I'm new to RPG and Shadowrun too (but im a huge boardgamer), i start reading the core book and looking for a pbp campaign suited to my level!

Try posting in Runner's Black Book or in the Looking For Games thread instead.
And keep checking the boards for a new recruitment thread to open or one of the running games to start additional recruitment.

like xzyl said, hang around, keep watching this part of the forum for recruitments topics, GMs are usually happy to accept newbies
most of us are fairly new to the game as well, but the best way to learn is to actually play.
