one of our Users (Loki) made this and asked me to show it to you

Very nice. Did he do one for Europa as well?
-
Some nice maps for Germany/Europe on Pegasus site. This one rocks though.

I think they're working on it, but I'm not quite shure.
But if it's done I should be posting it here(and on Dumpschock too)
Hough!

Very nice. Tell him that was really helpful seeing the progression like that.
-
Man, Cali sure got ripped a new one...

The English version is done:

Nice, it really helps to see the progression to SR times. Very interesting.
One thing that stands out for me is that the Trans-Polar Aleut are sitting on some prime real estate now. Since there is oil and natural gas trapped in the ice up there, they stand to make a lot of money on energy production.

Wow. Very cool. Thanks guys.
Do you think he'll make any for other continents?
-
I hope so :D
Europe should be very interesting but also very difficult ,especially the Euro / Balkan Wars

Here is the next animation, this time South America

I guess I should give this a little update:
I produced one additional animation for the Americas after North and South America. The territorial evolution of Middle America:
http://shadowhelix.de/Datei:Animation_Territorialentwicklung_Mittelamerika_englisch.gif
And more recently inspired by the Shadowrun: Hong Kong Kickstarter, the territorial evolution of the Chinese successor states:
http://shadowrun.wikia.com/wiki/File:Territorial_evolution_of_the_Chinese_successor_states.gif
I have some other animations in mind, but so far only drafts. But they might be useful to someone. Eurowars:

http://www.shadowhelix.de/Datei:Karte_Entwurf_Eurokriege_II.png
Territorial evolution of Germany:
http://shadowhelix.pegasus.de/Datei:Entwurf_Entwicklung_von_Deutschland.png (size exceeds preview limits, click on "Volle Auflösung")
This is an interactive world map for the countries that allow sapients citizenship:
http://shadowhelix.pegasus.de/Map:_Sapient_Citizenship
In general I have an adaptable world map for this kind of stuff:
http://www.shadowhelix.de/Datei:Weltkartenvorlage_fuer_Modifikation.svg
There is a perl script in the description below that can be used to colour countries in selectively. If somebody is interested I can translate the instructions. Here are two other examples made from this raw map using the script:
http://www.shadowhelix.de/Datei:Uebersicht_Sixth_World_Almanac_Abdeckung.png
http://www.shadowhelix.de/Datei:Uebersicht_Business_Recognition_Accords.png
One other map I linked to in the Dumpshock version of this thread is a map of Africa:
http://shadowrun.wikia.com/wiki/File:Map_africa.jpg
Most maps I have produced are raw versions though. They are just a base and have to be developed into real maps. If you interested in the topic you can always have a look at the Shadowhelix map portal page with the caveat of it being in German:
http://shadowhelix.pegasus.de/Shadowhelix:Karten
The other caveat is that most of my map stuff will be under some version of the Creative Commons licence with a non-commercial clause. Should be in the description on the page of the file. That is because I based them on the GADM dataset (http://gadm.org). It used to require academic or non-commercial use only. These days all licencing information is gone, so maybe I can relicence the maps. On the other hand who knows what that means. Maybe it's best not to pry. :D

Really nice stuff lokii, appreciated!

I wrote a guide to Shadowhelix maps for Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/Shadowrun/comments/4yhpnt/guide_to_shadowhelix_maps/). Similar to my post above. Anyway what might be of more interest to you, I provided slide decks for my animated maps along with it. You can find them on Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ihmlg5d01gn2bqb/AABpQmMDy5je0GUydH7SSFnwa?dl=0
Thanks AJ.

+1 Karma for you, Loki!

Very nice!
All that's missing is the Rio Gambit and you'll have all of the map changes up through 2078. Woo!
-
Yeah, I have to create the coordinate sets for post-Rio Gambit Aztlan and PCC at some point. I also wanted to add the California Protectorate. (Though I think unfortunately I'm short one colour code slot.)

New blank world maps for 2080:
- Mercator (https://shadowrun.wikia.com/wiki/File:World_map_2080_blank_mercator.svg)
- Mollweide (https://shadowrun.wikia.com/wiki/File:World_map_2080_blank_mollweide.svg)
- Rectangular (https://shadowrun.wikia.com/wiki/File:World_map_2080_blank_rectangular.svg)
- Robinson (https://shadowrun.wikia.com/wiki/File:World_map_2080_blank_robinson.svg)
Compared to the 2072 version (apart from corrections) these are the changes: The border between Aztlan and Pueblo has been adjusted to reflect the Rio Gambit territorial change. Aztlan's southern border to Amazonia was changed to match the Aztlan sourcebook description and then shifted 60 km out as per the Geneva agreement. The Arabian caliphate now includes Iraq and Syria.
Here is a labeled map as an example: https://i.redd.it/r8hgsuzaday01.png
(Using the new 2072 Aztlan-Amazonian border the pre-War! region maps have also been updated: https://www.reddit.com/r/Shadowrun/comments/8kuxrx/update_prewar_maps_aztlanamazonian_border_2072/ )
