Are there any basic zombie survival tabletop games out there or any "mods" for existing tabletop games that are set in the modern world?

Cute, real cute.
I have searched for it and haven't come up with anything, hence why I'm asking.

Well, from that list on the link there is All Flesh Must Be Eaten (http://www.allflesh.com/), and Zombi by Crucible Design, and that's just from reading the descriptions on that particular list. I'm sure there are other Zombie games if you take the time to look...

I've looked into AFMBE and its...ok.
It's better suited to a "point A to B" kind of adventure and it's pretty complicated. I was looking for something even simpler.

I think Chill has some Zombie elements, as does GURPS Undead, It Came From The Late, Late, Late Show, and Year of the Zombie.

Zombies (http://www.twilightcreationsinc.com/en/boardgames/zombies.html) gives you a nice starting point.
major edit - did the wrong website in the original. Site is corrected.

I have played that Zombies game.
It's certainly something different ^^

As mentioned above, All Flesh Must Be Eaten. If you don't like the d10 system that it uses there is an edition with a D20 Modern conversion system. Great game btw.

Yes, a D20 Modern conversion. That causes Cancer and The Zombie Apocalypse! :P

Yeah yeah yeah. Thought I'd just put that addendum in there just in case. Besides I enjoyed D20 Modern, you could do Shadowrun lite (if you don't take that as blasphemy). 8)

Someone put up the stake, I'll get the kindling and the kerosine! We have to burn him alive to save him!!!

well, at least with zombies you won't have to worry about the cancer anymore . .

Never played Deadlands: Hell On Earth, have you? Cancer Zombies are NASTY!

Send out the mages with the flame thrower spells. Scoruge and Purge. Cleanse and Purify. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Flaming Zombies don't die quick enough, and cause too much trouble with secondary fires due to their stumbling around before they finally drop. (Or are Zombies that are wearing Rainbow Triangle T-Shirts...).

Never. And i meant if you are chased by zombies you won't have to worry about your cancer for long.

If you set a zombie that's chasing you on fire, the first thing you have is a burning zombie chasing you.

Trying to remember what it was they did that was so nasty... It's been so long since I checked out that book and it's still packed.
I think they threw cancer at you that stuck to you like tar (Bad if they nailed you on a lower-leg and stuck you to the ground), and even if you did get away and escaped it never got out of your system without supernatural healing.

Just got into Deadlands a few months ago. Only have the core rulebook for Hell on Earth. I don't recal cancer zombies, but I've seen the toxic zombies, which looked scary.

I can't remember which book they were in. I'll go through them later when I have time. I *THINK* I have most of HoE unpacked.
