@Artie - You have a wonderful time dancing with Bekki at Dantes. She is quite a dancer and you feel like you two clicked very well. Sometime during that night you take a seat by the bar drinking and laughing and sharing stories. Even a after a few drinks you know how not to reveal too much about your real work, but still tell a good story. You feel a little dizzy when you receive a note “Looking for work? There is something I need delivered. Ask the barman for the house special. Emphasis on special. ” You look around puzzled trying to figure out who passed you the note. A muscular black guy dressed in a very fashionable and yet excessive sleeping tiger nods at you as you form eye contact.
@Big Jim - You get a text from a guy named Bruno >>I was chatting with Lora and your name came up, I need you for a job. I am not normally doing these things, but I will find a way to compensate you for your time and effort. Lora is a bartender you know, she works at the Skelton, a very fashionable club in the barrens with life music, and some very promising young artists.

BigJim was grabbing a bite from a street vendor when this text notification appeared in the periphery of his vision. He paid for his meat sandwich, not even bothering to guess what kind of meat that would be - probably not even an animal. But it tasted ok with all the spices and that's really all he cared for really.
Shoving a huge piece in his mouth, he read the text from this Bruno. He didn't recall knowing anyone going by such name. Sounded more to him like a hairdresser name or something. But Lora, he knew. She was sweet. Not necessary pretty but she had what a woman needed at the right place, including the few extra pounds. She could probably care less if he was found dead in a gutter, but she was more than willing to tell stories for the right tip.
A few things bothered him: the said inexperience of the employer, and his "find a way to compensate" phrase which means probably a lot of effort for little pay. But he wasn't gonna be picky. He barely made his payment on time last few days and broke as he was he needed start collected money. A nice big pay job would have been nice, but he couldn't just wait for one...
He sent a text back to the guy: >>I'll be there shortly then.<<

He took his bike and made his way to the Skelton. The only things he liked about that place were the drinks, courtesy of Lora's generous pour, and the Live music. Life in the Barrens wasn't pretty, but there was something with music that could always bring hope and joy. The one thing he disliked about the place: the bunch of Hippies who think the Barrens is a fun place to hang out. Fashion and Barrens just don't go together. Period. He would gladly take them on a trip outside of the illusive security of Touristville. Let them wet their skinny pants a bit.
He sat on a stool at the bar. Yo Lora, how you doing today? Hit me with a beer, will ya'? When she brought him the refreshing beverage, he asked her in a lower tone: 'Bruno here?

@Big Jim Lora gives you her million dollar smile and pours you your favorite brand with an extra free shot of scotch. She pocket your money skillfully and point you toward a tough looking orc, in dark leather clothes. He sits alone and slowly drinks beer as he listen to some young band called the mega pixie, in their odd combination of metal and pop.

A smile break through BigJim's bearded face. He wasn't the kind to smile a lot, if ever. But the extra scotch shoots was all he need for his day to be good. "That's my girl! Thanks gorgeous.". Well it didn't hurt to lie a bit.
He grabbed his drink and headed towards the tough looking Orc. Not your typical hairdresser apparently....

The orc say, "Bruno, I am told you go by Big Jim?" He shakes your hand with a confident shake and say "Cheers". After a short while he say, "Look, my boss is in a bit of mess, I am sure he will pay you if he does not, I'll give you my Suzuki mirage. Someone tried to assassinate him and he is currently in deep cover. There is a lose end however, a Decker friend that was with us at the time of the assassination attempt.
I have her place watched, she is a Mafia girl. I want to grab her and disappear as soon as they try to move her. It may take a while, but with all the chaos around this assassination it wont be long before they move her to some place where we can never see her again and my boss cover will be no more. I'll go over my authority and say that he'll give you enough money to buy a mirage of your own...otherwise you can take mine and I'll get the money, interested? "

So let me recap... Your boss is under cover... Someone tried to geek him and if I get it straight, you and Decker girl were there when that happened? Decker girl chills with the Mafia, they want to move her. You want her first.
I tell you what. I can handle that job for the price of a new Mirage. Two things though.
One, I don't care about your bike. I got by own set of wheels. It's an old Growler but believe me you'd rather be riding of of these in some parts of the Barrens than your fancy, speedy Mirage. And if I try reselling it I'll get what, half of what's it's really worth? ...So either your boss pays me or you're gonna have to throw in a little extra to match the price of a brand new Suzuki.
Two. I'm gonna need to understand a bit more about the parties involve here. Those Mafia peeps can be ruthless if you don't brush their pelt properly. First of, on which side are we? Your Decker friend is with the Mafia but we're gonna act against them? And your boss, what sort of cover are we talking about? What is he, a cop or something?

@Big Jim Bruno tells you "I am with the Mafia and so is my boss and Nagisa, the decker. The thing is Mafia is not a single entity, there are many mafioso and right now we do not know who wants my boss dead. When I dropped the Decker at her safe house, I did not understand it was an assignation. I was ordered 'if there are problems' take her back. We were only overwatch and I was her bodyguard.
Problems started so I did, few hours later when I understood what kind of problems started I figured that she might be interrogated in such a manner that she will never be the same again, and perhaps she can get my boss killed. I have no problem with what you are suggesting but to be honest - I do not have this kind of money liquid. I have 3k nuyen and I still want to try and hire another runner as I do not like the heroics. My boss is a good person, I am sure he will pay. Decker girl can get him killed, he'll have no choice."

That said, I'll do the job. Is this related to the explosions of last night? Sure wasn't very subtle.

He lower his voice and say, "It was an explosion but it wasn't THAT explosion. I am so glad you are in. About that, what we are going to do, can have me killed or even worse.
We use non lethal weapons tonight and try not to kill anyone. I am certain that someone is going to take Nagisa for interrogation but I have no idea if that person is our enemy. If we start killing his people, that mafiosi will be our enemy.
The safe house is solid - much security and there is no way to get in without a massacre but when they move her there will not be much security as they want to keep her presence under the radar. I will come with you to this gig, but I am not a shadowrunner. Some of the things you can do are way over my league. I can drive and use pistols and fists.
When we are done here I want you to the safehouse, there is a young street girl named Rabbit in there. She is like 14 or something, you replace her in there. Watch the house and get yourself comfortable and hidden. It may take a while. The other runner I am trying to recruit is some familiar face so that Nagisa is more likely to come willingly, if Nagisa help us extract her it becomes easier"

Artie looks over and nods. 5000¥ was already burning a hole in her pocket, but there was always time for more. At least she could hear the guy out. She glanced over to see Bekki on the dance floor and figured she could take a few minutes to see what the deal here was. She sidled over and leaned against the wall.
"What do you think?", she asks him, indicating Bekki, while she opened up with small talk.

@Artie The black man sizes her up and say "Your date seems very pretty... nice catch" He winks at you.

"We'll see, I guess," she shrugs. "I'm gonna get a drink I guess, do you think it'll be my last for the evening or am I going to have time to hang with my date a while longer?" The question is meant to gauge whether this fellow wants his package delivered now, or if there's time.

So I kick a teen girl named Rabbit out of her turf and make myself comfortable. Watch what you're asking, brother. Considering the circumstances, yes, another runner might be good. We'll only have one shot to get the Decker.
You need to let me know in advance who the other runner will be. How far are the safehouses from one another?

She moves over to the bar. "Let's get the house special, omae. And another Society for my friend." She glances over at Bekki before checking her commlink.

@Artie the barman give you a burner, there is just one number in that burner it is named
Vitamin- B12. When you call it you hear a familiar voice - it is Bruno.
"Hi Artie! I finally find you. I did not want to call your link because it is all very hush hush... you wouldn't believe how many pubs I sent friends to look for you. Listen... We need to get Nagisa out not a word for Athos or Yulia. That way if we fail they have their deniability.
The Finnigan's are going to interrogate her and if she cracks they are going to be in danger. Can you meet me at this address as soon as possible? "
It is a small squat house in the Barrens.
Bekki thank you for her drink, and watches you a bit puzzled as she drink it.

Artie rolls her eyes. I thought I was done with that job...
She looks to the dance floor and beckons Bekki over. "Got you a last drink, but looks like I gotta go. It's not even my friends I told you about before, it's a work thing." She rolls her eyes. "I have to take it where I can so that means I have to go. I have time to get you home, though, or you can stay here and mingle if you're having too much fun."

OOC: you will find Bruno and Big Jim already in position watching what appears to be an ordinary house in the Barrens but you know that this is where you picked Nagisa from. Feel free to RP until that stage.
@Spitfire - It is the middle of the night, worse than that. it is freaking 2 am. Where ever you are, and what ever you must be doing you are surprised to get this message

Feeling her AR ping with a new message, Spitfire pulls herself away from the dance floor and towards a slightly quieter portion of the bar. After taking a moment to grab another drink and look a few of the bars patrons over she opened up the message. It wasn't often shamus gave her new contacts, an In with the mob no less still it might be worth it to look into both as a favor to shamus and an inroad to future runs. After considering the idea for a few moments and realizing she wasn't really "feeling" the mood in the bar tonight she hit reply.

She always like riding shamus a little hard, he was almost 50 years her junior, and though he was the areas IRA lieutenant his position was more honorary than political rare amongst one of the few remaining truly political movements left in the sixth world. After all when you earn a position that high but cant ever return to your home country it puts a damper on what you can actually do for those back home, regardless, he had been a reliable and consummate gentleman up to date and she wouldn't refuse the chance to help a member of the "good fight" as he had put it.
Smiling as a few patrons passed her by she waited calmly for a reply noting to herself she would have to do a quick change as her current outfit was more fit for left on the floor after a lucky night with someone than covered in blood, and hey it was her favorite pair of leggings they don't make these things cheap anymore!

Reading over the message caused her to slam the rest of her drink down quickly, no sense wasting good booze as she collected her things and made her way towards the door. She hit reply on her comlink and typed.
I understand shamus, I try my best not to ever have to call you for backup. But send me the number ill take care of the rest its about time I stretched my legs again and test out these new upgrades I got.
Walking over to her bike she grabbed her helmet and put it on. This bike always felt right, a Evo Falcon kitted out with different tires and an over body kit that turned it from off road monster to a street racer almost as fast as a Mirage but not quite it used to be a pile of scrap not to long ago but some hard work and a few matrix trids and she had a new looking sports bike, even if it wasn't technically one. She kicked on the engine and pulled into the street making her way back to her house. She arrived soon after and began to change waiting for shamus's message back, booting up her cyberdeck while she waited.

@Big Jim - Bruno tells you you can go there - I am still hoping to place Artie. If I can't find her in 30 minutes I'll join you. It is also best if we do not leave together. He shares his number with you, and give you marks on some micro cameras that watch the nearby streets. "They are not connected to the matrix so you can only see their feed in a small radius about them... they are to make sure that our nobody else approach the house in the nearby streets."

Artie knocks on the door and when Bruno answers, she scowls somewhat. "Alright, this has to do with the explosion at the warehouse, doesn't it? What's the play here?"

@Big Jim -You find Rabbit watching the warehouse, it is a squat nearby and there are some googles. You release her and wait. Bruno arrive 30 minutes later and Artie 15 minutes after that.
@Artie Bruno tells you "Athos and Yulia are in big troubles, someone was trying to kill them and Nagisa is a lose end, we need to extract her from the family before they take her for questioning. I am not letting Athos know about it as if we fail it is going to be very bad for him to be involved. I am sure that there will be pay, but it is up to Athos to decide, I promised the other guy 7.5k as I am not exactly a Jhonson, if Athos won't pay him he get my bike.
We are now watching the safe house and wait for them to move Nagisa. Are you in?" If Artie is in, Bruno introduce her to Big. Jim

As she waited she changed into her combat gear, donning her leather pants, armored jacket, holstering her TMP, and combat knife. Taking one long look at her cyber arm she was pleased with the new upgrades to it, knowing it was almost twice as deadly as it used to be. She smiled placing the last of her gear in a small backpack and readied herself for a response.

Artie rolls her eyes in exasperation. This is just the kind of drek I don't want to get involved in, she thinks to herself, but me and Athos go way back and I can't let the mouse down.
Puffing out a breath she nods, "Fine, I'm in but you owe me big, Bruno. Athos, too." She grinned, suddenly. "And the Mouse, Bruno. You make sure you tell her that, when this is all done."
She looks over at Big Jim. "Holy shit," she exclaims, "You're Big Jim. Been running out of the Barrens for a while, wiz to meet you." She extends a hand to him.
"I'm Artie. That's R and T. Mostly I move stuff from Guy A to Guy B. My bread and butter, so if you ever need me to get something to someone and it's small enough for one person to carry it, and you want to be damn sure it gets there, I'm the gal to call." She looks over at Bruno for a moment, "But I guess tonight I'm the real deal, too, eh? Shadowrunnin. Well, at least I can handle myself. Cat's got her string."

BigJim made himself comfortable as offered.
He pulled one of the mismatch chair available, connected to the cameras to have their feed play on an ARO in front of him, and started loading gel rounds in his Franchi SPAS-24 shotgun. He had it slightly modified to have the shock pad replaced with a folding stock, so he could carry it attached his backpack more easily.
When Bruno opened the door for Artie, BigJim rose an eyebrow upon seeing the woman and looked at her from head to toes. So she's the one who's supposed to know Nagisa already...
He remained however silent until Bruno made the introduction.He was definitely surprised that she seemed to know of him. He wasn't much of a bragger and liked to remain in the shadow, but he had never been afraid to get involved in the good of the neighborhood, be it removing some gangers or making friend with others. He just felt sorry a little he couldn't return the compliment to the woman.
He however shook her hand which was firm and strong. He liked to judge people by their hand shake. Pleasure's mine RT. There's always a spot for a gal like you in the Shadows. Couriers have their use if they can also handle a fight.
I've been told you already know the target. I guess one of your job will be to convince her to come with us without putting a fight. The other one, well, we're gonna need to get rid of her escort.

At this exact moment I'm a bit confused on where people are so forgive me if I just wandered into a place were supposed to be watching.
Taking a moment to grab a soda from the fridge she sat back down at her desk, littered with spare parts from computers to cyberware and even a comlink or two. This was home as much as it was a decent bed, some warm food and enough space to do most of the things she needed, the gym down the street had everything else. All in all it was a nice little place in Seattle's Little Dublin district. Not long after finishing her drink she got the text and replied. >> I'm a decker, got a recommendation from a mutual acquaintance of ours of a situation you might need a hand with. We can discuss payment later, our friend indicated you needed help now. Do you? It did not take long for her to get a response back.
@ Bruno texts back >>If your decker, Find me, tell me what street im on.
The tracking algorithm worked perfectly, one message in and she already had a fix on his location, she could only smile and pat her deck it had served her well once again. >>That satisfy you? she texted back, leaving a streets photo of the safe house with a address scribbled underneath.
@ Bruno replied >>Fair enough, come to the south-side door as quick as you can.
She smiled and responded. >>Ill be there. Unplugging and folding up her cyberdeck she quickly shoved it into her bag while stuffing her comlink now with bruno's location and directions into her pocket. As she was stepping out the door she eyed her EBR the rifle that had just a scant few weeks ago saved her life from that hellish time in Chicago, she paused for just a moment before deciding she should bring it with her. Slinging it and her backpack over her shoulder she departed. It didn't take long for her to reach the south side of the building, parking her bike next to the other cars that were there she paused for a moment to take in the surroundings even now she could see the cameras eyeing her. Hmm, good placement and decent coverage of the entrances and exits they must have seen me by now, and since I don't have bullet holes in my chest that must mean I'm allowed in. She thought to herself as she made her way towards the door and entered the building.
Also guys sorry about the text to bruno not having an address I didn't want to just make one up and it be the completely wrong part of Seattle! So I kinda had to fudge it.

@Artie Bruno laugh, "if you ever looked to the back you'd get the vibe that Nagisa does not like me very much. She barely agreed to stay alone me, so I doubt I can extract her without knoking her out without you. The murder sister dichotomy is the best we can get tonight. "
@Spitfire Bruno say: "well that was indeed impressive, we are going to extract a decker from the Mafia. I have 3k nuyen and my boss may or may not extend this reward to 7k, but do not send people to brake my bones if he does not. I am sort of operating from my own very limited resources and I am the sole provider for my family."
@Big Jim: "I can be quite a scary guy when I try, but I am drek at lying, I hope that the decker will want to come with us."
Now that you are all in the same space, feel free to make the time and introduce/plan.
You are talking on a single car perhaps two cars, with the asset and some body guards and Bruno said that he want nobody to die and hopefully nothing stolen because he does not even understand if these people are the one that tried to kill Athos and Minnie or not.

"No gun, I'm afraid," Artie responds. "Like I said, I'm just a courier, I get from point A to point B. Now, that doesn't mean I can't scrap, sometimes I move something that a fourth party wants and I have to fend them off. When that does happen, I make them pay. Helps my rep if folks who come after me never come back. Keeps em off my back and my employers happy.
"That said, when I do fight, it's usually pretty fatal," she looks to Bruno, "You prefer no killing, what about permanent retirement?"

@Artie Bruno said "Please, no killing and no permanent damage. I have a family and we are not even sure whose fingers we are stepping on. It may even be Athos' boss. You may be able to get away but I'll find myself tortured in ways I wish I was already dead."

Looking to Bruno as she walks up and places her bag and gun on the table. "I am here on behalf of a mutual friend of both your boss and mine, pay is just bonus at this point, I'd rather trade favors than cash right now." Her accent particularly thick this night. Turning to where Big Jim was loading up his gun, "Mind if I barrow a few?" She asks giving him a wink, and pulling out a Remington room-sweeper and emptying it of its shells.

@Spitfirre Perhaps it is desperation, perhaps a leap of faith, Bruno seems a bit embarrassed and mumbles "Okay... hop on... I am Bruno, and these are Artie and Big Jim. People, I really have no experience with runners. I definitely have never extracted anyone before. So I will let you come up with a plan."

BigJim gave a weird look at Bruno when she announced she didn't use guns. But he let the issue go. HE would have to take it into consideration in his plan though.
Bruno, do you have any taser or a gun with gel rounds or Stick'n Shock ammo?
@Spitfire Suit yourself, honey, but those gel rounds may jam in your sweeper. He pulled his short barrel T-250 from the holster on his back, hidden under his jacket. I'll let you borrow that if you promise to give it back.
The same he did to Artie, he looks the Decker woman from head to toe, not even trying to be discreet about it.
You look pretty bad ass for a Decker, including that metal arm of yours. What's your deal? Combat Decker ain't many these days.

"Right, no deadly force," Artie nodded. Under her breath, she muttered, "Well, that makes things a bit tougher..."
She took a seat on a crate. "Well, I won't be shooting anyone. I can get in close, I can probably knock a guy out, if need be. I might be able to sneak into the place. Who's calling the shots?" She looks towards Jim.

Making eye contact with Jim after he looks her over she replies, "See anything you like chummer?" Giving him the flattest look she could. Taking a moment to look over the T-250 she shrugged and placed her roomsweeper on the table. "I am better with a longarm than a pistol anyway. If you want it...Artie was it? You can use it, got it off a orc that decided to pull it on me, you can guess what happened to him." She looked back to Jim after taking the T-250 and loading it with Gel rounds, "Two things I learned through my life, one is if you can kick someones ass they will respect you, have the ability to ruin there life they will fear you, and second, guys will always look at my rack and then my arm, usually wards off the undesirable ones. But if you want to know, lost it a long time ago to something I would rather not talk about, and it was either get a new robotic arm or have a stub, you can tell which one I chose. Its almost fully custom at this point, not very many of the original parts left. I figure sure if I can deck I can do drek, but if im there with the team im there to back them up and they are there to back me up worked well so far, and sometimes its really worth it to know you can shoot the bastard that shoot at you in the first place." She played with the gun a little more setting and adjusting it to herself before looking back to the team. I'm up for fallowing or leading up to you guy's, the planning part is the most fun anyway. She could only smirk at her last comment.

I added a layer on the game map for this run with the locations of the cameras, your own location the safehouse. You will want to make the grab while still in the Barrens otherwise you might be chased by the police. (Or at least you need to take it into account, the KE are formally on a policy of 'what happens in the Barrens stays in the barrens - unless they have a personal interest in interfering.)
I'll let you some time to pick a spot for an ambush and make a plan, you are looking at one or perhaps two cars that will make their way to the gates casino. Request permission to edit the map, and then place markers of the positions you are going to take.

Taking a moment to look over the map Spitfire speaks up, "From what I see, we could go now and try and grab the girl, if any of youguys are at all stealthy and cut out the ambush getting them with there pants down now. Or we could wait till there on the move block off the road and yank them then. Or we could wait till they arrive and we disable there cars, I have a silencer for my rifle I could take a guy out or someone else could if there a better shot than me." She leaned back from the map and looked towards the others waiting for any other ideas or suggestions.

"Yeah, I think I'll try to go take a look, get eyes on the place," Artie says. "As for a gun, I don't even know what I'd do with it. Best we leave off, I'll be fine. But, what you could do is check for and mark every commlink they have over there so I can get at least a little warning of some of what we might see. With that, Artie steps out the door with the intent of seeing exactly how many guys they were up against and what their posture was. Where they all just hanging out inside playing cards while they waited to move or were they patrolling the perimeter of the house, or just sitting at the doors. She expects that some of the guys will be running silent. A decker would find most of them but they might have their own decker on board, so getting literal eyes on would be best.

@Spitfire - there is something very odd about that safe-house. At a first glance there is no activity at all, but then it strike you. First their grid is super fast, way faster than you expect anyone i the Barrens to have. You can also spot multiple satellite dishes and antennas running silent and physically hidden. You spot no icons at all just a small host. It appears that other than the Antennas and satellite dishes that serve as a an access point to the outside world. The rest of the icons are hidden inside the host.

Bruno has mentioned the security inside the safegouse is top notch and way too guarded to attempt getting in. I have to doubt you can pull it off, but we're simply not gonna take the chance. There's more at stake here than a simple extraction. Politics at play and shit.
So that leaves us with the ambush option and it's a matter of deciding where we pull it.
Spitfire, I'm more interested in your hacking skills to start with. Can you brick a vehicle? Or at least momentarily stop it?

@Artie there is a single, unarmed guard at the entrance. At first you were not even sure he is a guard as he is dressed like an homeless and just sits on the pavement covered with newspapers. Watching him for a while you notice that he is very much aware of his surrounding. Too alert for someone that sleeps on the streets. Other than that there are no visible security guards. Not even a car right now. It seems like that if somebody want to move the decker the first step will be to send a car to pick her up.

Turning to look at Jim she replies, "If its got rigger equipment I can do it wireless, but if a rigger is in it I cant do jack, or its not rigger equipped then I have to hook in via a physical connection, also those guys over there are pretty smart, low strength host, but no showing icons, means there over there with some decent security, I can get in, but once im in it will be hard to stay stealth once im in, might be able to contact our charge while im in there though, but if im found they will probably call for back up screwing the pooch as it were." She took a moment to think it over. I could try and get in and see what I see, but as soon as I get in I wont have long, so either hard and fast early with the chance of back up, or try and wait for the car and hit them then."

Almost to prove Bruno his point, the off-terrain capacity of his bike is a blessing to such situation.

Artie gracefully hops onto the back of the bike, never quite taking a seat, but kneeling on the balls of her feet and holding on to the man. As he nears the house, she launches herself, qi flowing through her as she simply allows her forward momentum to give vault herself up onto the roof. As she does so, she engages the RPC on her Sleeping Tiger and slows her movement to a brisk scuttle, the image link on her ballistic mask feeding back to the others.
She pads down the sloped roof and prepares herself to leap atop one of them if she must, but waits for a signal, any signal, from someone else.

Alright, I got Artie on the roof and Big Jim at the front door while the guards and Nagisa came trough the back. Anything else? do you wait for them to get out? to you get in yourself?

Managing to brick both of the guards guns rendering them useless Spitfire managed to barely survive a dataspike from Nagisa. It did some damage to her deck but she managed to get off wireless before she could do any damage. "I would suggest you guys grab the girl while you can, she just tried to fragging brick me, so she trusts the guards at least, but there guns don't work, and the best ambassador in the world is a loaded shotgun. But you don't have long till they call for backup" She packed up her things and made ready to make a break for her bike, knowing soon there would be a chase.
Managed to brick there guns by Nagisa detected me, darn her! Well at least that makes it easier for you guys to grab her, though you might have to persuade her to come with us. She had to stop to ask the guards if there guns had been decked so I bought you a few moments use it well.

With the guards having their guns bricked, an angry decker girl that need to be 'rescued' and reinforcements that are probobly only seconds away you need to be very quick and precise with your next actions, Artie is on the roof and Big Jim is at the front door. The girl and her now semi useless bodyguards is in the building and they will probobly wait for backup now that they know that their guns are not working.

@Big Jim. When you enter you understand that the building is some kind of shop, a bakery actually. Nagisa screams in surprise seeing you bursting with the gun and one of the guards jump over her so that she is now hidden over the counter. At complete sync the other guard tosses a grenade at you.
The first to act is Nagisa she is unarmed but has a deck, if your gun is wireless she will try to data spike it - you defend with firewall + intuition and resist matrix damage with firewall + device rating. The damage is 5 + net hits.
If it isn't she will target what wireless thing she can find on you(1. comlink, 2. vision device 3. (not sure... let me know what the situation is and I'll come up with something).

@Spitfire - this all happens so fast, the TEN van is moving again, galloping the distance to the entrance of the cookie shop. You are too slow to interfere with the combat in there with the meat it will take you about half a minute to get there and by that time it will all be over, if you are going to contribute it is via matrix.
By the way. The guards are not marked when you turned off your deck to prevent damage you gave up your marks.

As you leave for the bikes you see the TEN bulldog dashing toward you at an alarming speed. It seem to be in collision course with Big Jim bike, following it but not keeping up is Spitfire.
Bruno texts you >> They are going crazy in there five people by foot and two more on bikes are leaving the safe house.
You are still in combat - it will probobly become chase combat but you can never know.
The bulldog is going to try and ram Big Jim's bike and currently it is the only one directly involved in the combat. The bikes will take a while to catch up and the people by foot will only become a problem if your rides are compromised they have no way of keeping up with bikes.

As Spitfire surges ahead, Artie whips the small cylinder she holds, revealing an arching monofilament whip. As soon as she can, she whips it directly at the back tire, attempting to shred it before recoiling the whip back into its handle.

I subtracted 4 from my Dice Pool for that. There is no listed Called Shot to the Wheel. The closest is Called Shot to the Axle on page 115 of Run and Gun. For that, if even 1 point of DV gets through, it drops the speed of the vehicle to 1. I could see losing a tire dropping the handling and speed each by 1 (not all the way to 1), but looks like it's your call if I can even target the tire, much less the effect. If you want it to not be Tire but to be an Axle Hit since that's in the book, then I lose the last two rolls on that and it's only 5 hits, not 6.

Oh no you're not shouted BigJim unknowingly at the same time as Spitfire. Eh quickly analyze the Van collision course, and grabbed Nagasi's arm. C'mon, we can make it. Today's my lucky day!
He ran to his bike, dragging the Decker along. He pushed the engine and as the bike took momentum, made a sharp left to get out of the Van's trajectory.
Edge point to steal the initiative. which put BigJim at 27 this combat turn. Action are to drive the bike to dodge the Van and get the hell out.

Big Jim and Nagisa hop the bike just in time to get the engine running before that bulldog van that is already too close and too fast for comfort tries to ram them. Nagisa cry in horror and big Jim understands, if that Van hit them, it may kill them, he imay actually survive that but Nagisa is likely to die on the spot.

@All the van out of control and crush into one of the wooden buildings. One of the goons barely manage to jump out the other was trying unsuccessfully to establish manual control. Who knows, the bulldog itself completely passed through the building and stopped somewhere inside.

Yeah, when controlling a vehicle, once per combat turn you have to make a drive test or crash. When it doesn't really matter, you can have the dog brain make the drive test, but when you really need to get performance, best if you do it.

- Big Jim some how manage to evade unharmed the inferno he suffered. Luck must really be on the side of that one. Once the van crushes Big Jim even dodge the third shower of lead by the goon that managed to jump out.
Right now, you are all on bikes and as you continue to speed toward safety you notice that about 150 meters after you there are the two bikes Bruno warned you about. The rigger must have already recovered from being 'dumped' as there is also a well armed rotodrone that approaches you from the north.
You have some options, in front of you there is a bridge that crosses the 405 highway. It has small KE checkpoint on it. On the other side of the 405, there is Bellevue. It is a rich neighborhood and if you somehow cross that bridge it is unlikely that the conspicuous bikers and the roto drone will follow you, as the security is very tight.
If you do not cross the bridge, you can either turn right, (north) or left (south), this will also limit your options and you will better retreat deeper into the Barrens as you may be spotted by the drones of Bellevue and if you flash some illegal firepower it may backfire.

"South on Slater!" Artie didn't think her SIN would hold up to scrutiny on either side of an armed chase. It worked fine for day to day passage, but she didn't want to test it with the mob hot on their tails. That thing had cost her some serious cred.
As they turned left, Artie waited until Spitfire was in the slowest point of the turn, yelled, "KEEP GOING!" and then hopped off, tumbling and regaining her feet before ducking behind a tree. If she timed this right...
Artie is wireless disabled, she doesn't have a lot that benefits from wireless functionality and is to vulnerable to being hacked.
Her plan here is to wait until a rider (preferably the second rider) is coming into the turn and then time her rush and basically clothesline him off of his bike, very action movie style.

It all happens so fast and suddenly Spitfire is alone on the bike, looking around to where did Artie go she cannot place her. A moment she was on the bike and the other moment she vanished into thin air. Artie patiently waits for the right moment and hops on the second bike taking the rider to the ground under her weight and sending his bike racing toward the 405 highway. In the meanwhile the second biker and the rotodrone continue toward Big Jim and Nagisa trying to gain on him and ignoring the rest.

While the roll is amazing Artie is still limited by her physical limit but it is super cool so the biker is unaware. Few people can pull off such a feat it was nothing he could anticipate.
@Alll I'll give obidancer another day but if he does not post I'll have to NPC him for a while so you are not left hanging in there. His character will be concentrating all the heat now that he carries Nagisa.
Obidancer when you are back please also roll a dodge test at -9 as the rotodrone is going to send full automatic fire down your way. Like you can imagine they really do not want someone else to have Nagisa.
You are now in combat, with speed as the limit. First step is initiative and then stunts/driving actions. Nobody cares about traffic rules in the Barrens so feel free to speed up. Careful about illegal fire arms and the likes because you are not very far from the security of Bellevue and there is a chance to be spotted.
Artie is probobly going to stay behind unless she manages to end the first initiative round on that bike. Even in that case she will be behind.
Chase combat is explained in p 203 of core rules.
You start at long range, (~100 meters) traffic is very light so driving conditions are ideal. If you manage to go beyond extreme range you escaped. If you get to close range expect gun fire and ramming and other nasty things. The goons are armed with sub machine guns and the rotodrone with an assault rifle.

+130 - Big Jim and Spitfire and Nagisa.
The bikes are manually controlled so offline. The rotodrone is wireless and can be targeted with matrix as well as guns. If you shoot at it consider a range of 120 meters. (it is also high above you). The biker at range of 100 meters please consider it with your weapon if you attack him.
@Spitfire - Turning the deck back online will take a complete combat turn. (protection comes with a price - so no matter what happens you cannot use the deck in first combat round.)

Barely having the time to notice Artie jump off Spitfire pulled out her Styer TMP, it wasn't much but it was better than trying to use a rifle on the back of a bike while driving, and tried to keep Big Jim and Nagisa in front and to the side of her and the bad guys, giving Jim clear lines of fire so she would not hinder him shooting as well. She decided not to use her cyberdeck yelling for Nagisa to hack the drone and take it down.

As the rotodrone sprays full automatic fire Big Jim understands that his luck has run out in an instinctive moment he tosses Nagisa away as if she was a nothing but a rug doll. He himself, is clearly hit by the inferno and crushes toward the 405 in a desperate attempt to find some sort of cover. In the heat of the moment his fate is unknown but he was clearly hit and so was the bike. Nagisa lies there, in a pool of blood and is completely numb. The only thing that gives hope as to her condition is the black smoke that comes out of the rotodrone, that now moves in a chaotic manner.
In the meanwhile the remaining biker dashes toward Nagisa, hoping to grab or verify the kill before anyone has a chance to stop him. Spitfire takes a moment to process what just happened and in that moment her bike advances past Nagisa. If she wants to reach her before the biker she has to be quicker and do a 180 degrees turn. From the distance you can hear the KE patrol car gearing into action in response to the massive automatic fire from that rotodrone.
The way I see it there is spitfire on one side. The mafia biker on the other and Nagisa in the middle. (Spitfire passed Bigjim when his bike crushed). So to get first to Nagisa spitfire has to make a 180 turn and be faster than the biker:

Spitfire pulled a fast 180 but to her dismay, her own bike was only just as fast as the other riders, managing to make it close to the other biker she tried to cloths line him, both in an effort to get him off his bike, but also away from Nagisa. Today had not been her day but if she was quick she could take care of this punk and slap a trama patch on Nagisa and hopefully keep her alive till they could get out of this.

@Artie - that biker knew whats coming for him and bailed as soon as he heard that the KE became interested in the happeining, the small patrol car have crossed the bridge and is now headed toward you. It seemed to have completely missed the two of you as well full automatic fire is a lot louder.
OOC: I am now waiting for spitfire to clearify what unarmed attack she does, the damage and her new initiative. Big Jim should also be able to operate (first) on this initiative phase.

@Big Jim with such a massive damage the bike cannot sustain two riders and is unsafe to drive.
(every 3 damage drop limits by 1 and gives penalties to handling. + another passenger the bike simply will not take it. - You can run tough)

@Spitfire when Big Jim grabs Nagisa the goon runs after her, completely ignoring you. In the meanwhile the KE car is passing through directly to the crushed rotodrone. They are looking around and are trying to make sense of it all. One copper is by foot, and the other one is driving slowly up the street in the car and both seems to be actively looking for anything suspicious.
You can use stealth to evade (otherwise you will have to talk/fight the KE as well)

Still on her bike spitfire knows she cant to anything to help, to run would grab there attention and to abandon her bike and gear would just lead back to her. Letting the mobster run after Big Jim, Spitfire turns off her bike and sets it along the side of the street and places her guns in her bike and takes a seat lighting up a cigarette. "Oh well, I had a good run." She mutters to herself taking a drag of her cigarette.

If there was one thing BigJim knew he was good at was becoming a ghost. Top it with the darkness of the night and the vast places nearby to hide, he could just disappear and never be seen again, but he had someone in charge of now. He quickly brought Nagisa in between two houses and put her in the shadow behind a pile of broken furniture and other garbage. He placed his index finger over his mouth to signal her to remain silent and hidden, and stepped back a bit to completely disappear in the darkness.

It was a tense moment. BigJim could see the KE officer approaching, and he hoped Nagiza would stay hidden. Lucky for them, he stopped the mobster and BigJim used that distraction to command Nagisa to silently move with a hand gesture and whisper if she didn't get the former. He signals getting deeper into the properties to reach the road on the other side, letting her go ahead of following suit to cover them in case the officer or more mobster would decide to follow.

Arriving at the skeleton Spitfire lets out a sigh of relief, at least she wasn't getting shot at in this moment and her deck was still intact. Helping Nagisa off the bike she speaks, "Now you and I lass are gonna have a talk about how trying to brick someones deck when there trying to help you is generally considered a dick move." She stops talking as Nagisa's injuries show how badly she is hurt. "But that's a conversation for another time, Come on lets get you some help." Bringing an arm around to hold the poor girl up.

She gave her a wink before setting her down patching up what ever scrapes and cuts she could find with her first aid kit. "There ya go. When your feeling better you can take me out to dinner in repayment for my deck, though I don't expect the night to end softly now that I know you play rough." She teased.
Turning to Bruno still helping Nagisa, Spitfire quips, "Guns, car chases, and damsels in distress." Giving Nagisa a wink, "Besides needing to patch the little lass up a bit more, I think we did ok considering, but we really need a place to lay low now."

He becomes silent and switch to small talk once the waiter comes to take your orders and he invites you to order what ever you want at his expense.

@All The farm is a modern day fortress with armed men patrolling its borders, at this late hour it is closed for visitors and as its agriculture products are an expensive luxury the farm is expected to be guarded like a bank vault. It takes about 30 minutes and you are close enough to the farm. It is not a big one and you can see the house in the middle of the property just several kilometers down the road. However, you will have to decide how to approach this, place.

@Spitfire you notice a bunch of flying eye in the sky, pressure plates on the floor and a couple of rotodrones on call. There are also distant but subtle sounds of more patrol, who would believe that fresh food is going to require this kind of security.

Assuming that you hand over your weapons the two men takes you to Rboin, she lives inside the farms but apparently not in a house but in a relatively small longhouse made of wood. When you enter you cannot but admire the amount of comotion of dozen's of drones small and big that enter and leave the long house. It is not obvious whom you want to talk to but your unpleasant hosts insisst that Robin now live here. They leave you there to stroll and after a short while you find a life support unit inside a rigger cacoon, with the name Robin on it. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be an obvious method to open it or anyone to talk to. Whomever is inside this life support unit is in cryogenic freezing, typically done for rich people until their condition can be treatable or until their money runs out.
In all this wonder, it is easy to miss a blip indicating a new text message that does not seem to arrive from any number at all. Thous technologically savvy may know that it is an ancient communication devices for disaster recovery. It is still present in modern devices - that message did not come from the matrix it was directly transmitted to your device by some communication system in the room. "Hello there... I am Robin... what can I do for you?"

BigJim reluctantly hand over both his shotguns. He hated that too, but being stubborn wasn't gonna take them anywhere. Instead they were brought to this weirder place. His eye were going all over the plac eas he tried to identify the threat of all the drones, which was almost impossible.

Handing over her TMP and Room Sweeper, Spitfire fallowed the other two in, noting the pure presence of the matrix as they neared the small cabin, it was like Christmas inside as the little drones with there own matrix icons and avatars jetted from place to place, the text message she received was a gentle reminder that the world around her kept going, as Artie would speak, Spitfire sent Robin a matrix only greeting in the way only those that lived in the matrix knew how and introduced herself.
I'm just assuming that deckers and riggers have handles and ways of greeting each other that are different than normal people a sort of hey were in the same club, handshake or something.

So now we escort Nagisa from the Barrens to the Airport.... sounds feasible. She must have some nasty info if the Mafia now want her dead so bad.
The only thing is, we're gonna need better transportation. My bike won't be able to carry anyone with the damage it has taken, and we only have your bike SpitFire.
I can try to convince my fixer to let us "borrow" a car or truck. But that's gonna take a good chunk of the 5 hours and there's no guarantee as I have no funds for it.
Or Robin, if you're ready to 'loan' us iar support, maybe you can let us borrow some wheels from the property, like the pick up your boys brought us here with.

A grin drew on BigJim's face. Throwback was perfectly fine with him. He wasn't much of a rigger.
Now tactic wise, he wasn't known to be the most subtle of a guy, but he witnessed first hand how the mafiosi were dedicated to rid Nagisa's body with bullets, and they weren't to take lightly.
It's hard to tell when they'll attack not knowing what the Mafia know about Nagisa's whereabouts. I'd say we use us as a decoy and send Nagisa in a cab!
Here is the plan: We find the closest subterranean parking where a cab would be willing to pick a customer from. Two of us go pick Nagisa's up at the club, drive to the parking lot and mix and match. Spitfire and your bike drive out, the Gopher with two people drives out. A few minutes later the cab drives out, hopefully all eyes will be on us, not on the cab. We'll leave two drones with the cab, and maybe one of us. The rest of us will also be heading to the airport and bring support in case things go wrong. A few street cameras could be modified to see Nagisa in the gopher...

Your way back to the club is peaceful, you get the feeling that some drones try to follow you but they seem to just continue going above you, looking for something else perhaps? Shortly after you are back on the Skelton where Nagisa and Bruno are still waiting for you.

Spitfire is already at the rendez-vous point, a cab/limo should be on its way too with an escort girl.
Nagisa and Artie will come with me in a gopher, Bruno you can follow with your bike or sit in the trunk, I'd rather have you on your bike.
Once we arrive at the subterranean parking lot, the escort girl and Nagisa will switch places. We keep the escort as decoy for Nagisa.
The Gopher gets out hopefully bringing the attention on it. Meanwhile the cab leaves too, on it's way to the airport. The Gopher and the two bikes will get back to discretely follow the cab. If hell break loose, Nagisa will be safe and on her way. If they catch the subterfuge, we will need to be at proximity to come and assist. The mobility of the Bikes should be enough, while the resistance of the Gopher can be used for cover.
In this last case, the plan is simple the first one that can grab Nagisa, and the other vehicle cover their track.
I can't say it is not dangerous, but we have no way right now to know when they will notice us, nor where they will attack. I'm opened to any suggestion. If you have none, let's get going!

@Big Jim There is nothing that you see, although something feels off to you, like a bad vibe deep in your bones, either you got paranoid or something is wrong.
Nagisa follows her plan and silently move to the bus, Bruno seems a bit distanced perhaps broken. He does not leave his bike and seems not to be at ease. Spitfire is also a bit more quiet than you'd remember her, you can hear the street but there are no cars looking to park and very little movement in the parking lot right now. It seems perfect, perhaps a bit too perfect? Currently there is the Gopher the cab and a few parked vehicles, the cab is drived by a rigger that is driving multiple cabs using the aid of autopilot. It is mostly like that.

It is evident that Bruno is afraid, it is not uncommon being terrified of magic is the common behavior in the Barrens, geek the mage is not a rational strategy, it comes from deep psychological roots. 99% of the mages are less dangerous then a bullet, but that 1% that are more dangerous can be very difficult to handle.

You get in the car and drive toward the airport everything seems to be in order. You look and look and scan the surrounding and the matrix for possible tails. Nothing, nothing at all. The only one a bit odd may be Nagisa, she seems a bit distanced and quiet completely detached from the surrounding. She barely responds when you drop her at the entrance to the airport.

With clear tunnel vision, only looking in the ground and moving unchareceristically slowly, Nagisa walks toward the airport. Her strange behviour alerts security that scan her for drugs, explosives and who knows what else, until they let her move. Before she pass she sends a blank look to Artie the face look normal but there is no soul, no expression in these face. Still job is job and as soon as Nagisa steps into the airport, your comlink buzzes with the a payment from an unknown source.

Standing next to Artie, BigJi can only wonder what's going on in Nagisa's head. He didn't know her enough to know if she was pscho or bi-polar or something, but something was strange nevertheless.

@Artie Nagisa arrives on terminal she does not need to show a ticket, just a fingerprint and blood sample needed to verify SIN's, she places her finger on the device and passes the security. Looking at her you are certain that something is wrong you just cannot pin point what. Then it hits you Nagisa is right handed. However, she just bought a drink and is holding it with the wrong hand, someone is going to amesterdam but desite her physic you remain uncertain if it is her or not. It is a bit difficult to verify because Nagisa disappears on her way to the dock. Past security you cannot go without extensive SIN scan and a plane ticket.
