On to my third ambien of the night.
Insomnia like mine is a curse I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, (But I would on my political enemies).

But, what's the difference?
But Im a father of two and a third shifter, so what's sleep?

With my worst enemies I'd really like to see the vessels pop in their eyes as the terror builds and it becomes clear, they're not going to be able to stop this from happening.

I've just missed a few nights sleep due to a variety of reasons, and am trying to recover from it.

I hear that, Onion Man. I haven't slept more than 5 hours in a single evening in years. Makes me long for the day where I can sleep for 12 hours. Constantly feeling tired and drained really rather sucks.
I can truly empathize.
Insomniac

Do you guys get much exercise throughout the day? Physical activities can really be exhausting and should help you sleep. I don't get much exercise these days and I often have insomnia as well. I always want to do more and more and don't feel ready to go to bed because I believe I won't be able to sleep. I typically stay awake for about 18-20 hours each day but then I sleep for 8-12 typically and when I am really burned out I'll sleep for 15-20 and even 22 hours on rare occasions.

I work in Law Enforcement and Private Security. Yes, lots of physical activity. My problem is working third shift with overactive kids during the day.

Your co-workers are that bad? Or young?

Yes. I could rant for a very...very long time about it. But, the kids during the day are mine. Love them, but cant put duct tape on their mouths and put them in the closet. Only get any real sleep on Fridays, when Mommy has to take the oldest to his therapy and takes the little one with.
Ahhh like the song says "enjoy the silence".

"Hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk with you again"?
