Title: Investigator Shaman for Shadowrun v.3
Post by: Serephim on <03-13-11/1652:03>
Hello,

I am going to be GMing a game with a first time player.  She would very much like to play a Shaman, but also likes the idea of the Investigator class.  I  have my opinions on how this could be done, but I was hoping to hear some other ideas so she has more to draw from and gets the closest thing to her dream character.

She likes the ideas of totems, and I have ideas for which totems would be good choices.  I would love it if I could get other peoples opinions on which totems, which skills, and which spells would be worth considering.

We are playing v.3, and if you are more familiar with a different version that is fine, I would still love to hear your opinion as many idea's transfer over.

Thank-you in advance for your time and opinions.

If you've got at least access to the SR4 main book, start with the Occult Investigator as given, and simply define it as a shamanic tradition with totem *ahem* Mentor Spirit.

Doing the same as SR3 gets a little tricky, but by no means impossible.  The main pitfalls are in the Gear - there's just no substitute for an SR4 commlink, and some of the other stuff only becomes available post-2064.
