Does anyone use Gunnery+Logic or Reaction for firing drone or vehicle mounted weapons? I can’t wrap my head around using agility when your vegging out in your car seat...
-
Don't get me started on Gunnery... There's been so many debates on that... *cries*
Anyway, Control Device notes Agility but its description implies it should apply to AR-control, even though RAW doesn't mention that. For VR-control and jumped-in, I personally rule Logic as GM.
(Incidentally, SR6 Beginner Box Rigger Dossier shows SR6 uses pure-mental attributes when jumped-in.)
-
If you are using SR5 it’s an open question still. Many tables house rules that rigging uses mental attributes while some argue hard for Gunney + agility no matter what.
-
RAW it is simple .. use Agility unless you are using Sensor Targeting
the problem in interpretation comes down to "well when are you using Sensor Targeting?" and does "Control Device apply?"
For Missions play we ruled that Control Device has nothing to do with it, and Sensor Targeting is a declared action and not the default regardless of whether you are in VR or not ... means you pretty much always use Agility

Clip or Mag level?

Literally the first thing I checked when I was able to, was what attribute you used for Jumped-In shooting in SR6. My wife's first reason to hate SR5 is that limbo on Gunnery when she first played SRM.

What? ???

What Shadowrun books call a clip, is a magazine apparently. The debates on that have gotten so intense in the far past, that the actual books acknowledge it occasionally.

Yeah, we always use Gunnery + Logic for rigged or remote operation, and Gunnery + Agility for manual operation only.

Ah, thanks for the explanation! I have a friend who is a licensed gunsmith, so I am familiar with how triggered he can get with the wrong terms. Apparently I unknowingly dodged the bullet on that particular topic. Puns intended! ;D

That makes sense, as from how I understand it when a rigger is 'jacked in,' their body is pretty much comatose in nature; I can't see someone in such a state being all that agile.

Good call. Easiest way of handling. 8) Enjoy.

I liked that they did that. Common vernacular is bound to shift over the next few decades and I could totally see several wrong words for things become the accepted word.

It's awful (http://mentalfloss.com/article/84307/7-words-mean-opposite-what-they-used) to think that word meanings aren't static.

For the most part, clip already is the more commonly used term (though it is wrong).

Please stop before Can Ray sees this.
