"No player may gain more than two bonus points of Edge in a combat round."

This is true also for edge points gained through Qualities?

Yes, that's an absolute limit. If your table wants more flashy gameplay, you could houserule that points immediately spent don't count for the limit. Aka only the tactical Edge you build up being restricted while immediate advantages are fine.

Yes. There are also some things that reduce the cost of edge moves. So assuming you are spending it you may get effectively more than 2 in a turn.
