Title: [ooc] Chess "Pawn"
Post by: Lysanderz on <01-09-12/0100:00>
This is the OOC section for the Pawn leg of the Chess campaign.

First Step: Please post a brief description of your character and your 4 highest ranked skills to give the rest of your team a little OOC knowledge of what your character can do. Feel free to post full sheets if desired, but still pull the top 4 skills at the top of your app just so others can immediately get an idea without having to search too hard.

Second Step: The first official posting will come late in the evening on Jan 10, 2012 which is the same time I'll start the IC topic. Have fun boys and girls.

Silver Bee - Finley "Fin" Kaufmann

He's a smooth talking, well-dressed Elf Face.  He'll try to resolve situations as peaceably as possible, but if worst comes to worst, he carries a few weapons, though they are non-lethal.  He's also pretty friendly, and won't hesitate when a friend is in need.

Highest Ranked Skills
Pistols - 4
Disguise - 3
Con - 3
Negotiation - 3

Lol, for a second I thought he was part of THE Finnigans. Then I realized the spelling difference.

Pyro - Lucius A. Traven

A young hotshot male Elf.  Born and raised in the shadows.  He's been around a while and known to a few low end fixers (aka street dealers).  Not being a specialist in any field, he's picked up a little bit of everything.

Noteworthy Skills:
Pistol - 6
Hacking - 4
Con - 4
Infiltration - 4

Not to be an ass, but Kouryuu this game is almost full. I've been taking apps for 3 days almost now for those who wanted to play. I'll take a peek at your sheet but I gotta give priority to other players who already have their stuff in.

That's true. If there is room in 24 hours, I'll PM you and let you know you got the spot. It's the least I can do for you showing interest in the game. And in the future I plan for there to be a second part to this campaign (Chess: Knights) and it will be a chance for there to be a swap in characters. So keep an eye on us for that time if you don't get in this go around.

Card: Jackson Hart (if you don't get why he's called it, at least think to ask)

Human Triad Delivery Adept (Pizza, Chinese food, drugs, porn, other legit things that come through the front door that will fit on his bike or on his back) stationed in Seattle, but has rode as far as slightly over the nearest boarders.

4 highest Skills:
Pilot: Ground Craft/Smuggling Routes
Unarmed Combat

(Then it's a tie between:
Influence Skill Group
Smuggling Safe houses
Chinese Language
HK Triads

So pick as you want. They all have 3s)

Faust (Real name unknown)

Faust is a street samurai who appeared on the scene shortly after the SCIRE was liberated from Deus, though he kept a low profile until after Crash 2.0. Heavily modified, the only obvious chrome he has are his cybereyes (blue), cyberears, and a datajack, though he clearly moves with wired reflexes, and likely has skillwires as well. As for his past? He doesn't remember it. What he does remember may very well be drek, since his first memories are of coming down off a chemical high and a nice bout of brainwashing. The only remarkable things about him is the tattoo of five black bands on his right arm, and the Red Samurai armor he wears when expecting trouble, painted black except for five red bands on the right arm.

Skills, not counting wires:
Blades 5
Automatics 5
Athletics 3
Pilot Ground Craft 3
Heavy Weapons 3

Lysanderz is still looking over my character but currently you guys far out stat me on skills. I may pull through though, as a tank (with potential and a weird back story)

At this point the team (After reviewing all the characters sent to me and selecting them based on first-come~first-serve and their ability to complete a character sheet and provide an interesting story) is:

Chrona, Kylen, Pyro, and Cabo.

Thanks others for applying, but I never received your app in my inbox back when I was requesting them earlier this weekend and the spots just filled up. I am currently writing a second run in this campaign called "Knights" so keep an eye out for it in the near future.

Chrona, Kylen, Pyro, and Cabo I'll be posting either late tonight, early tomorrow, or late tomorrow depending on the freedom of my schedule to sit down and do some intensive writing.

And before I forget

I am not sure about the dice roller system used in normal pbp's on this site, but I would prefer we stick an old favorite of mine simply because it is the one I am most familiar with and easy to learn.

Beyond that: Be ready to play. The IC topic will be made shortly before I post in it and the link will be placed here.

I think IC is the preferred dice rolling site of this board, to be honest.

InvisibleCastle. IC.

Am I not the only one who's seen/noticed that? And that's what I've seen it called before.

IT's cool. I just find it funny that most PbP/Chat players will usually get confused and go "Why did you say In Character?"

So I posted, it's here and time to play.

Sinkhole.

Sinkhole is a very cybered Fomori, his head being all that isn't shows how his Troll features are even less pronounced than regular Fomori, but still covered in a thin green fur with shaggy black hair on top. He's new to Seattle, He's new to running, give him a chance and he'll how great potential!

Close Combat 3
Dodge 3

Physical Description: Two and a half meters tall, most of his original Fomori body is chrome now, whats left is green ad covered in fur, his head is topped by shaggy black hair, blue eyes and his genes play down his troll features.
Personality/background Test Subject 0002 is corporate property, whose he doesn't know. The project was to vat grow a soldier with tailored genes, augment them and then train them subliminally, to try to show their new method was more cost effective than skillwires. While being tranported back to Hong Kong, the shipment containing 0002 was hit by runners. Either the job went awry or 0002 wasn't the target, he found himself awake, naked and unarmed in the warehouse district. He was found by the security head of the nightclub Equilibrium, who was understaffed. Seizing the opportunity for a cheap, huge, chromed bouncer he offered 0002 a job. All his gear comes from his job, he has no liscence for the gun so it gets left at the club. His streetname comes from a clubber on Tempo who said he looked like a "Sink Hole". 0002 continues to hope his "Father", the project leader, will come take him home. 0002 isn't entirely awre of his own skills untill placed in suitable situation.

Don't really need exact blueprints of the floor plan.  Though I was looking for maybe a +2 AR bonus to run tests (to escape the mall) should things go south.

That may or may not be given depending on the situation. I'll let you know when appropriate to add dice or anything else pertaining to your blueprints.

Quote
REA+Dodge to avoid being hit by flying debris, damage is 4P
Whats the threshold for the avoid-test? You mean REA+Dodge(2)? Only if you fail to evade, you should have to resist 4P damage?
Or you meant to defend like vs. a ranged attack, first evade then soak? But even then, if evaderoll is better then attackroll, you can evade without the need for soak. Anyway, i suggest to be more specific in what you expect, when you use your own notation for announcing tests. You might confuse your players ;-) For hints see SR4A pages 63-65 :P

Otherwise very nice introduction so far. I am curious how it will continue...

Yes Lethe, I shouldn't have thrown up the 4P until after evade rolls were posted. That was a simple mistake, I am quite familiar with the rulebook, just a tad rusty running the post by post forum method of rp.
