Title: KS - Luma Dice
Post by: AJCarrington on <12-27-15/1038:15>
A neat KS:

Luma Dice by Min Mendis (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1372946489/luma-dice)

Interesting and love the concept, but the finishing doesn't do much for me.

It is interesting, but I agree the brushed aluminium looks kind of rough, especially the first image at the top, and imagine will get worse as time goes by.

I would also have suggested having it only light up the top facing but this was probably easier and the flashing as it rolled might have been bad for some folk.

Yeah, I don't like that "brushed" metal look; it looks like I didn't take care of my dice and scratched them all up. For metal dice, I prefer that smooth, shiny look.

or so shiny (http://www.shapeways.com/product/RPD2VM5W9/honey-comb-die?li=marketplace&optionId=57414356) you need shades (and maybe your head examined if you seriously want to pay 12K British (that's $17.7 K US for a lone die.).
Also not a big fan of reading the honeycomb hideout sequence though if I could pay that price I could probably afford hiring someone to roll and read them for me. :P

Now I have to buy those, because, Firefly! ;D I have no idea how a Firefly product flew under my radar; normally I stay on top of those products.  :-[
