" He visibly shudders a little"to get up on the roof to see if there are any ways in from there." Angus moves forward staying in the shadows and waiting for any moments to enter unseen. Once in he moves to the outside wall of the ware house, put on his climbing gloves, fires his grappling hook at anything that looks like it will hold his weight. He then climbs up to the roof and looks for any sky lights to peer down through. Barring that he examines the water access for possible routes of entree.
-
Your Decker comes out of VR and informs you that the area is light on recording equipment, the only cameras being external and routing to a terminal inside. Three silent commlinks were found, but their might be more. One was the person setting up the deal, his last messages indicated that two boats are on their way. Eta, three to five minutes for the first one, second unclear.
-
Time to have a little peek, she thinks. Walking over to Divillian, she begins taking off her fanny pack, zipping her bracelet inside after taking over the spell it was sustaining and handing it to him. "Grab my clothes, will ya?" she asks, a smile her only response to his confused look as she gathers the magical energy required to change into a sparrow, and shifts, climbing carefully out of the puddle of clothes that covers her after her transformation.
Taking flight, she first glides closer to the three sports cars, checking to see if they are occupied, and listening to get the gist of the conversation if they are. Then, she circles the warehouse, looking for open windows, skylights, or any other openings more than a couple inches wide.
F5 shapechange
-
The cars are still impenetrable to sight, their tinted windows closed tight and engines off. The two guards converse idly about women and seem at ease.
The building itself backs up to the water completely, a pair of ramps extend into the water where boats can be hauled into dock, and flying up one of them might yield entry into the building proper. You also note three feet of clearance between ground level and the water below, supported by a series of aging struts that, if caution were used, might support a Metahuman. Otherwise the structure is sealed against the cold and damp.
-
She glides out over the water, shifting to astral perception and flying by (perpendicular to) where she imagines the entry should be. Quickly scanning for mages, spirits, wards, or anything else astrally notable as she flits by the entryway, she then ...
[finding no threats] circles around and flies into and up inside the building, seeking a high perch inside.
[seeing anything which might risk exposing her] circles around for one more pass to assess the situation with normal vision, then streaks back to the group to report her findings.
-
Assensing reveals a water spirit resting a ways out from the building, he isn's paying much mind to you.
Inside you note five men with smgs talking and playing AR cards inside the warehouse. Theirs also a small internal office with tinted windows, so your unable to see if anyone is there. Two moving trucks are backed up to the two dry dock ramps.
Your able to perch on the exposed steel beams that support the high ceiling.
-
So many possibilities… she thought to herself with a smile, but this isn't a solo job. Better go ahead and report back. Besides, 2 to 1 there's a mage behind that tinted door, so it's a good thing I do have back up this time. She glided back out and around the building, back to the group.
She was talking the moment her mouth was formed enough to make words, quickly stepping into her chameleon suit and zipping up, then putting her bracelet back on and letting it take over sustaining this spell she'd cast on Angus earlier . "Five guys with submachineguns inside, probably a few more in the office, I couldn't see. Got a water spirit out back guarding the rear entrance. There's two moving trucks and they're backed up to the dry dock ramps, they'll be the ones hauling the cargo."
-
"so do we wait til they load em and hit em hard then drive away?" nodding towards the sport cars"so do we incapacitate those so its harder to catch us? or do we lay an ambush. We dont know where they are going so a good ambush point might be hard to find" Then he takes out his Ruger and makes sure its loaded with sns round along with three speed loaders, with one loader having flechette.
-
Angus returns to the group. "I didn't find any thing." Upon getting the update of the situation he grimaces. "Doesn't sound good. Two trucks makes it more difficult to hijack the shipment. Plus the two boats arriving at separate times means we have to worry about this group alerting the trail vehicle. But we could miss the first vehicle if we wait for the second boat. We could try to hijack the first truck like planed and leave an assault team to take the second drop."
-
" I don't like the idea of splitting up the group. But you're right, these guys alerting anyone else is our most immediate concern. Which means I think our first priority should be disabling their comms. Unless anyone has a jammer, sounds like that should be a job for our decker. I'm thinking we should focus on the guys outside the building first, allowing the rest of us to get into position inside the gate while he continues disabling the rest."
-
"I could knock em out with my fist but I'm pretty sure they'd notice me. i have Stick n Shock but i doubt its subtle enough, no silencer. if some one can cast a spell to take em both out at once probably would be our best bet. My thinking is we hit em as soon as the first truck is loaded take em out quickly so they can't call out an sos then when the second delivery gets there take out that crew load up and roll out."
-
"Makes sense. Calico, Divilian either of you think you could knock out the two guards? Gespenst think you can handle the coms?... I could pop a grenade in-front of them its a little more subtle, but it takes time to work so they could still alert those inside. Are we still trying to keep this non-lethal?"
-
Gespenst agrees to block comms as best he can.
-
"Alright, well let's do this then, the first boat will be here any minute. Here's my suggested plan: Gespenst kills the comms of the two door guards, and also reports on whether there are any comm icons in those 3 sports cars, maybe running silent, taking them out as well. Div and I each 'convince' one of the door guards that it's time to open the gate. Once they do, everybody hits them hard, taking them out as quickly as possible. I can put up a sound barrier around them, so anybody not using silencers should make sure they are inside the spell radius before blasting. Once they're down we'll take up positions inside the gate and briefly reconvene before continuing. Sound good?"
-
"im cool with it if you want I'll gore em and if I spark it should slow there reaction time, or if we are going nonlethal I'll blast em with my ruger, ready break.
-
Calico watches Gespenst for confirmation that he's disabled the comms, or for signs that he's inadvertently alerted them. Periodically she cuts her eyes over to Divillian, making sure he is also okay with the plan, and ready to cast simultaneously with her.
-
"Sounds good. What is the radius of the spell? Just so I know were to start shooting. Also, I don't know if this matters, but be careful to not over lap the inside area. I'm sure they would notice if their card game got silenced. I'm not going try to pull my shots if that's OK with every one. I just think there's too many variables to go non-lethal."
-
"Actually, they wouldn't notice anything. It's a sound barrier, not a silence spell. But I doubt it would overlap anyway… I'm only going to cast once they've walked over to the gate and opened it, and anyway the radius will only be like 5m"
-
Gespenst sends all a text message informing them that he has the two doormen's comms and will brick them ASAP. Also, the first boat is arriving in just under a minute. Just picked it up on the water, no sign of the second.
-
"Better get them away from that door, then. Divillian, you ready to get all persuasive? On my mark? 3 ... 2 ... 1 ..."
-
Upon hearing this Angus readies his weapon and sneaks into a position were he can easily walk 4 meters from the gate.
-
"well when you launch the spell tell me I give em a shock!raps on his horns "but know when I attack I can't be subtle
-
"We don't need subtle, just quiet. But NOT until they've opened the gate."
-
"alright but im raring ta go Chum i need a good rumble."
-
Calico quickly casts a sound barrier centered on the two guards near the opening gate, then immediately begins staggering drunkenly towards them, taking an indirect route so their gaze won't fall on her companions in the background when they look at her. "Heeey ..." she slurs once inside the spell's radius, smiling invitingly. "I can't fin' my caaaar .... oh wow, are those YOUR cars??" she asks airily pointing at the 3 sports cars, then stumbles clumsily, staggering towards the nearest guard. "Oh shit, I'm so wasted!" she announces as she passes them, spinning back around to face them, striking a suggestive and slightly unsteady pose. "So could one of you take me home? Pleeeease??"
F5 sound barrier, 17 dice
-
The one who opened the gate smiles and blatantly checks Calico out until his friend says something quietly and goes for his comm-link. As the second guy brings up his link it sputters and makes an audible 'pop' before imiting a black acrid smoke.
Everyone roll initiative.
-
Angus steps out of the shadows with Lilith ready and walks into to silence bubble. He raises her a little more at the guards who kept his wits about him, and fires 6 round into his face.
-
As the second guard drops, Calico grins broadly and drops her sound barrier spell. "You didn't leave any for ME to play with. Didn't your mothers ever teach you to share your toys?" she asks the group with mock indignation, then returns to business. "Let's take care of those cars before we move on. For all we know, there could be people inside them. Somebody with a blade, disable the holy hell out of those tires, all 12. Div, keep an eye out for astral ... stuff. Gespenst, how's about you unlock these car doors real quick and then give us a little matrix scouting of what's inside this building? Alarms, commlinks, locks, killer sprinkler systems that spray napalm, whatever you can find. If anybody's got issues speak up, otherwise let's be quick here. Clock's ticking."
-
"Sorry miss," Angus gives her a rye smile, "but in truth you did get to mess with them a little." He lets Lilith hang loss on her sling while he grabs the two bodies and starts to drag them to a hiding place. He stops and looks back at the group "best to hide them first. I can take care of the tires." He looks down at his load, "whats the word on the breather." Lilith chimes in over the comm-link, "Let them wake or seal their fate" Angus shrugs, "They got an eye full of you calico so its your call. Your most at risk." He finishes moving the guards behind a dumpster finds a pallet and some other refuse to put on top of them. Then rejoins the group. "They'll probably hold for now, just think about it." He then moves to the cars with Lilith ready. Then slashes the tires with his bayonet. If he has time he'll also cut a few of the hoses around each tire wheel he guess might be the brake lines. While he goes about that business he talks over the comm-link, "As I see it, given the way you described the group inside, we could breach the door and fire a gas grenade right in the middle of em while their still at the table. Might not take them all out but will give us a good starting point to engage them."
-
"Heh i figured that would hurt but just out cold he's made of sturdier stuff than i thought. I did that to a troll once and killed 'im course i got a better hit in. Helps Angus drag the bodies behind the dumpster. "So sorry we took em out before you could play more darlin'. But im sure there will be enough fun on the menu tonight and maybe later too." winking at Callie "Now do we try to wait til both shipments arrive or take our chances taking one at a time, I dunno how these chummers operate so your call Beautiful"
-
"Well I've never been one for offing unconscious people, and I'm not about to start now. As for the plan from here, let's wait until Gespenst has scouted the building via the matrix before deciding what's next. Unless of course you'd rather just kick the door in ....
Hey Div, can you stick your astral head inside these cars real quick? I just want to make sure there's no one inside before continuing."
-
A strong of German pours over the comm Ich habe die Autos überprüft , sieht aus wie alles ist, verdammt , Übersetzer engagieren, as I was saying, we appear to be clear on the vehicles, boat is still a ways out.
A moment later Div confirms Nothing in the cars that should worry us
-
"Ok, I say we wait until both shipments are here before we strike. That will also give Gespenst time to report back on what he finds in the building, matrix-wise."
-
"You sure? Now that we've taken out the front guards, they may try to communicate with them and find out the game is up. Plus if they are all around a table right now I could take most of them out with one grenade. Its just a matter of opening the door and shooting into the card game. If they are unloading the shipments then there will be more people inside and they will be dispersed throughout the building. The only risk I see with doing it now is alerting the boats. could you cast an actual silence spell so they cant communicate at all."
-
"These are good points. Combat WILL be easier if we go now. Problem is, if either shipment gets warmed off, they will simply go somewhere else, and we will have no way to stop them. My silence spell also works on comms, but the problem will be getting everyone in the building inside them and keeping them there. And anyway, for all we know the main purpose of that water spirit I told you about is to haul ass and warn the others if there are problems.
I don't like it either, but unless you have a way to guarantee both boats will come here, I think we have to wait
-
"Valid point, alright we wait." Angus wonders back after slashing the tires leans down and picks up his bullet casings and puts them in his pocket.
He then moves back to the cars and takes up a good defensive position behind them so he can engage anyone easily if they exit the building.
-
Gespenst informs you as tires drain quietly that six comm-links inside are all marked, and one belongs to a Triad Lieutenant with a bounty on his head. Also the boat is practically here, and all the guards have quit playing poker.
-
"What about cameras?" Calico asks Gespenst. "Are there any of those in there you could access?"
-
Zhe aar, Fruiline, a first viewing zhe water, and a second... (An image of the two dry-dock stations pops up on everyone's HUD, but the other Mobsters are out of camera) here. Neizer is recording, so I suspect they are being watched."
-
"right on" Terrane will duck behind some cover and try to hide

-
"Let's see how long we can continue to take these guys out one or two at a time .... " Calico says with a mischievous grin as she rifles through her small pack and pops a dose of psyche. "Time for a few preparations."
Casting in quick succession, she begins with an armor spell for herself, making sure to give it that extra bit of oomph she is sometimes able to muster. She follows with another sound barrier, placed so that it encompasses the hidden group, as well as a point that lies between the door to the building and the three parked and disabled sports cars. Finally, she casts a phantasm spell depicting the two downed guards standing at the opened trunk of one of the sports cars. There is a faint but clearly visible light coming out of the trunk, and the two guards are peering down at it in amazement, looking up and gesturing urgently for any emerging guards to come and see for themselves.
"Wait until they're in the spell's radius before engaging" she intones, her former playful demeanor now replaced by one of cold calculation.

The armor springs up around you, emitting a glow and pulsing silently with magical energy. You confident this could stop a lot of rounds.
Holding it, however, is a tad distracting and (Unless you want to edge this) the sound barrier comes out pretty weak.
Fortunately it might not matter as you easily place a convincing Phantasm as intended, you might have even been able to manage more detail, but you'd already cemented the image before starting.
Your also able to dissipate the extra mana from these spells without incident and avoid the headaches spell-casting can cause.
The next minutes passes silently but for the distant sounds of the docks and ships. The feed inside shows the first boat pull in, tow humans a dwarf and a troll disembark and unload a crate. It's broken open on the spot and the security goons each pull out an HK Urban Combat and examine them closely before two start emptying their clips out over the water. The weapons are silenced, but barely audible against the quiet. Nods and credits are exchanged and the troll begins taking apart the boat's hull, revealing the other crates and handing them off to be loaded..
As the second box comes free and heads towards the moving van Gespenst informs all that the second boat just got clearance from the Lieutenant and is probably no more then a minute out.
-
"See if you can text one of those guys a 'Hey you need to see this' from one of the downed guards ..." Calico suggests to Gespenst.
-
Nicht gut, I broke zeir links during our attack, though perhaps... I might spoof something, shall I do zhis now?"
-
"Unless the risk is unacceptably high, yes. Make it sound important but not dangerous. Also, mark those trucks in case you need to take control of them quickly." Calico is all business now.
-
A few moments pass in silence before the door opens and one of the guards walks out. You can hear the boat pulling in as he he sees the two illusions by the car, then casts around the parking lot and swears as a catches sight of Tarrane.
Everyone post initiative in the ooc thread.
-
Angus lunges out of the shadows and sprays rounds into the mans chest, his look of surprise and priceless as he topples over backwards from the repeated impacts. As he tries to sit up and asses the situation, Tarrane hustles up, grabs his collar, and headbutts him back into the cement.
The shots ring our across the yard, barely impeded by the barrier, even had they been the man fell in the doorway and Tarrane, standing over him, is in clear view of the men inside.
-
Knowing that the remaining guards haven't yet seen evidence of magical mischief, Calico moves quickly to the doorway, dropping the phantasm (if it's a free action) along the way. Using the doorway as cover, she casts an illusion which manifests 3 trolls dressed in heavy battle armor, who step into view from where they'd apparently been hiding behind the trucks. They will proceed to approach the cargo in the truck, each grabbing a crate under each arm and heading towards the exit. If fired upon, the bullets apparently richochet harmlessly off the thick armor with a spark and an audible tink.

-
A feeling of dread cascades over everyone. Your vision begins to narrow and you all feel a hint of panic as the fighting gets more intense.
-
Angus rushes to the door. Looking out along Lilith he barely sees the second boat trying to turn around. He aims a bit higher and feels the chug of the weapon hit his shoulder as the gas grenade fly out through the warehouse and over the water. As he heard the glass of the boats cabin shatter he thanked lady luck for assistance, and smiled as the captains curses came back to the group.
-
"Guys, we need some grenades in there pronto!"
-
Bullet's rain through the air, yet the battle maintains it's bizarre quite as all are suppressed. Angus catches at least a dozen rounds as he goes for cover but with an armored arm cover Lilith and his face the many rounds bounce harmlessly away.
The boat is getting closer, however, and it's clear now that the Water spirit seen before is propelling it forward, despite the best efforts of the crew.
-
A panther spirit seems almost happy to join you, slinking through realities with poise and confidence.
-
At this point the team has assaulted a warehouse by the water, taken out the perimiter guards and is locked in battle with Mob Soldiers inside. One is on his ass, one is dead on Tarranes horns, the other three are all grouped together on the right side of the warehouse. Next to them is an office with a window from which a hostile mage has been wreaking havoc.
Calico, Div and Gespenst are at the door. Tarrane is inside surrounded by mob goons and Angus is in cover on the left side of the warehouse.
Also a boat full of drugs will be thrown into the dry-dock setup any second now.
The warehouse itself isn't large, but houses two moving vans and two dry dock setups to keep boats out of sight on land while they are unloaded.
-
Moving out of view of the Mage, Angus darts over and rolls under the window that the mage is behind, coming up on a knee and turning to the goons and letting Lilith give them a piece of her mind. They dance around, bullets hitting around them, but Angus can't shake the feeling that he's under imminent threat and the distraction spoils his aim.
Looking up, he sees a small ball of lightning arc out over his head towards the doorway and to Calico, Divilian, and Gespenst.
Division's eyes widen and he rolls inside, taking cover behind a box. Gespenst disappears out the door, and Calico grits her teeth as the electricity expands at her location. Her hair stands on end and her expression is one of pain, but when the blast settles, she still stands, a look of anger spreading across her features.
-
Dancing out of the way of a few stray bullets from Lilith, Terrance throws a withering glance towards Angus, before pulling out his Ruger Super Warhawk and pulling the trigger. The brains of the man in front of him spray out across the floor as he falls to the ground.
The two Chinese men take panicked aim at Terrane and squeeze off their triggers, spraying him, bullets ricocheting off of his heavy armor. The minotaur grunts in pain, but does not seem seriously injured.
-
Geek that fraggin' mage, Calico instructed her newly summoned panther spirit telepathically. She felt a pang of guilt at sending the relatively weak spirit to a fight it couldn't win, but she pushed the thought out of her mind as the brave little thing acknowledged its objective in her mind. She had bigger fish to fry, she thought, her face contorting in anger and determination. That electricity had hurt. This mage was getting on her last nerve. Time to put him down. She made a B-line for where he was camped.
-
Div leaned back from the entrance as lead and magic preforated the air he was standing in a moment ago. frag...frag...Frag...FRAG...FRAAGG he shouted to himself as he pressed against the building. Seeing Terrane standing there lobbing shots off gave him an idea. Keep em distracted bud... An old elven phrase and a push of mana brought a subtle, hidden magical field around Terrane, pushing some of the incoming rounds into the area around the minotaur.
There has to be another way in. Somewhere I can get line of sight from out of sight. "Gespent, any nearby entrances that aren't bleeding goons? I'll take whatever you can get me." he whispered into the micro-transceiver.
-
Crouched under the window Angus drops is mini grenade magazine. "20 shots left" Lilith chimes in as he raises her sighting in on the goon. "Enough for this guy" he thinks as he lets loose a barrage. The goon hears the shoots to late and frantically dives out of the way to the dismay of his comrade whom he jumped into as the bullets find there mark. The now corps drags his friend down with him.
-
As Angus smiles from his successful hit, a window smash as a rush of water floods into the room from the water side of the building. It splashes onto the floor and almost instantly takes a humanoid shape. An 'arm' extends and water shoots out to Terrane and splashes all over him, solidifying instantly into ice.
Terrane suddenly finds himself fully encased, his expression one of impotent rage.
Taking advantage of the respite, one of the Triad soldiers notes Calico dashing through the warehouse and shoots in her direction, spraying bullets through the air. Most miss, but one of them thumps into her leg. The other Triad pushes his dead companion off of him and rises, turning towards Angus even as he ducks behind a large box.
<<@..?? (Gespenst) I find zis, door ist in back, on uh-zeir side!>>
-
Angus sees the goons fire at calico and roars with rage. As he feels Lilith chug with his released emotions a grins spreads a crossed his face as crimson rises from his target. "geek the mage first but never forget about the troll with the machine-gun!"
-
As if in response, the Water Spirit turns towards the Angus and unleashes a torrent of slushy water at him. The water blasts into the Fomorian, knocking him back a step. The large metahuman manages to keep his feet, but his attention has turned from the goons to this newest threat.
Above him can be heard the sounds of something banging and then a blast and furniture being knocked around. Whatever it is, it's keeping that mage occupied, which is good.
In the center of the room, Terrane flexes hard and ice shatters and sprays all around him as he breaks free from the encasement.
-
Anger wells up inside Angus at the water elemental attack on him. He swings Lilith at his enemy and lets loss a barrage pf bullets. Every bullet is matched with a little splash of water but the spirit is unfazed. Angus grip tightens around Lilith displeased with the results.
-
As the bullets slap into the Water Elemental, Terrane charges it, swinging his heavy fist. The spirit flows sideways, easily avoiding the attack before slamming a heavy fist onto his back. The Minotaur is slammed heavily into the ground. If something isn't done, it is apparent that this hefty spirit is going to put an end to several Shadow-careers.
Gespenst leans in and fires a few rounds at the remaining Triad soldier, forcing the man to duck behind several crates.
-
Realizing that the Spirit is the greatest threat and seeing that it is very powerful, Calico steps out and leverages one of the few offensive spells she has. Putting her all into the spell, she goes to a knee as mystical forces tear through her body to fuel the magic. She looks up to see that the Spirit has been greatly diminished but not removed completely as she had hoped. But perhaps in its weakened state someone else will be able to finish it off...
-
Seeing the spirit take damage, Divillian stepped back from the wall and concentrated his will. The threads of mana which bound the spirit to its mage were thin and with barely any strain, he plucked them apart, allowing the spirit to return to its home.
-
Seeing that the Water Spirit has dematerialized, Calico ducks back behind a crate. Switching to astral perception and seeing that the spirit has departed completely, she breathes a sigh of relief and slumps down next to the crate.
-
Angus rages silently at the sight of his vanishing before he could dispatch the spirit. When out of the corner of his eye he sees the movement of the last goon trying to escape. He swings Lilith over and she sings her favorite dirge. Six bullets leave her barrel and six hit there target. Blood splatters the door as the goon slips down to the ground. Angus smiles feeling his vengeance was a little sated.
-
As the noise in the warehouse dies down, a faint door slam can be heard and then... silence. Utter silence.
It appears as though all of their enemies are subdued or... in the case of the mage, escaped.
Better get moving with the clean up before he brings friends.
-
"Anybody got a first aid kit? We need to heal up, but FAST. Anybody not healing or being healed needs to get these trucks ready to MOVE. Div, what say you whip up a little spirit to hopefully find and keep tabs on that escaped mage? Let's go people, we've got MAYBE minutes before more company arrives.". Calico prepares to cast a heal spell the moment the designated first aider has finished with their patient.
-
I do not. One moment, there's something I need to take care of. Divillian sat back against the metal wall and closed his eyes. About a minute later, his eyes open and he stands up. Hopefully, that should buy us some time before reinforcements arrive.
-
"Yes, I can patch folks up," Gespenst announces, and he proceeds to apply bandages, which stop the bleeding but don't seem to provide any comfort beyond that.
-
Fuckin amateurs. Calico thought as she followed behind Gespenst, applying magical healing to the wounded group members. His efforts had provided minimal improvement at best. I guess not everybody has had the opportunity to learn from an expert like Hank ... anyway, no time to dwell on that now. Having improved the wounded's various statuses considerably, she stood and took stock of the situation. Div had apparently done something astrally to buy them some time, but something told her that dicking around at the scene of the crime was still a very bad idea. Tick Tock, Callie. Tick fucking tock.
-
Once everyone is healed up, Gespenst calls out. "Looks like one truck izt loaded. One more izt waiting for loading from this boat."
With Terrane and Angus up and moving, it looks like it shouldn't take long to load the boat up and get everything moving out of the place.
-
"I'm gonna keep watch outside. I'll jump in with somebody as you roll out. Let's keep an open comm channel." She moves stealthily outside, finding a spot with good concealment that gives a good vantage of all avenues of approach.

-
It only takes about 15 minutes to get the second truck loaded.
-
Upon hearing that the trucks are loaded, Calico creeps back inside. "Looks clear so far. Let's get the hell outta here before that changes." She quickly hops in the truck that Terrane's driving, watching as Div and Angus squeeze in with Gespenst. A troll and a mage in each, she noted with satisfaction.
-
The group rolls out, Gespenst setting a route and attempting to hack where he can to blackout their escape.
Civilian calls up Mr. Johnson, who instructs them to meet him at a warehouse near the teahouse where he offered them a job. The group manages to arrive without incident.
Mr.Johnson is there to greet them, a slick suit and stylish hair marking the business man.
"No undue difficulty, I hope," he asks, obviously not giving a drake whether there was or was not. He nods to a few other Chinese men who examine the goods in the truck. After several moments, one gives a thumbs up and he smiles.
"All is in order. Your pay is due."
Sometimes you worry about betrayal or some other last minute complication like they show in all of the trips, but not today. Today you get paid. With the up front payment, that's 9,500¥, which isn't shabby. Maybe worth getting tossed about by a giant water monster.
With that, some of the group might have exchanged commcodes, but others move on their merry way, melting back into the shadows from whence they came.
-
Divillian is happy to hand his commcode over to the group. If you need an extra pair of eyes, hands and a touch of magic, give me a ring. He then takes payout downtown and starts looking for a new place to call home, other than the meditation mat behind the stuffer shack he's 'staying at' now.
-
"If you're headed to find a new place, mind if I join? I could use one myself. My current housing situation is… not ideal." Calico says to Divillian, unable to suppress her natural flirtatiousness.
