-
Ain’t purty :/
-
Have they announced any pre-orders available yet? Where can I go to get more information or to keep up to date on information?

there is an official Catalyst announcement coming today, not sure if preorder info will be in it though.
-
from the vid it doesn't sound like we will see the core before gen con. So it'll be awhile.
-
Yep, sounds like Quick Start Rules for Origins and Core Rulebook for GenCon.

Bubba the troll loves pink on black, and thinks your mouth ain't purty either :[

More announcement with launch schedule should follow today. I can't say anything else (not even pre-orders y/n/when) because of NDA.
Edit: Logo on black! Purty!

I can't fo to orgins or Gencon. how can we in the PNW get a 6th ed feel?

Maybe something will be released on Free RPG Day?
-
That's an interesting question. My guess is the with the release of the box set being planned in June (same time as Free RPG Day), CGL is likely not participating this year (at least with Shadowrun).
-
Aw, too bad. I liked Spoi- I mean, Return to Sender. I'd like to see another short & simple run that can turn into utter havoc when new players take a crack at it.
-
Yeah...nothing from CGL is listed on the Free RPG Day website. If they were going to participate, figure they would have promoted it a lot more heavily to support the Sixth World launch. That being said, I believe the adventure include in the box set is an expansion of Food Fight...so you should still have that opportunity ;D

Food fight? Is that an existing adventure I will need to pick up in order to play this new one?
-
It's the intro adventure which I think you can find in the free SR4 QSR?

Ah, thanks! I saw those when I was reading things available on the main webpage, but I didn't check out the QSR since it was for a previous edition.
-
'Tis a nice crazy way to get into the thing, though of course the stats are outdated. I like it more than the SR5 Free QSR adventure. I actually ran food fight once before starting my first-ever short Shadowrun campaign.
-
Ah, the QSR I saw on the main website was for 5th edition. I downloaded it anyway, and then poked around the internet and found 4th edition's QSR with the adventure (Food Fight 4.0). Thanks for the info!
-
Food Fight isn't much of an adventure; it's just a fight. A potentially hilarious fight, and dressed up a bit with some story, but really not a lot.

I've used the Food Fight Table for a lot of events. What comes out of random pipes that get shot/ripped out of the wall by the troll. What is in that box that just took an Assault Cannon round. What is really in the package Mr. Johnson sent the group out with on a Courier Run. What "Mystery Meal" is coming out of the Mecha-Chef tonight because the PC went cheap and got a knock-off of a knock-off without the instruction manual. What the "Mud" in the wrestling pit is at the strip club that the group operates out of.
Quite a useful little table.

Hmm got to remember that one. Just need to add a sheep to one of those tables. ;)

A sheep?

A 6 years old running joke. There's an SR4 booklet on addiction and stuff, Sim Dream & Nightmares (source of SR5 Addiction rules even), where a sheep is mentioned regarding some run enough times that it drove both Jackpointers and forum peeps here crazy in trying to figure out what it was about. CanRay wrote that excellent thing and I still bring up the sheep from time to time. :P

Hmm, was it ever mentioned what the sheep was?

The sheep was a bit of me being artistic and trying to do a bit of Coyote Teaching (also known as The Socratic Method.).
The lesson isn't about the Sheep, but rather the fact that the JackPointer was stuck on that one single thing to the point of pissing everyone off.
Of course, I was also pissing everyone off at the same time, so, effectively, I made fiction reality for a limited point of time.

We are all /dev/grrl here. :-[

I converted Food Fight into a car chase with an Italian fusion taco truck. The kitchen gadgets became improvised weapons and road hazards.
