Title: Dunkelzahn appearance
Post by: Lipe82 on <06-15-19/1104:33>
Old Dunkelzahn is probably my second favorite character from SR. However, I'm not sure about his draconic appearance. Dunkelzahn's Will depicts a blue western dragon; Super Tuesday' cover, albeit saying "vote dunkelzahn", has an image of a golden dragon that looks more like Lofwyr.

After all - do we have any official description of Big D's looks (on novels, supplements, what have you)?

Bonus points if you can post actual OFFICIAL pics of the mass media dragon.

Not sure if you read my post, but by the same logic we get "Super Tuesday" cover which in theory depicts an entirely different Dunkelzahn.

The blue and bronze pics don't conflict. It's different lighting.

And possibly a difference between living and hale D and dead and spectral D.

Well, if anyone remembers and could drop a description of Dunkelzahn from one of the books, that would settle it.

I'm pretty sure old books described Dunkelzahn as having dark blue scales with silvery edges... but i'm away from my older books, i will look for a quote later.

This is quoted from Dunkelzahn's stat block in the Dragon Project article "Dunkelzahn: The Mass-Media Dragon" from Dragon magazine #199.

"Description: Dunklezahn is a silver- and blue-scaled great western dragon (Draco sapiens (occidentalis)), approximately 48 meters long
including a 17-meter tail. He stands just under 3 meters in height at the shoulder and has a wingspan in excess of 30 meters. His weight has
been estimated at approximately 2,000 kilograms."

This means his body is approximately 31 meters long, for a weight of 2 metric tons.
As a comparison, blue whales (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_whale) can be up to 30 meters long, for a weight of 170 metric tons.  ???

Hence, able to fly instead of swim.

50-in Lake Trout: 102 pounds
40-in Bald Eagle: 11 pounds

And he promised to keep it off this time.
