Remove them from the game because their rules make them ridiculous?

"I break into the node.  I put a Data Bomb on the Alert icon.  I put Data Bombs on the ICs Black Hammer programs.  I drop my Stealth.  Everyone explodes."

Going after a encrypted node/file and that has a databomb attached or something?

i don't think databombs detonate until after the decrypt in complete and one tries to access the protected icon. And spotting them is a matrix perception test. Just make a habit of inspecting before accessing, just like checking a door or storage device for tripwires before opening.

You use the Defuse programme/Complex Form.

Just to be a little more specific (and because like my GM, I like quoting the RAW), under the listing of Hacking Programs:

Quote from: SR4A, pg. 233
Defuse (Hacking)
The sole purpose of the Defuse program is to deactivate data bombs that are protecting files or devices. It is used with the Disarm Data Bomb action (p. 230).

Also worthy of note, despite a mistaken page number:

Quote from: SR4A, pg. 233
Data Bomb (None)
...
You can defuse a data bomb simply by entering the correct passcode.
Without the passcode, you can only disable a detected data bomb with a successful Disarm Data Bomb action (p. 231).

Jumping back to page 230 (not 231 as the Data Bomb snippet claims):

Quote from: SR4A, pg. 230
Disarm Data Bomb (Disarm) [I'm pretty sure that is supposed to read Defuse, not Disarm]
You attempt to disarm a data bomb that you have detected (usually with a Matrix Perception Test). Make an Opposed Test between your Hacking + Disarm [once again, Defuse, not Disarm] and the Data Bomb Rating x 2. If you score any net hits, the data bomb is removed and deleted. If not, the data bomb activates, causing its damage and possibly destroying any file to which it was attached.
