Title: Social Adept
Post by: zeththeadeptork on <06-09-15/2249:54>
I made a Social Adept that i want to be able to have some "pets" i Spent SP on animal handling and animal empathy, also the pp on the power to let me affect animals my only issue is i dont know how much Basilisk, Barghest, or Hellhound's cost monetarily. I'm willing to spend the in game time training to use them on missions just dont know how to buy them.

How about storing and caring for them too??

The rules have always been a bit loose on these animals.

Acid saliva
Fire breath
Paralyic voices
Dermal calicification

Not sure you can keep these 'pets' in a condo or appartment, if you know what I mean :P

Really wish they would do an update of Running Wild and their rules for biodrones/paracritters :(

But, at least you got that for a starting point for use in a home game. As for missions.... not sure if you CAN own paracritters there. Best to throw a shout out to Bull and ask him. He might have something up his sleeve that can help you.

Oh god... anyone ever see the assorted Animal Planet shows of people keeping dangerous animals in their homes and horrible things happening to them?  I never thought of that for Paracritters until just now...

The Talis cats... oh the Talis cats...

Barghest 15R 11,000¥ High/500¥
Hell Hound 15R 10,000¥ High/500¥
Basilisk 14R 40,000¥ Middle/200¥

Hope you have a High lifestyle and enough to keep them fed.
A breeder or trainer contact can help with your search and may provide a discount.

Specialized breeders and trainers (corporate or independent)
sell rarer critters. These may be sold highly trained. They may also
sell purebreds and fertile critters. Purchasing a fertile critter, when
possible, increases the base price by 50 percent or more, depending
upon the critter.
Licenses cost 10 percent of the base (untrained) cost for
legal critters and 20 percent for restricted critters. Licenses must
be renewed annually. Forbidden critters cannot be licensed for
private ownership. Critters that are cat-sized and larger require
licenses, as will all Paranormals. Fake licenses can be procured
(Fake License, p. 332, SR4A).

good thing i was leaning towards Basilisks :P i was thinking mates. Keeping them in a garage modded to hold them and a bulldog also modded to move them trained so i can direct them in combat. so awesome!

Outbuildings +1/+2
Your home has one or more outbuildings. At the first level,
this may be a small aviary, dog kennel, or small animal house.
At the second level, it may be a multi-stall barn, large kennel, or
even indoor riding arena.
Reinforced Housing +1/+3
Your home and furnishings have been designed to withstand
the destructive forces of animals and small children. From
sealed tile floors to heavy fireproofing on the walls and ceilings,
your home can survive the worst a pet can dish out. Your home
may also have enhanced soundproofing, so your neighbors aren’t
bothered by the various vocal performances of your pets. If taken
in combination with Outbuildings, the outbuildings share the
same reinforced construction. At 1 LP, this quality is suitable
for normal animals and less dangerous Paranormals. At 3 LP, this
quality is suitable for more dangerous Paranormals, augmented
critters, or technocritters, and it includes measures designed for a
particular animal (soundproofing for barghests, fireproofing for
hell hounds, appliances with increased firewalls for technocritters,
etc.).

I'm convinced that Basilisk require the Animal Lover Level 3 lifestyle quality.
Cost is 3.
