It getting close to an other round of 'Pixie with Guns' Questions to start coming in... judging by the almost 3 month cycle they seem to follow. So instead of yet another 5 pages of people just not following the HATE on this topic... I thought I would do it in the MOST simplistic way I know how...
With Pictures!!!
First we know, We know that a Pixie is "Just under half a meter tall"...
So here is a 47cm tall "Pixie" for you all.
(Yes, I know the picture doesn't have wings. Bite Me. It was free...)

A nice shiny .380 auto colt and the 7.65mm Basque give you an Idea just how big a "hold out" is to a pixie....

Both the Luger and the Berretta are almost a third the size of the Pixie!!

Well, you don't get much heavier then the Auto-mag 3 for a Pistol (Size wise).
and the .454 mag Casuell is a good stand in for the Big Bad 'Hawk...
AND... as you can see.. the Pixie is packing them.

personally i think pixies should be limited to light pistols AT BEST.

I guess a Pixie could use an Autopistol with Foregrip like a Shouldermounted Weapon
( The one Pixie ever played used Spells)

Yeah I was thinking a light pistol with a custom stock, grip and forehandle would work.
A heavy pistol's recoil would knock that little flying insect onto it's back and down the hall!

There's no way a light pistol could even work (did you look at the pictures :p). A holdout, maybe, but even the recoil would knock the thing onto its back

Flying characters and guns in general shouldn't work out well.
But yeah a small pistol with tiny combat grip, tiny shoulder stock, fired with both hands would be feasible. Getting a functioning hand gun down to doll sized is possible. Breach loaded .22s aren't much more than 3 inches long. Wildly inaccurate, only holds one or two shots, small caliber, and you're not sticking any kind of fancy high tech high velocity rounds in a weapon that small. But yeah, think .22 Derringer, and it's still going to be about as long as a Pixie's forearm.
Also, keep in mind some of the larger magazines are going to be as long as a Pixie's leg. All very silly.
Either be a Pixie mage or a go Monowhip.

And this is why I usually make the suggestion that any pixie weaponry should either be drone mounted, a drone itself, or fired with the aid of spells like levitate or magic fingers.

With all the weird gear verisimilitude issues (which are absent from the rules, because of course) pixies probably just shouldn't ever have been written as playable.
IMO nothing of value would be lost.

what about a pixie with the heavy weapons skill specialization [ heavy pistol ] they know how to brace for the recoil.

but a roto drone with a lmg mounted to it is ok because it has a body rating of 3 oh and I can mount another one cause the rules state:
Treat its Body as 3 higher
than its actual Rating for determining how many weapon
mounts or customizations it can integrate.

Metasapiants are the extreme edge of what is playable... and unfortunaely they've just gone "This is what it is and how to create one." rather than "Therese are the issues playing this Metasapiant, this is what you will need to do to work around these issues."

ASSIST Trodes forget which book it was in but it basically said that ASSIST in SR3 basically did away with the whole issue of this language business or not talking since you can have the machine speak for you at the speed of thought then SR5 happend

I mean Pixie + Gun + Gunnery + Smart firing platform should work.

Pixies w/guns is a bit silly. Run Faster does share where in the world Pixies get SINs, and I guess that infers that it will be difficult to play a pixie in most locale, even with a fake SIN. ("really? You are ALL French tourists here in the Seattle Barrens?"
But not counting the difficulty a pixie shadowrunner would have just existing in the Shadows, pixies can be playable magicians. And with a little thought and w/ Rigger 5.0, it's probably easier to make some kind of flying drone with a gun that can a pixie pilot (High Reaction/Agility with Pilot/Gunnery, maybe an adept to boot), or a full on rigger (High Reaction/Logic with Pilot/Gunnery). They could look rediculous saddled up on it, or sit inside to be more inconspicuous (though let's hope that drone doesn't get shot at). They can't default easily, but jack of all trades and high attribute capacity (which pixies have) can mitigate without too much investment. Pixies are smaller than a large pizza, ya? Maybe even a suped up Renraku Pelican could do the trick. It already comes with the storage compartment. ;) Or a Roto-drone with a little rigger cocoon in a w/built-in trodes?
Edit: I'll add even with Body 1 and Str 1, Pixies with high reaction, an unwared pixie can get their physical limit up to 4 without issue. That's higher than a lot of human/elf non-combat focused character end up getting. 'Wared/adept boosted pixies could be stronger. I know they are small, but stats are stats. Maybe they pack a lot of muscle into those little frames, you know, magic?
Also, I think NeoNet and Evo also give corporate SINs. Maybe they make modified weapons? Pixies aren't going to be able to haul around a gun in a holster all the time like other characters. But like the assassin example, maybe they pull it out of their little pixie bag, set up a shot, shoot, pack up, and go. Trolls get away with using holdouts on the other side of the coin without too much fanfare.
