Would Indomitable work for Drain Resistance, giving an Edge discount for drain resistance edge actions?
-
Game Effect: Edge Boost costs are reduced
by 1 on tests involving Willpower.
There are no kinds of tests proscribed. So long as they invoke Willpower, the quality works.
I'm not so sure that drain is supposed to work with this and other qualities, but RAW says what it says. Since the fluff includes the line "You
can ... shrug off mild injuries with ease", I'd probably house rule that you can only use the quality while the drain is Stun damage, but that's not any kind of official reading.

Markelphoenix,
For must the same reasons as SSDR, We play that it does give an edge discount.
Best,

I also see no reason why it should not work for Drain Resistance Tests.
SR6 p. 72 Indomitable

If you look at the fluff description, that clashes with the mechanical description. So there are tables where this is ruled as 'only applies when rolling against spells, not when rolling against drain'.
-
A Game Effect of "...tests involving Willpower" seem to suggest that it work in far more situations than when just being exposed to interrogation, during natural recovery of stun damage and when resisting magic effects.
That fluff just give a few (open ended) examples supporting the crunch and is not to be seen as an exclusive (closed) list.
Having a mind that is hard to break could potentially also help you when opposing matrix actions, resonance actions, soaking matrix damage, opposing critter powers, the nauseated status, during composure tests, to avoid insomnia or the effects of loss of confidence, resisting a con, resisting toxins and drugs, etc etc as long as the test in question involve Willpower.
(Which also seem to include 'drain resistance tests').

I don't see why not, it is a test that uses willpower. Its useful but not game breaking. There are very few edge uses that this would apply to at least currently. Bump a roll by 1, reroll a failure reroll all dice that weren't hits, add edge to die roll. It might break when a magic book comes out and if it adds some edge actions that specifically apply to drain.

The game effect of that Quality is spelled out in clear, simple English. If anyone rules that you cannot use the benefits on Drain Tests, then they are ruling based upon personal prejudice and clearly not on what the mechanic actually says. It's that simple.
