I see the blurb mentions nanotechnology available, given the current situation just how big is the section on nanotechnology please?

Fiction and in-character JackPoint banter about nanotech and genetech starts on page 130 and goes on until page 145 where actual nanotech rules start. Rules go on until page 155, where genetech rules start.
There's some pretty sweet things in there, particularly for riggers and deckers. If you were to start the game with Intuition and Logic of 5, you could boost both to 6 with bioware (Cerebral Booster 1 for 31,500„ and Cerebellum Booster 1 for 50,000„, total of 81,500). During the game you could then add a set of rating 2 limbic and neocortical neural amplifiers (soft nanite systems which gives +1 dice pools to intuition and logic based skills per rating, respectively, for 7,500 per rating, for a total of 30,000„). In order for these systems to not degrade you'd need a rating 2 nanohive for each (10,000„ per rating times two for a total of 40,000„).
For 151,500„ and a mere 1.2 Essence (standard grade) you'd get +1 to both Logic and Intuition, +2 dice pool to all skills linked to Logic and Intuition (and a Mental limit increase for the same), and the ability to get an additional +1 dice pool if you'd be willing to run the nanohives wirelessly. That's a significant boost for a decker whose skills are already 6 or higher, since raising each hacking skill by 1 would cost you (6*14=84) karma, the equivalent of 168,000„. The nanohives and neural amplifiers alone would only run you 70,000„, in return for +2 dice to as many as 26 skills, not counting knowledge and language skills.

Hmmm so it sounds fairly extensive I thought nanotech was largely quarantined in this version interesting. Thanks for the detailed reply.

It largely still is, although "super sterile" nanotech is making its way back to the market.

Now the question is:
"Are those nanotech really safe??" - you ARE most likely dealing with a street doc after all

Street Docs can't do that level of Augmentation. I don't know why they ditched the Advanced Medical Rules from 4th... those were solid. There are 3 clinics that can do Nanoware in Seattle, the same 3 clinics that can do Beta Grade augmentations. There are 2 Elite Private Clinics (I can't remember their names but they are mentioned in Chromed Flesh.) & obviously 1 Elite Shadow Clinic whose name is not given.
If those clinics are willing to do it is a different question.

Rumor has it that you can get Nanites in the ACHE.
...
*cough*

I have to admit that I was quite surprised to see that the nanotech section was mechanically just a tweaked reproduction of the Augmentation Nanotech stuff. After Data Trails wholesale left out so much TM stuff, I figured we'd get almost nothing in the way of nanotech.

But a run to the ACHE sounds like a major pain...

I've been to the ACHE when it was called something else.
You will NEVER get me to set foot in there again. I don't care if it has been cleared of all those helpful, friendly, killer drones and crazy AIs. Never. Going. Back.

Rumours abound that due to budget issues the Metroplex Government has been considering offloading the topside section (of course the reactors in the basement stay under military control).
Interestingly, Aztechnology has expressed an interest in taking over the mall and housing project for whatever reason.
So yes, if it goes through it truly becomes an AZ-ACHE. ;D

Does that sound like bees?
Good lord, what a way to send off the edition. So much fun. So much terror.

Really... Who wants cake when you can have pie? No wonder the only people who want it is Aztechnology... if you offered pie everybody would want to be there!!!!
-
Look at me sig.... do I sound like someone who eats cake???
Now if it was beer....
Nope. One round of PTSD and night terrors per character.
But maybe for 3 flats of beer, i might put a toe in the door....
(Go watch Virus with Jaime Lee Curtis, then apply THAT to the arcology... and that is just the tip of the Bat-Shit-Crazy our GM put are characters though! God bless him!)

Obligatory..
THE CAKE IS A LIE!

I'm only here because I was told there would be punch and pie.

I'm sorry that was "You will be PUNCHED by PYE not there will be punch and pie, please don't look over your shoulder."

I read that slightly differently
"This system grants a +1
dice pool modifier and increases the Mental limit by its
Rating when using Intuition-linked skills."
That reads as +1 dice, +Rating limit, rather than +Rating dice, +Rating limit, to me.
Still nice, though. I think I'll be investigating a source for them rather than investing in a nanohive, though. Also without the hive they could be good for mages, as far as I can see, as they don't cost essence.
