Does anyone have experience with the CCG?
I've seen cards on eBay, but never in a store.
Is there a way to play online like MTG?
Let's talk Shadowrun CCG
-
Wow.
I mean. WOW. Haven't thought about it in years. AFAIK, there's no online game. It wasn't all that successful when it came out (along with the other 200 CCG that tried to ride Magic's success). I remember buying some packs and looking through the rules, but never playing a game (and the cards are long gone).

Being the collector (read: SRHoarder) that I am, I would love to get my hands on some.
Seeing this gives me hope of a way to play online:

Bull and I have a few deck on hand and break it out from time to time. It still holds up relatively well actually. Actually we did a "tourney" of sorts at GenCon a coupla time and were surprised at the turnout (30 people that one year) who were still playing or came out to learn.
Having an online version would rock; but it needs to be made so that you can play up to 5 people or so, the game really supported that well!

I'm not certain if the online version is still supported, actually. It was a part of a website that specialized in online versions of older CCGs a bunch of years back, but I think it ended up dying. I'm not certain. Logan (Who runs/ran the Big Knobi Klub website) was the man handling that. I should poke him and point him here.
And yes, the game is quite fun. :)

I've always wanted to give it a shot, but never had much luck finding it anywhere.

I collected pretty solidly when it first came out. Funny enough, the very first thing I ever did at a con for FASA was running an SRTCG tourney at Origins.
About 3 or 4 years ago, there was a web site that was going out of business, and they had the SRTCG stuff clearanced at like $5 a box, so I bought some more then. I still kick myself for not buying a LOT more. *sigh*
At Gen Con a couple years ago, as Caine mentioned, we had a big get together one night, and a bunch of us broight extra decks and gave them out and taught folks to play. It was a lot of fun.

why was i not aware of this?! i love ccgs and i love shadowrun! its like peanut butter and chocolate! when did this come out and where can i get it?
-
It was first released back around
94-96... I can't remember exactly when 1997 (thank you Wikipedia). Of course, that means that you're going to have to hunt for it.

Wasn't stocked well either from what I remember. Still have some decks, but not nearly as many cards as MTG. Was a really cool card game that differed in nice was from all the other ccgs that were out back then.
-
I purchased quite a few of the cards on eBay some time back. I love all things Shadowrun (I even have some of the action figures for their figure game), so I picked up quite a few of the cards. Interesting premise, but I don't recall how well the rules work (I haven't ever actually played a game of SR CCG).

eBay seems like the best bet to get cards. I hit up a few shops in town and came up empty handed.
I'd really like to play online!

Speaking of which, what is that board posted earlier? The one that looks like the Seattle skyline with cards on it?

Found it on Google Image Search.

It was very similar to the Star Trek CCG is all I can remember.
-
It wasn't a board. It was a program that could play various TCGs (And had custom skins for some of them). I think that project is dead and gone though.

i had the whole set of battletech ccg, lol

Doing quick look on ebay right now someone is selling both an unopened Booster box and Starter box, would never have that kind of self control LOL.
Speaking of cards for the game though, if anyone has a Flatline card that they would be willing to part with. I'd be happy to purchase from you.
I used to have a few, but seem to have misplaced them when I moved into my house.
I think Mr. Bradstreet stole my character concept for that card ;)

yea, i'd be interested in getting a set based on the worthyness of the images alone, lol

I have quite a few and just snagged three of the booster boxes and three starter sets. I'm only missing a few, mostly the Corp cards. Also there was an Underworld set. I've only seen one booster on eBay a few weeks ago. I actually started hunting them up when Bull commented about it over on rpg.net a month or so ago.
