I would say it's obvious and reasonable that it does not affect Direct Combat spells, given they do not get a resist and from a RAI, it seems pretty straight forward.

Where it becomes less obvious for me is for Indirect Combat spells. If you are getting attacked by a Clout spell for example, would it not help absorb impact? Little less obvious for a Fireball, but as written a Flamethrower would still have -rating DV reduced, so why not a fireball?

Anyone know if it is clarified anywhere between CRB and Firing Squad?
