So one of the things that often drives me nuts is that when i make a character I have a sheet that has a bunch of space that can't be used because my character is not a street samurai or a mage, or what not. I dislike using spreadsheets and I'm not interested in buying Hero lab-so what's out there that can allow to make a customizable character sheet?

Like Chummer?

Chummer's good; it's not licensed, so the guy can only give 'numerical' information, plus book/page references to find the rest of the details, and there are a few glitches. However, it's free and it actually has all the books, including the German-edition items and the PDF-only supplements.
If you want something that's more along the lines of a fill-able PDF form file, THIS PAGE (http://www.daemonstorm.com/role-playing/shadowrun/Shadowrun-Character-Sheet) has a couple to check out.

I use those PDFs as well, and I find them very good. You can print only those pages you need and it calculates dicepools as well.

Depending of the experience of my characters I used either standard charsheets, or I custmoize my own sheets in ".doc" format.

I use the sr4cs04.pdf character sheet on the link that was posted. It's fantastic. I find fillable PDFs to be easier than paper character sheets, but if you like paper ones, this one is great anyways. Just print out the pages you need.

Honestly? I don't find the PDF or printed character sheets to be that useful. Especially if you're playing anything out of the ordinary, want to make notes, or are customizing gear. I've seen a few txt file charsheets that are decent, but I've always found the text format (like what I have in the characters in my sig) is what is easiest for me.

I hate electronics at my gaming table, and vastly prefer paper character sheets. I use the premade sheets because of two reasons:
- I'm lazy, and I don't feel like making my own sheets. Plus I don't have any real computer skills to make my own.
- I had someone try to break my writing hand a few years back at work, and ever since my hand doesn't work like it used to-otherwise I'd use graph paper.
So what I was hoping for is some simple way of dragging and dropping the stuff I want onto one sheet-need spells but not matrix stuff? No problem. Until that becomes a reality I'll just scratch off sections or scribble out what I don't need.

Chummer lets you do a physical printout of your character sheet once it's finished. Just FYI.

Yeah, I've been tinkering with it after people recommending it, and it's growing on me.
