Title: [SR6] Technomancer Visibility - Clarification please
Post by: Arkas on <09-24-19/0741:38>
From the chapter on technomancers p. 179

Quote
...and they are difficult to
spot in the Matrix, typically requiring 5 hits on a
Matrix Perception test (p. 178) to be seen.

Does this mean that they are more or less invisible in the matrix? It would read like it, but it does stand out somewhat and the wrding would allow for other implications. So I am asking for clarification, please. :)

It's saying that when you're inspecting a TM's Living Persona, it takes 5 hits to tell that's a TM as opposed to a mundane matrix user.

It's not saying that Living Personae always require 5 hits to be spotted at all.

No (I have already submitted this to be either errata or at least put in the FAQ)

This test is just to figure out that a particular persona is a TM not just another matrix icon. If a TM wants to hide it is a standard sleaze vs perception check
