Title: Which Drug?
Post by: Zilfer on <12-02-11/1440:45>
Sorry, this is a bit of laziness and partly because i'm not home with my books but what drug is the one that makes you forget the past 24 hours? And isn't their a drug that makes someone mundane able to see astrally?

(I had an idea for the second one if we get sent on a wetwork mission)

I think the closest you're looking to is Deepweed, but it's past this old man's naptime, so I might be misremembering.

Or high on Deepweed.

DON'T HARSH MY BUZZ!  And get off my lawn.

There's always tempo. Just don't let Ghostwalker catch you with it.

It seems the others had already answered your second question, so I will focus on the first:

I really don't think there's a drug tha makes you forget the last 24 hours, but a less potent effect (12 - Body hours) is something you can achieve with Laés (Arsenal, pg. 76).

Well, there's different kinds of 'forget'. Drink enough tequila and you'll forget a long stretch of time. Laes, however, erases the memories completely, so that not even magic can get at them.

I know this probably isn't possible without ODing someone but, can you double up on that effect? I mean I have a troll with 15 body would that absolutely not work on him? (he's an adept troll named "Bullet stopper" and he has 20 HP and he's made just for fun. :D)

You are thinking of Laes, but SR4 dumbed the effects down from 24 hours - resist test to 12 hours - Body.

I like that Dwarves and Trolls have to pay more for drugs as they are so much harder to affect...

Having a natural high tolerance to most drugs IRL, I know how difficult it can be at times.  And then you get people like Ozzy Osbourne (Who is LITERALLY a genetic mutant) and couldn't be knocked out for a colonoscopy, and watched the whole thing with the doctors.

Just don't give an elf a troll-sized dose of NovaCoke or you just lost a customer.

Well, it would work for him, but poorly... It always has at least an hour of effect, even if your character has more than 12 Body.

Yeah i thought their had to be a rule or something that made it affect at least a little bit or a minimum amount.

On that note, switching topics here for a moment. IF you have flare compensation but get hit with a flash grenade from the book do you still take the 6S damage? I mean in real life a flash bang is a flash.... BANG. Meaning loud noise. <.<

I'd say yes, no sound dampener.  That's why any character I get that has cybernetics gets both installed even if they don't have cyberoptics or cyberaudio systems.
