Title: Into the Chaos - Geek the Mage [IC]
Post by: gilga on <09-18-15/1735:05>
Wednesday 24, December 2075, 15:30 .
Tonight was a quiet night in Seattle, the knight errant got their budget increase and announced the formation of a new autonomous unit called shadow squad to combat the new menace. “In 30 days for now, we will double our power, and make Seattle a city of law and order and security.” was the quote in the paper. There is also much buzz about what mega’s are going to equip this new shadow force.

Also in the news is that the Salish-Shidhe Council is closing it borders with Seattle. Traffic will now go through extensive medical tests and the number of border passage permits was cut in half. This started a mass of border riots that were very brutally suppressed by the UCAS army.

In the shadow, but not in any formal news a massive gang war initiated showing unprecedented degrees of violence in the south of the Barrens near Renton as a new gang war sprung between the Rusted Stilettos and The spiders. Two gangs that share the same space and were former allies. The number of wounded and casualties is catastrophic and shadow clinics all over are overflowed with patients and struggling for supplies.

@Maxwell your fixer contacts you - “There is some rogue mage to the north of the barrens, I am sending you yo Gerald the leader of the red hot nukes. Should be the high risk high reward kind.”

@Serge,Crossbow- Your clinic like most other shadow clinic is overflowing with wounded gangers, money is flowing in and business were never better but you need some medical supplies and these are difficult to come by with hospitals playing bunker due to the humanitarian crisis in the border. Hospitals themselves are overwhelmed with legit citizens and cannot spare anything. You need medical supplies and you need them NOW, if you are to stay in business.  The black market seems like the only option for that, but do you know anyone that can import this kind of goods?.

Maxwell was enjoying a nice cup of cheap soykaff when he got the call.  Feeling the dark black liquid pour into him into as he guzzles it down.  Enjoying the rush of caffeine as it surges into his body and mind.  A sly grin darts across Maxwell's face as he now has something to do with his new energy.  Grandiose thoughts of destruction and mayhem brew within Maxwell's brain as he imagines what fighting another mage would be like.  Images of hellfire raining down from the sky and the earth cracking open is what Maxwell hopes will happen.  After a few minutes Maxwell snaps out of his daydream and responds back.

@Prop Joe - <<Alright i'll check it out.>>

He dons his lucky black leather jacket and makes sure he has his essentials and what not.  He heads over to his bathroom mirror and makes sure everything is in its place.  Once he was finished, Maxwell walks out the door and takes a deep breath of the foul outside air.  "Smells like a fine day to fuck some shit up."  Maxwell lets out a wracking cough and makes his way north to meet the leader of the Red Hot Nukes.

@Maxwell as you arrive to the location indicated what greets you is a hastily built  2 meter wall, built out of rusted old cars, construction waste and plastics. It is basically made of reused Barrens polluted junk. The wall is filled of firing positions and sand begs and you can spot a guard every several meters. Inside the wall there is an 8 story building that also seems fully fortified and you can spot hunting guns pointing out from some of the windows and camouflage cloths that make it difficult to spot if these guns are manned or not.  Before the wall there is barb wire, and only a narrow spiral path leads to the entrance after going back and forth 3 times across the barb wires.

As you approach an AR dwarf is projected from the floor to 'greet' you. "We are armed and dangerous, Go find less organized neighborhoods to prey on!"

Maxwell bellows out a few coughs as he surveys the place.  Taking note of potential sharpshooters that could gun him down.  A frown appears on Maxwell's lips at the sight of the projection.  "What a nice warm welcome."  Maxwell slowly throws up his hands to show he's not holding any weapons.  And just as slowly he lowers them and grabs the sides of his jacket to lift them up.  Revealing that he has no concealed weapons either, aside from his knife he keeps just in case he needs a can opener.  Maxwell lets his jacket sides fall back in place and speaks in a serious tone: "I've no interest in robbing you.  I just have some business to discuss with Gerald."

@The AR dwarf say "You are the mojoman aren't you? come right in and careful not to touch the barb wire it is rigged to explode on touch."

Trying to stifle a laugh from being called a "mojoman", Maxwell walks past the barricade and traps and proceeds into the towering building.

@Maxwell as you enter the building you meet more heavily armed dwarf, one of them, that is older and unarmed presents himself "Hello Sovereign, I am called Gerald, I brought you here to have a look on one of the Zombies that roam the city. We think that they may be some evil spirits like Shedim or some other magical trick. I can pay you 1k  just to have a look and tell me what you think."

For Devon Harris, Wednesday was a regular day, when the third banger appeared at the door before the sun started trying to burn through the perpetual haze, it was clear that something big was going down.  He called in the full staff by 0800 and around noon he was finishing his second surgery, removing 2 bullets from the leg of a kid half his age that had cussed him worse than he had ever heard.

Doctor Harris, Devon’s dad, stopped him on the way back into pre-op, “I got the next one, Devon, take a break and ‘Ring the Bell’, see if we can get some help for the overnight.  Also, check the inventories, we are already drawing on the secondary sources (“The shadow clinic” Devon thought), we are going to run of gauze and antibiotics by morning, and I don’t even want to think about what we are already out of.”

Ringing the Bell involved contacting the dozen or so medically trained personnel that his father would trust to change an IV in his clinic and a few street docs that ran their own shops in the Barrens.  The reputable folks, Harris didn’t do business with organleggers.  After a half an hour of making calls, it was clear they were in a real crisis.  He had taken on three new patients and had gotten no assistance what-so-ever lined up, everyone was swamped and running on empty.  Devon couldn’t imagine what these people (He refused to call them colleagues, even though they thought of him that way.  It wasn’t something he had earned yet) were going through, he knew the Harris Clinic was better supported than most.

He realized he was going to have to get dirty, he contacted TwoToes and put the word out.  His dad was paying top dollar and he himself was ready to go ‘find’ the stuff they needed.

@Flatline - "Looking for some medical supplies, this is especially hard to find with both legitimate and shadow clinics struggling and trade is sluggish. I have a source but it may be a long shot, I can try to take you across the Salish border with the Yakuza,  got word that they are raiding some facility and are in need of medics.

Perhaps you can raid the clinic of that facility while they are doing their own *thing* and treat them if they are hurt. Would you like me to broker such deal? I would not send you to the Yaks but they are the only ones that can cross the border and there is no shortage across the border. "

"I'm down, when's the meet?  You think they want to double up?" Flatline replied, thinking about Serge, a runner he knew that ran a little clinic just outside the Oasis.  Devon knew that, like him, Serge's medical supplies were running short.

@Crossbow TwoToes  answers "If there is one thing I am certain is that the Yaks are so aggressive that they can never have enough medics. Especially in recent years as they somehow managed to build some serious private army. I am forwarding you a comcode - Deep Blue she is an independent fixer. "

A look of bewilderment and excitement was on Maxwell's face.  Here he was asking around and searching nonstop for one of these monsters.  He would never have expected to be called to see one.  The joy doesn't last long as the skepticism starts to set in.  "I've been looking forever for one of these revenants to fight and now i'm being asked to examine one.  It's probably nothing anyway, maybe some voodoo or a clever animate spell.  Also what the hell is a Shedim?"  A new question burns within Maxwell's mind and believes the aged dwarf will have some answers.

@Gerald - "Well for starters, it's nice you know my name already.  I myself am curious to know what kind of undead these creatures are, but I got to be honest with you.  I've no clue as to what a "Shedim" is.  Is that a dwarven word?  Also another question would be.  Why call me to do this?  I'm pretty sure their are other more scholarly magical types who might be better at this.  I'm in the business of burning stuff and combat and being an arcane bodyguard.

@Serge "Hello sir, this is Devon Harris, Dr. Maxwell Harris' son.  I know with every going down in the Barrens, if you are like us you are knee deep in blood and running low on bandages.  I can't help with the former, but I have a line on the latter and could use somebody to watch my back.  You interested?"

On his secondary comm he contacts the fixer

@Deep Blue "Name's Flatline, heard you might be looking to hire some medical professionals, I might know one or two.  Any chance i can get an interview?"

Finally getting a chance to sit down after a long day in the clinic, Serge sets the apartment's server drones to take care of suitable tasks downstairs as he pours a quick synth-ale. Noting the message on the comm-unit, he sends back, <<It is difficult getting supplies, but I do need to ask exactly what's involved before I commit to anything.>>

@Maxwell - Gerald tells you "In that case I will not pay you, but you can have a look anyhow if you came all this way, thanks for being honest with me." He brings you to a room with one of this zombies, clearly dead and decaying and smelly too.

@Flatline - Deep Blue texts >> I needed you to contact me like yesterday or the week before.  Can you meet me like in 20 minutes? Let me know where you are and I'll be there.

Maxwell doesn't even wince at the corpse's stench, he's all too familiar with that kind of putrid foulness.  Maxwell focuses on the zombie in front of him, opening his third eye to peer into that thing's rotted soul.

@Deep Blue "How about a neutral location.  I will be at the Banshee in one hour, look for the stethoscope. "

(OOC: The Banshee, Seattle 2072 p.118)

Flatline will be there in 30 minutes, and get a table. in 55 minutes, if everything looks safe, he will pull the scope from his pocket and put it on the table.

@Maxwell the 'Zombie' is dual natured and not very long living. It has an aura and does not look like a spirit, it is a spell, no wait something more than a spell a ritual perhaps and it decay over time.

@Flatline ">> Roger that as you wish I'll be there in 15. I am a VIP there just ping me when you'd like"
OOC: Feel free to take the meeting to the Banshee and to describe it the way you see fits.

Maxwell switches perception back to meat space and shakes his head in disappointment.  He turns to Gerald and says:  "Welp it isn't an evil spirit or that shedim thing.  It's magical alright but that undead there is hollow.  Probably some necromantic spell or ritual used to create and animate these things en mass.  Perhaps some necromancer somewhere just making soldiers, preparing for war or a hostile take over of the barrens.  On the bright side it seems these guys don't have a very long shelf life.  It's decaying and rapidly."

@Serge "Understood, since I only have the barest of intel myself, why don't you join me at the meet and we can find out together?  Be at the Banshee in an hour.

<<I'll meet you there.>> Serge sends back. He still can't get used to doing 'business' in those seedy 'asshole of the world' establishments, but he reminds himself that it's an unfortunate nature of the beast of doing work in the gray areas of society.

Why did I ever leave that position at the hospital in Bellevue?
He thinks to himself, I should have at least just transferred to Cougar Mountain hospital instead.

Gerald say "Well... this is reassuring. If you can figure where these come from and... make them not come from there I'll appreciate it greatly. Can even pay quite nicely. "
Title: Re: Into the Chaos - Geek the Mage [IC]
Post by: Mulcarn on <09-22-15/0530:04>
Maxwell laughs insidiously and says: "Well I have no problem hunting down and killing a necromancer, but their is a few things I need to know before I agree to that.  The first one question is how much are you going to pay me if I succeed?  Second question is where did you find that one skulking about?  Maxwell motions over at the tied up zombie.  "Because as of right now I don't know where to look beside checking every cemetery and sewer tunnel in the barrens."

Gerald say "They wander around here at night spooking the crap out of people. They are not very stealthy but somehow people find them terrifying at night and cannot follow them. As I say it is not my problem but I'll have to fish around for a reward. You'll have to know something before I start running, if you discover their layer the compensation should be high enough so that you can lead a group of professionals to exterminate the threat and still come out ahead. "

The idea of leading a mercenary party to combat an undead army and necromancer king invigorates Maxwell to no end.  Smiling grimly he says: "Don't worry, i'm not afraid of a few zombies.  Seeing as how I don't have much else to do I think i'll stick around until nightfall and try to see where these creatures are coming from."

When Flatline sees Serge walk into the descriptively nondescript bar, he waves him over to his table.  Flatline has a draft beer, but it looks like he has been nursing the glass for awhile.

They use the time before the fixer arrives to compare notes on the situation affecting their clinics, and to get a sense of the priorities they should be looking for in the way of supplies.

@Serge, Flatline Deep Blue is a tall orc lady, she wears bikers clothes, that include a full leather suit and a leather jacket and has dark blue hair, and black glasses. She takes off her glasses when she notice you and continue to your table without waiting to your approval. "Name is Deep Blue, what do you want?" she said.

Devon seemed a bit affronted, "What is it that you want?  I was told to look you up as a source of work, my friend and I both specialize in making sure people make it back from runs, or at the very least, keep them alive long enough to accomplish their mission.  Is this something you are in need of?"

Whatever the target is, you are just hitch hikers if you are in it is from your own motives, I only give you a ride. "

@Serge, Flatline Seeing your confused faces Deep Blue said "Look I am not going to hide it, this mission is so sensitive that it is best if we do not have any form of connection. No money transfer no nothing. It is a raid on a well defensed military compound with some veteran ex-military soldiers. This is not your average gang troubles this is the real deal, while I have some free space in my choppers and I anticipate that your services may be required the only thing I can motivate you with is loot.

Everyone in this gig is in for personal reasons be these reasons what they are and we've been planning it for few weeks now. We leave in a few hours so there is not much time for soul searching, either you are with me or not. I can supply you some heavy armor for the mission and you should be able to use the chaos to plunder quite a bit. They have quite extensive medical facilities there. There is no 'Jhonson' to this gig I just provide some logistics and the ride and I am in that for the loot. They have some things that will blow your mind. We are above 20 people with no paper trace that connects us. This is what I can offer you tonight and I really do not have time or money of my own to negotiate pay. If you have questions feel free to ask and I'll answer what I can, but I too need to get ready for my big night.

I can only tell you the specifics once on route, but once on route we cannot turn back for you. I become the most important woman in there because without me you cannot go back home.   "

"You know," Serge says, "A military facility, while dangerous, does offer some things absolutely unavailable under normal circumstances. Provided I am given more detail on the way, I will help out with medical treatment, but without money I won't fire a shot unless it's in my own defense."

"Also," he adds, "if you could manage getting a remote link-up to one of their cargo choppers to swipe that, I would be more than willing to consider that ample pay."

Maxwell was outside the building but still within the fort when he got the call.  Smoking to pass the time.  Taking a long drag of his cigarette, Maxwell notices the caller is a pretty girl.  He mumbles to himself: "A lovely woman in leather, oh that's trouble."  Breathing out the fetid smoke and coughing a few times as well.  Maxwell was a little annoyed he was being disturbed when he was getting ready for his undead hunt.  Reluctantly he texts her back.

@ Deep Blue - <<I'm in the middle of something so can it wait?  Also you never said what i'm gonna be doing or what skill of mine you need."

Maxwell goes over the text in his mind.  "Fuck, that sounds too damn cool to pass up.  High background count?  Higher than it already is?  Where am I going, the Heart of the Blight?  Maxwell turns around and looks at the Red Hot Nukes HQ and mumbles to himself:  "I guess solving the mystery of the undead plague will have to wait."  He responds back to her.

Maxwell stretches out a bit and prepares for the walk.  Leaving through the gate of the corroded fortress back onto the streets of the barrens.  Passing alleyways and building corners and navigating the mess of the sprawls.  Occasionally seeing pedestrians going about their daily activities and only passively wondering if they are the slightest bit prepared for the hell to come.  Dark thoughts of a zombie apocalypse dwell within Maxwell's mind.  Images of the dead rising to snatch and devour the living or to add to the army of the hidden necromancer king.

Wasn't before too much longer that Maxwell arrived at the entrance of the New Hilton and his daydream had ended.  A nice getaway resort hotel for the rich, even has a bunch of fountains in the front with lights and all.  A goofy grin appeared on Maxwell's face due to the fact that he was only here to help raid some military warehouse.  He casually walked inside in his normal slouched posture.  The lobby was empty except for Maxwell and a receptionist who seemed busy at the moment.  Taking the opportunity to not be bothered he quickly made his way to the door that led to the stairs.  As he opened the door he let out a heavy groan as he saw what appeared to be a never ending flight of steps.  Begrudgingly he made his way up each and every one of them until he finally reached the top.

He opened the door that led outside to the landing pad, surprisingly it wasn't locked or anything.  Maxwell could see a great portion of the barrens from this view.  His only thoughts on the matter was that this place was a shit hole.  Maxwell laughs at his own gloomy joke and looks around to see if Deep Blue is here or not.

This just keeps getting worse.

Flatline is looking at this lunatic across the table from him, describing every detail of the WORST shadowrun imaginable.

"Let me see if I understand you correctly, almost 2 dozen folks, complete strangers, are essentially going to assault what has to be a defended military facility by helicopter.  No one is getting paid for this, we are supposed to loot the joint profitably to be compensated.  We, as your medical team, who you have said are incredibly important, have no intel on the threats or even the people we are supposed to support, unless we accept, and then only in route with no preparation.  And you are rushing us?"  Flatline drains his glass.

He looks at Serge, "Are you seriously considering this?  I never pegged you for suicide, but I know much easier methods."
Title: Re: Into the Chaos - Geek the Mage [IC]
Post by: All4BigGuns on <09-25-15/0003:27>
Looking at Flatline, Serge says simply, "It's a damn big risk, but I'd imagine that with some of the stuff I could pilfer, I might be able to grow some bio implants. Maybe even turn the clinic into a hospital. And if she's amenable to remote-controlling one of their cargo choppers for me, that's a medical airlift and possibly an ambulance with a transport loaded onto it."

He gives a grin and adds, "No one ever accused me of being sane."

@Serge and Flatline Deep Blue say "Consider me an organizer, not just one chopper many, and cars and trucks and whatever you can imagine. There are representatives from the cooperate world,  from criminal syndicates and some from the shadows like us. The strike was planned for a long while, and actual preparations are several weeks. The window of opportunity is closing this is happening tonight with or without you and I cannot change the schedule. The thing is with an operation this complex there are cancellations, unexpected obstacles and this is why I even talk to you instead of going over all my vehicles again and again and clearing my head. I could always use a good medics around - you can imagine that this is a high risk gig.  I have a wasp that was custom modified with hidden locations and extensive engine job to be able to carry four or maybe five people where normally only one would fit. I have places for the two of you if you want.

They are completely autonomous there and it means that their medical facility has to be well equipped with medical drones, expert systems, equipment and evacuation vehicles you name it. If we pull it off the reward is big, and like I said there this is a high risk gig."

@Maxwell -  The door is locked, but there is a tiny Micro camera. Once it spots you the door unlocks. On the roof there is a wasp helicopter in KE colors, it is armed and seem brand new. A large man perhaps an orc wearing full body armor in KE colors say,"oh you are Sovereign, I am Ralph, suit up"  and he removes another full body armor suit along with an helmet and chemical seal from the helicopter. "We are still waiting, but you should ware this, you will not survive the ride without it."

(You can talk to Ralph but I am still waiting for some things to clear before I can move on the scene.)

This is going to go SOO horribly wrong

"If you are going I will back you up, getting another hospital going in the barrens would take a lot of heat off us.  I am still not really clear on how this is going to work, but it sounds like people are going to need the help."

Flatline shakes his head, clearly not sold on the concept, but resigned to follow Serge's decision.

Maxwell didn't like the look of the armor, he feels it goes against his style.  Considering the job he's on he doesn't have much choice if he likes it or not.  Taking off his leather jacket and folding it, he sets it on the ground next to him.  He inspects the armor and helmet and tries to figure out if this is a wise choice or not.  Shrugging he quickly puts it on, doing his best to adapt to the funkiness of this new suit.  When that was all done he puts on the helmet and makes sure its on properly.  Maxwell stretches a bit and tries to acclimate to his new digs.  After all that he asks Ralph: "I'm kinda fond of this jacket here."  Maxwell points at his jacket on the ground.  "Is their a way to safely store it on the helicopter?"

@Big guns, Flatline. If you take the job you are instructed to quickly make your way to the New Hilton, on the roof you find a modified wasp chopper that awaits you. Deep Blue is not there but there are two figures in full body armors (Sovereign) and somebody that calls himself Ralph.
They ask you to suit up, and offer you two set of KE style full body armors.

With the helmet on there is no way to tell who is under the suit, even the voice made is artificial as the suits are chemically sealed. Ralph shows you the wasp and opens up smuggling compartments near the engine with ropes for you to hold so you somehow fit inside the little chopper, this is one piece of tight design and you are not going to be able to move much during the flight. "This is where you ride in", he say and explain how to hold the ropes. "You will have to be in full body armor otherwise the engine gasses and temperature will kill you. Also you are flying inside the engine so try not to touch anything. If you mess with the engine we crush. We are leaving once you are ready."

@Maxwell consider yourself part of the situation, and let's assume that they come. If they don't than we'll edit.

To Maxwell's surprise he sees his doctor pal and that medic guy from last night.  "I feel like the Black Knight has a hand in this somehow.  Oh well, at least if i'm shot up i'll have these two to heal me right after."  Maxwell greeted the two medics with a sinister tone and said: "Ready to tear some shit up."

"Hey there! No I'm not, I am here to keep you from getting torn up." Devon replied, "We didn't get a chance to talk the other night, I'm Flatline."

When he gets the instruction, he looks even more dubious, if that is possible.  He puts on the gear and straps himself in, checking to make sure he has the collapsed duffel  that will make this worth while.

Hearing Sovereign's voice, Serge replies, "I don't intend on 'tearing anything up', no." With that he goes ahead and dons the armor and boards the aircraft.

Ralph instructs you how to hold yourself and warn you not to make any sudden moves. It is not long before you are on the air and you get a very intimate look of the engine, including rotating parts and fuel being burned. Your helmets include an AR interface and Ralph show you a map.

He say >> Flatline, and Serge you probobly want to go to the hospital. Sovereign I do not know where you want to go, but keep an eye on our ride so that we can get back. It is going to be the real deal of prison attack but we are just on the rim these guys are carrying insane firepower over there so try not to get into troubles. Go in steal what you can and keep our ride safe. We'll be disguised as KE troops but we expect the prisoners to be violent and dangerous so should they break out it will not keep you safe. I am arriving as a backup for a prison riot that is about to start. We are landing just near the front gate. Go in be quick and go out. Good luck.

Maxwell started laughing a little that quickly turned into a slight coughing fit at the responses from the other two.  He jokingly says back to them: "More fun for me then."  Maxwell directs his next words at Flatline saying: "Hail and well met, you can call me Sovereign."  Once the introductions were done, Ralph started speaking and directing the run.  After he was finished Maxwell climbed into the aircraft and spoke to everyone.

@Everyone - "I don't mind looking after the wasp but I can't sit back and let you guys have all the fun.  I need to be where the fight is thickest and where the battle is raging on."

Devon was not happy.

"You mean to tell me we are not really supporting anything, that the two of us are supposed to raid a prison hospital on our own?" Flatline said in response to the plan.

When he hears Maxwell's comment he almost chokes, "So rather than covering our backs and chilling in the getaway ride, you are going to leave us to go get into a firefight in the middle of a prison riot?  Just so you all understand, when this goes south, I am a vapor trail."

"If things go that bad," Serge says, "I'm right behind you."

Maxwell laughs goofy at Flatline's words.  Seeing as he was worried and all, Maxwell tried to reassure his new partner by saying: "Oh no you got it all wrong chummer.  You two won't be going in alone."  A big goofier grin was on Maxwell's face as he explained himself, although it was completely obscured by the helmet.  He further adds: "You'll have me looking after you while you raid the hospital, and if you have any doubts about your survival well just ask Serge and he'll tell you how great I am.  I'm a powerful mage and arcane bodyguard, Our little sky cruiser here is gonna be well defended while we jump into the middle of the fray."

So great the last time I saw you I was helping you keep you intestines from unraveling

Flatline managed to keep that little gem to himself, but just barely.  Instead, he pointed out a flaw in Sovereign's thought process.  "So instead of the two of us, it is the two of us with astral overwatch.  Yeah, that makes a difference.  And who is this 'we' you speak of jumping frayward with?  I hope it isn't supposed to be me."

Maxwell reiterates on the subject: "Oh I won't be prowling around the astral while you guys do all the cool stuff.  I'll be right there next to you."  Maxwell's tone and voice changed from happy-go-lucky to grim and serious as he says: "This run will take place during a prison riot, and that means no matter where we are their is probably going to be an angry mob of prisoners waiting to tear us apart because we look like their oppressors."  Maxwell points at the armor all of us are wearing.  "Or we could be very unlucky and have to face the real Knight Errant.  So prepare yourself for fact that there is a high chance of us getting into a firefight."

"Yeah, he isn't likely to just be wandering the astral," Serge says, "You might have to watch for big bada booms of fire from him though."

"Speaking of fiery explosions, I believe it's time to summon my trademark elemental."  With the inspiration from Serge and his own love of destruction, Maxwell echoes out to the astral plane of fire in hopes of summoning a powerful spirit to aid him tonight.  "Glorious spirit of uncontrolled rage and power, will thouest assist me in creating some havoc tonight?"

Drain Resist (http://orokos.com/roll/329940): 11d6t5 4

With that Sovereign takes 4 Stun and fails to summon anything

After a few moments of silence and awkward waiting, Maxwell becomes increasingly angry.  "Damnation I will not be ignored!"  Maxwell shouts back into the astral with rage and passion.  "Spirit of flame and hellfire, turn to me!"

After about an hour that felt a lot more than a lifetime as you were flying inside the engine the chopper touches ground right next to the main gate. Ralph text you "There are many knights here, try not to be seen when you leave the chopper." He hops on and hugs one of the knights, "Problems at paradise" he say sarcastically and the two hop on to their way, this was the last you seen Ralph before he got mixed with many almost identical knights all with the same kind of body armor.

Being somewhat fatigued from his summoning problems, Maxwell tries to stealthily get out of the aircraft.

Sneak Test (http://orokos.com/roll/330008): 6d6t5 0

Once he was on the ground he waited for his partners to leave the vehicle as well.  In the meantime he sets up a task for his new elemental: "Ragepyre I want you to watch over the wasp and scare or kill anyone who isn't me, Serge or Flatline if they try take it.  I might have need of you elsewhere so be ready to come when I call."

Flatline extracts himself from his compartment, feeling completely awkward in the heavy armor.  He makes a point of tagging Serge and Sovereign on his comm then does his best imitation of a plant until he has somewhere to go.

Disembarking from the rotor craft, Serge says to his companions, "Let's do what we can to blend in until we can get to medical, and let's get there before the shit hits the fan." With that, he moves forward attempting to get out of sight of the chopper and where he can do just that--blend in with the guards.

As you land one of the KE looks surprised at you... "You all came out of THAT?... come with me to the hospitals our boys are getting hammered over there. One of the prisoner got a way and summoned these things. Come follow me!"

Maxwell grimly says to Serge: "It seems the shit has already hit the fan."  Once he was done with his quip he turns to the knight and says: "Sure thing, but could you tell us what we're fighting on the way there."

When you go outside of the hospital you see the most unusual sight, a bunch of knights are shooting at thin air, your instructor arrives them and takes cover. He also start shooting at something that you cannot sense. Serge and Flatline may find it disturbing that with so many people shooting at the sky some actually hit ambulance drones and destroy them. These make many runs from the prison roof to the hospital roof.

If you get to the hospital you'll have to roll reaction + edge not to be hit by some random bullet. People are shooting all over the place.

Maxwell stares at the scene with confusion and disappointment.  "The fuck is going on here?  These idiots are fighting thin air.  Maybe this is a diversion created for the job."  He shrugs at the thought and turns to his companions.

@Serge and Flatline - "Race you guys there."

Maxwell makes a quick dash to the hospital, doing his best to not be shot.

@All You arrive at the hospital unhurt. On the entrance you notice 3 wounded, they were tossed from the top floor, or worse jumped.  A forth one joins them as you arrive he jumped from the roof you are sure of it. They cry in pain and scream "Demons Demons!"

Crossbow maybe hurt but I want to keep going.

@All the hospital is near you and other than Flatline injury nothing prevents you from going inside. There are three things of particular interests.
1. Emergency Room.
2. Surgery Rooms
3. Nanites Lab.

If there is something else you want let me know, but I want to resolve Flatline's injury before we continue.

Maxwell thinks long and hard and reflects on the situation before him.  He had hoped to arrive to a grand scene of carnage and battle, with Knight Errant on one side and him and his homies on the other.  To his eternal annoyance and dismay that was not the case.  Bored he looks at the knights on the ground spouting nonsense about demons that aren't there and the hospital with which he has no stake in.  Defeated his turns back around in the direction of the wasp and tells his partners: "Change of plans, think i'll go hang out at the craft and wait for you guys to do... whatever it is you're gonna do.  If you need any help just give me a call and i'll send some elemental backup."

Lazily and a little slumped over he walks back to the getaway ride and waits for his pals to finish up.
