Hey all, still having fun diving back into Shadowrun, trying to absorb the contents of several core books simultaneously.
So I've been looking for two varieties of cyberlimbs that I've been unable to find as options in any of the books I've read so far. If you've seen them and can point out where I should look that'd be ideal, if not then I'd appreciate hearing your suggestion for house rules or a rough equivalent.
1) The first is a beefier cyber-tail. The only model I've found in the supplements is a cat-like balance tail in Chrome Flesh. What I'd like is a cyberware equivalent of the "Thagomizer" tail available to SURGE changelings, ideally with a Capacity rating that I can use to add extra weapons into it.
2) Are all cyber-arms necessarily replacements for amputated natural arms, or can you have extra shiva-arms added that sprout from your middle or hips like Goro?
3) Are all cyberlimbs shaped like human arms and legs, or could you have exotic shapes like tentacles?
4) Are there any vehicles that are humanoid, like a mech or exo-skeleton? Or a drone that the pilot can ride in (which I guess makes it a vehicle, but I dunno maybe it would be listed as a drone)? The closest I saw was the ED-209 ripoff in the Rigger 5.0 book. Seems like a big untapped market for Shadowrun, even if it runs the risk of turning the game into Battletech I guess.

1- I only ever saw the balance tail and I looked for more types.
3- I don’t know about tentacles, but several editions have had digigrade legs.
I had a character named Raptor who had those and the balance tail.

1, 2, & 3) I don't recall any specific entries for any of these items, so it would be up to you and your GM to work out the exact function and cost of the limbs. I think regardless of replacing/adding a limb, you would still probably have to pay the essence cost, and not to mention the auto-boost in notoriety for having such outlandish upgrades.
4) Street Lethal covers powered armor (PROMETHEUS ENGINEERING BATTLEFIELD AUGMENTATION
SOLDIER EXO-SYSTEM (BASES) on pg 83), but it is clumsy, bulky, and has a drek power source. I've been working with my GM to take a suit of hardened mil-spec armor and assemble an anthroform drone around it for my rigger character, but its a slow process.

In my mind, the trouble of shiva arms is that they articulate in strange ways, and would require multiple sets of muscles that would occupy the same space as important postural muscles (and not in a good way). The trouble with mecha shiva arms is that they made shiva arms exist, so they can't say you couldn't do it at this point. Can't put that genie back in the bottle my friend.
I'd probably use the same shortcomings as the Shiva Arms mutagen, but have a really high cost in both nuyen and essence, as you're getting a custom job that also involves cludging control wires either all the way into your brain or to nerves that were absolutely never designed for that purpose.
