Firearms is really never worth it; he'd be better off just being good at either just Automatics or at Pistols and Heavy Weapons instead of meh at everything. Firearms contains too much redundancy to be worth it.

He has some anti-synergy going on with his melee skills. It's a bit complex so let me try to explain.

Why do you have melee skills? There are two reason: to hit people, and to add to passive defense.

This guy benefits from neither. He does much, MUCH better shooting people at point-blank, because (a) his melee attacks are crap and (b) he has the Firefight martial art that makes you good at face-shooting. And he has Dodge, which covers the passive defense. He would be better off ditching Clubs and just being better at Dodge. Ditto off-hand training/riposte/TWS - those are good, but you need your melee attacks to not be a joke for them to be useful. There is no circumstance where wuss-slapping people for 2P will help this guy. Better manuevers include Full Offense (remember it only impairs you from defending against melee attacks, but can be used at range), Iaijutsu (for quickdrawing grenade launchers), or Watchful Guard.

I agree with Umaro on the Melee combat, your strenght is too low to have any significance in combat, so at least Strenght improvement in that Mislec armour woul help. I see that you are primarily shooter (Pistol), well note that Riposte applies only for Block/Parry defenses, not Dodge (so MBW do not apply for this case), so you may want to raise Melee combat skill in the future

One REALLY good use for Clubs skill even on low Strength characters. Stun batons.

I wander if those Melee hardened pistols can be modified that way :P

Actually, I'm wondering if one couldn't use Hardened pistols as Clubs (aka, dropping the Dodge instead), or add a bayonet and use Blades, and then parry melee attacks, followed up by a point blank (or Contact) shot with Riposte. Thoughts?

That is debatable. That's not a good reason to use Offhand Training or Two Weapon Style (both of which explicitly are melee-only). It might be a good reason to use Riposte, though, although you don't want to Riposte with pistols. Riposting eats your entire next action even if the attack you make would normally be simple, so you want to use a weapon that has FA (or better yet HV, or is a minigun) with Riposte. Your GM may very well not allow you to Riposte by making a ranged attack, in any case.

He has an augmented Agility of 6, a skill of 4 in Firearms (5 with the reflex recorder), and 2 more dice from a smartlink.  I'm getting 13 dice here, not 15.

For dodge, remember that the augmented maximum is skill x 1.5.  You need to increase your base skill to 4 to be able to get the +2 bonus from MBW.

I believe he's factoring in specializations which puts him at 15.

I was!

Well, more drawing board time required (but then that's the point of posting these here after all!) :)  I was going for something like the Equilibrium Cleric with Requiem, until someone pointed out that pistols was hardly a military primary skill.  Maybe I will shift things to 5 pistols and 5 heavy weapons...I can always get a couple of pirated activsofts for longarms and automatics...

Is this written somewhere?  I know it's spelt out for adept bonuses to skills but I wasn't aware it applied elsewhere too?!? EDIT: Never mind, I found it in the skills section :P

Made some of those changes...now I just need to sort out a heavy weapon and decide what I should do about the martial arts maneuvers.

Ingram White Knight is a favorite of mine.
And the pistol sized grenade launcher from war is also cool.
